Deep Forest - Mystic Valley(#1747RJU)

A vast lush, dense underground forest surrounds the area as thick, tangled vines creep on up past high, rising treacherous, slick, black walls. The volcanic rock face that surrounds this natural valley seems to reach on up to the brink of infinity and beyond, making it nearly impossible to climb with its slick, plate-like surface. Inside the surrounding chasm lies a dangerous lush and vibrant woods as while the deeper one goes only seems to surround the area with eyes that watch from afar. Strange, foreign sounds echo throughout as odd beasts mock those that dare to travel in here, simply waiting in hiding to prey upon the weak and less fortunate. Numerous deep, dark, twisting caverns wind ever downwards to make up the expanse of the labyrinthine structure of the underground tunnels surrounding the area.

The ceiling of the caverns reaches something of hundreds of feet tall, far beyond what the eye can see into the dark as great stalactites and stalagmites meet each other in grissled embedded rock structures of enriched, pure minerals. Differently colored crystal pools of shimmering mineral water cascade down from flowing indoor springs as a cool, eerie air seems to constantly blow through the area, howling like a banshee on the wind. Photoluminescent algae clings healthily to the rock beds near the pools of water as they glow malevolently, casting a dim light for those to see that pass through these dark paths. Deep abysmal, dark and dense caves completely surround the area as the latent sound of dripping water lightly echoing against dried, crusted, volcanic rock and stinging gentle mineral pools with their soft *Hiss* as the cool water gently touches to make a light steam in the thick air.

The pathways that lead around these eternal caverns here are exceptionally deadly and dangerous as all lies within complete darkness except for the brief moments of glittering light against soft pools of crystals, green moss, illuminated algae, and shards of silvery reflections inside cavern waterfalls. The lush, thick, dark underground forest seems to surround the dense area in tight entanglements of vines, bushes, jungle and shrubs. The trees hang down in their weeping willows as branches mix with gnarled roots that sink beneath the cracked, rocky, stygian, encrusted earth. Depths of coiled mist surround the thick humid air in a serpentine pattern as spouts of steam spit out from the dark chasms in bursts of fiery hot gaseous flames.

Sonja walks onto the caern stretching as she looks like she might have just woken up. She approaches the group with a soft smile curling her lips "Good morning all" she offers kindly to them.

Quinn just sank into one of the pools wearing a two piece swim suit that couldn't hide a largish bruise on her thigh. Cynthia sits by the totem pole and Trek is half dozing somewhere having not slept last night. She shakes her head to Cynthia "Na, at the gym. it was rather spectacular. some meat head wouldn't leave me alone and I didn't really want to get kicked out for breaking patron's noses so I turned to leave and ran right into a bit of machinery. caught me right in the thigh and I fell head over heals with everyone watching."

George actually comes wandering out of the temple, dripping wet from the soaking pools. He smiles and waves at those assembled as he blinks himself awake slowly.

Cynthia looks over and waves at George before looking at Quinn "Well if there's actual damage to your leg I can take a look if you want. I'm not a bad hand at medical stuff." before gnawing a bit on her pencil and giving Sonja a wave "Hi!"

Quinn shakes her head "Just a bruise, it's nothing really, I hardly notice it unless I bump it."

Sonja gasps softly and places her hand over her heart "I so sorry... Umm... oh right I should introduce myself... sorry was a long night" she says with a happy giggle. She stands up with her back straight "I am Sonja Romanoff, daughter of Nikolai Romanoff, Booms-With-Thunder, Adren Shadowlord born on two legs, he was Sept Alpha of Gated Thorns until he died while battling off the wyrm, I am also mate to Leandro Trumello Blood-In-The-Streets, Cliath Glasswalker born on two legs." She says all of that rather proudly.

George grins and nods at Sonja as he starts building a fire "That's Cynthia, Quinn and I'm George. There's more to it than that but we don't tend to the super formal around here less there's a reason to be. Though often that reason usually is a silver fang or shadow lord feels like it."

Quinn waves from her relaxing point in the pools "I don't have anything fancy to say anyway. just 'Fianna kinfolk'

Buck's arrival is heralded by a small bouncing child. She's in a sundress and hiking boots and she looks partially muddy. Still the curly haired child is in good spirits and frolicks down the trail to the cave. Buck is not far after keeping a careful eye on the child. As he spots George he lifts a hand, "Mocks the Dark-rhya." He greets and nods to the other unknown folks.

Cynthia says, "Oooh. Fancy name and title time." Cynthia hops up setting down her pad and chewed on pencil as she stretches. She takes a deep breath then stops and plops back down picking up her notpad and pencil again "Nah, don't feel like it. I'm Cynthia of the Black Whispers. I'm a Shadow Seer, which is like a Theurge but way cooler."

Sahael pops in from the temple with a bounce in his step and a smile on his face, he's flicking teh towel around to make loud cracking noises that completely breaks any ambience people were trying to set up. "Oh yay fancy time." He flicks the towel around his neck and gives an amazingly elaborate courtly bow... for a hobo with a towel on. "Sahael Al-Atrash, ragabsh of the Silent Striders. Hobo."

Sonja giggles softly as she looks to George "Father always did raise me to be super formal as you put it" she says with a warm smile to him. She smiles to Quinn "Every tribe as their own version of introductions I suppose" she says kindly "It is a pleasure to meet all of you." She then looks to Cynthia "Shadow Seer? I am unfamiliar with that one to be honest with you" she admits to her. She then looks to Buck and offers a warm smile, her eyes lighting up as she sees the little girl. A bright smile curls her lips "Hello I'm Sonja, it is a pleasure to meet you...." she says looking to him. She then looks to Sahael "Sonja, mate to Blood-In-The-Streets" she says then looks back to Buck and his little girl.

Buck takes a quick few steps to scop up the dark haired little girl before she can run fully at George and tosses her over his shoulder. He upnods to the group in general but it's hard to trace where his eyes are going under she shadow of his hat. Since everyone else is doing introductions he joins in too, "'M Buck." He drawls, "Grinnin Vengence Honed in Shadows. Shadow Lord. Half Moon. Cliath." He stands stoically as the little girl squirmde from where she is to climb him like a tree and settle herself on his back. He helps by curling his hands around her legs so she can stay put. "This is Zoe."

Cynthia grins at Sonja "I'm a follower of Rat, one might say." then looks over to Sahael excitedly recounting the nights hijinks "You missed it. I totally snuck up on a Garou last night and stabbed him so hard in the head that all he could do was make angry retard noises. At least thats what it sounded like while I was running away giggling. But by the time he turned around Rianna had mind controlled his Fomor buddy and unloaded a 12gauge right into his face. Head kibble all over the trees. It was HILLARIOUS. Then she cried and puked alot. But I was too busy running and giggling to really judge her for it."

Quinn pulls herself from the pool and digs out fresh sweats from her pack. She always seems to make herself scares when there are too many people about. so she quietly readies her stuff to leave.

Sahael does indeed laugh. "I'm actually sad I missed that part... the crying and barfing... as for the retard noises from the stab... how could you tell?"

Navena arrives, picking her way carefully through the cave toward the Caern, a black satchel slung across one shoulder and resting on the opposite hip. She grins with just a bit of pride as she hears the topic of Cynthia's conversation, changing direction to join her, "...You were most impressive, I have to admit. You can do some things I've never seen." Her face twists for a moment with concern, "...Has anyone seen Rianna since? We...seemed to strike a nerve with the girl, but I lost track of her."

George nods in response to Buck's greeting and introduction but was interrupted from answering by a runner from the elders with a question that he answers quietly. Turning back to the group he chimes in "And I've learned to do a lot more advanced recon before taking a cub and a kinfolk on a field training exercise. Though, the Dancer and all his fomor are dead and none of us were seriously hurt so....alls well that ends well?"

Sonja smiles warmly to Buck "Would you prefer I call you Buck or Grinnin Vengence Hones in Shadows?" she asks kindly and looks to Zoe "Hello Zoe, I'm Sonja" she says sweetly to the girl. She then looks to Cynthia "I see, very intriguing" she says with a warm smile. She giggles shaking her head at what Cynthia and Sahael are seeking about. She looks to Navena and is about to answer her question about Rianna but decides its best to keep her opinion to herself about the... kinfolk. She rolls her shoulders and looks to George "Anyway I could help with the fire?" she asks sweetly

Quinn sholders her pack and nods over to George "What do you say next time we lead them through a vally, you the Leiutenant and I set up a killing jar." she smirks. "I'll see you later." and she heads off down the path back to town.

Buck is keeping an ear on what the others are discussing but Sonja's question of him grabs his attention. "Ye can call me Buck-rhya." The cowboy says to Sonja. Zoe smiles at the kinfolk woman all dimples and big blue eyes, "Hello, Miss Sonja." Her drawl is much like the Shadow Lords. He nods to George as he announces he has to leave and moves over towards one of the sitting logs to carefully settle on it while lifting Zoe from his back to put her down. "Stay close." He tells the child before she scampers off nearby.

Cynthia grins "Well he went crosseyed and his tongue was started hanging out so I think the knife was playing havok with his brain meats." She looks over at Navena and thinks back "Someone got her out of the tree I left her in right? Cause leaving someone that has panic attacks about blood and gore stuck in a gore splattered tree. That would be terrible." She bursts out giggling before nodding to George "Wasn't till we got up close and got a good look at the camp. They were trying to be their version of subtle but the way the shit, meat and beer cans were laid out in a ritual gave it away. Plus my WyrmDar went off hard. But I'm sure it was a learning experience for the cubbies."

Sahael chuckles and shakes his head. "It was a better test for them as cubs than mine was I can say that much." he looks towards the cave mouth. "Should I go track her down? Seems I'm good at that kind of thing."

Sonja looks to Quinn "It was a pleasure meeting you Quinn." She then smiles to Buck "Thank you Buck-rhya, would it be alright if I played patty-cake with Miss Zoe?" she asks sweetly as she looks back to Zoe and smiles sweetly as she gestures her towards her. Her eyes then flit to Cynthia as she speaks with Sahael, giggling softly once more.

Navena chuckles soft and nods, "It was a learning experience for me, and I'm sure that applied to most of us. I was glad to have a group...I'll have to check in on Rianna at some point. She's not been wonderful at making friends of late, but that's hardly a reason to leave her with her nightmares." The Hindu woman turns to Sonja, smiling and offering her hand, "...Navena, incidentally. I saw you the other day but...wasn't the most wonderful time for introductions." To Saheal she nods, "...Or if you know her better, maybe you should do the tracking. She'll open up more easily to someone she knows."

George shakes his head and shrugs at Sahael "You can check in on her if you'd like, Bryan and I saw her safely back to campus. We figured getting her back into town, surrounded by things that were familiar and safe would be good."

Buck shakes his head, "Naw, you can play with her if you like but she has her own games to play. She's five. He explains to Sonja before taking off his hat and resting it on his knee. He still seems to be listening to the goings on but he's not interupting the conversation George is having.

Cynthia mouths 'open up' to Sahael and nods knowingly at him. "Oh. Yeah, we discovered that she has screaming panic attacks around BSDs. Makes for shitty sneaking but amazing bait. Evil monsters love terrified helpless screaming people. They'll walk right past you trying to find them screamer to get their evil jollies off." Cynthia looks over to George "I don't know what your Theurges got going on, but if you ever want I can take your cubbies and youngins on a spirit training and umbral obstacle course. I even promise to bring most of them back."

Sonja smiles happily "Thank you Buck-Rhya, I adore little ones." She then looks to Zoe "So Miss Zoe, what would you like to play?" she asks sweetly, her attention focused upon the little girl now.

Sahael laughs to Cynthia and nods. "Exactly! That's why I make such great bait around hives."

George frowns and shrugs about what Cynthia said "I knew she had history that made her a touch twitchy around warforms but I didn't know it was that bad. We adapted and dealt with it though. I'm a fan of cross training personally but you'll have to ask the trainees if they're interested, my style of leading people into dangerous situations and making sure they don't die isn't going to wind up being a popular teaching style I don't think."

Zoe looks towards Sonja and smiles, "I was going to make mud houses." She points to the tiny pile of sticks she's created. Buck frowns a bit at something he hears but still seems intent on staying out of the Elder Garou's hair. Zoe sets a few more sticks down and then looks around. "We need water." She's very articulate for such a small human.

Navena turns her offered handshake into a brief wave for the little Zoe and manages to do it with a minimum of awkwardness, turning her attention back to Cynthia, George, and Sahael, "...That depends entirely on how good you are at the second part...I'd certainly be interested in the training, but now I'm wondering if I'd need more training just to survive the obstacle course. Bit of a catch 22."

Cynthia waves dismissively at George making psshhh sounds "I wasn't hurt and had a blast. Though I need a new knife." before she grins at Navena "No umbral realms to begin with at first. Are you a Theurge or something else? If you're a Theurge the next question is if you have the big two rituals for us spiritualist types. Summon and Binding? The other big thing is identifying spirits, their associations, abilities and loyalties."

You paged Cynthia with 'Is it just me or buck just sitting there metaposing at me judgmentally?'

Cynthia pages: Hmm, don't know if he was judging you, I thought some of it was directed at me, since I was talking about stabbing and laughing at someones suffering and you're just the biggest rank in the conversation.

Long distance to Cynthia: George shrugs "I'm just going to ignore it and move on"

George grins at Navena and shrugs as he considers "Its all about manuverability and evasion. Personally I can just about guarantee a kill every six to twelve seconds, you just have to dodge around long enough to get bailed out or get an attack of opportunity in."

Sahael nods. "I can garuntee once I get into Scooby Doo mode it'll take ore than six seconds for someone to kill me. Have to catch me before anything."

Navena shakes her head with a laugh, "...Six to twelve, eh? Maybe I'll get there at some point. I was just trying to pull my weight." A nod to Cynthia, "...Theurge, yes, but my knowledge about specific rites is...a bit lacking. I'm not familiar with those two...I can talk to them and thus far that's about all. So any instruction would be useful."

Rianna comes making her way into the caern. She still looks pale and shaken, and just a little bit haunted. But now she carries a large Bowie knife in her hand. Doing her very best to flip and flourish it as she goes.

Cynthia shakes her head at Navena "Don't fight like them. You should prepare for any fight you can. And by prepare I mean you should be standing back orchestrating the destruction of your foes. For us, unless we wanna get down and dirty a fight should look more like we're playing Pokemon. Oh and it should never be fair. Fair is for chumps." Cynthia thinks for a bit and smiles "I can teach you the rituals. These two are the same across pretty much all the Fera as they're direct gifts from the Weaver in ancient times." Cynthia hops to her feet giving Rianna a wave before she continues her discussion. "A prepared spiritualist should terrify as our power is that of our pacts. You cut deals for spirits to come to your aid. You get a Wind Spirit and a Glass spirit working together and throw your enemies into shattered glass tornados. Spirits of Earth and Fire march at your command. If you've seen the movie the Mummie, and the guy that can cause sand to rise up with his face and eat planes. THAT is what we can do through our pacts. You just gotta arrange a special effects budget ahead of time and spend it wisely."

George nods to Cynthia about teaching Navena, because him teaching a theurge those rites would be more than a little socially awkward. Rianna's entry gets a tenative wave as he asks "Feeling better this morning?"

Navena blinks, cocking her head to one side before breaking into a grin, "...You know. I can't say I've dealt with anyone who has put it in quite those terms before, but it makes sense. I certainly wasn't in my element muscling up for the fight...a matter of preparedness. Yes, I can see that. I would be honored to learn." She nodding now, her mind working, though she looks up as a flourish from Rianna's knife draws her attention. Her smile is as wide and automatic as ever, though her eyes are concerned, "Rianna. Good to see you. How're you today?"

Rianna glances towards George. "Um. Hi," she says. Her voice subdued and quiet. "I. Didn't sleep. Like. At all. But. I had some coffee. And. I think I'm doing better now." She lifts a hand to run through her hair. "I'm still feeling kind of weird. From pushing that. Thing. You know. It was. Dirty. On the inside."

Rianna nods to Navena as well. "Hey."

Sonja comes back onto the caern after walking and Buck and Zoe for a moment. She has a warm smile upon her lips as she looks back to the group. When her eyes land upon Rianna however she freezes in her steps. A soft glare is delivered upon Rianna before she looks to the rest of the group "I'm sorry, I must be going, I have some things I need to tend to at the house for Leandro" she says sweetly and turns back around to make her way back out.

Trekome hasn't seemed to have slept either from how he keeps nodding off randomly or zoning out from his quiet section out of sight and mind. "Sup?" he finally says.

Cynthia giggles at Rianna and gives her a thumbs up "Hey Murder Buddy! Good job out there. The look on their faces was PRICELESS. Well. One of their faces. Stumpy's look was kinda scattered over a bit of landscape." before she grins over at Navena "I can also introduce you to some spirits I know. Your budget is dictated by the chiminages. For example I'm working on adding a fire elemental to my stable of spirit allies. The first batch at work that I bake, I let burn as an offering to him, now in exchange for that he'll show up and light someone on fire for me. He won't stick around unless I'm in the Umbra, but he will show up and insure that the person I pick is on motherfucking FIRE before leaving again. Minor act on my part gets a minor act on his part. Now if I was willing to burn some people at the stake for him, or set fire to some very expensive art, then he might be willing to do way more."

George grins and shrugs at Rianna "That's probably because there were three of you in there sharing space for a second. The poor bastard who's meat was there, you and the bane that had twisted him. We can arrange for a cleansing ritual if you want."

Rianna looks towards Cynthia. With the dark circles under her eyelids, her Owly Eyes could put her in the runnings for the Siouxsie Sioux Lookalike Contest. "Um. Yeah. Sure." She looks back to George. "But. We got them all. Right? We stopped them." To his offer of a cleansing ritual, she nods. "Yes. Please. That would be. Nice." She looks down at the knife in her hand and tries to flip it again. "I need to learn how to use this," she says.

Navena winces, just noticably, at Cynthia's compliment. Her tone is softer and a little more generalized without the triggering details, "...You helped us out there, and I appreciate it. Thank you. Sorry it was a long night, but hopefully time will help a bit. I doubt anything actually stuck with you, but it couldn't have been pleasant to be in there. But you helped make things safer, for everyone. That's good work." To Cynthia she nods, expression turning speculative, "...I need to do more of that. I keep forgetting that their definition of minor and ours is a little different. I keep trying for a fair trade...but for them, a burnt offering every day for the occasional immolation IS probably a fair trade...if not pulling one over on -us-."

Cynthia shifts her focus back smiling animatedly, spirit stuff is her stuff, as she nods "Exactly. We have to keep in mind that reaching across the Gauntlet takes lots of effort. Also depending on the spirit. Elementals are focused on their thing and don't like to deviate from it. They are also sorta simple until you get into the spirits of man and such. The Spirits of Man those being things like the house gnomes, gribblies under the stairs and tooth faeries are more human due to their connection to them and thus understands higher concepts. But a household spirit is still bound to its purpose and if attached to a family will FUCK your shit up if you mess with that family. Once you start getting up into concept spirits and bygones then you get spirits that will appreciate esoteric trades."

George nods to Rianna as Cynthia and Navena keep talking spirit talker business "Excellent plan and I actually finished something I think you'll like. They aren't functional for staking or anything but they'll be enough to get us started." he says and takes a pair of carved wooden fighting knives out of his satchel.

Rianna looks to those knives and owly-eyes again. "Oooh... -George-... those are... -awesome-." She sheaths the Bowie knife at her hip and reaches out for them. "Can I?" she asks, looking up at the elder Strider.

Navena glances at Rianna with a faint smile...Empathetic or not, George has probably banished distress for at least the short term. She turns her attention back to the spirit talking Ratkin, "...That would make sense. Maybe that's why I've been having trouble actually..." Her tone turns thoughtful as she muses, then blinks, "...Sorry, I mean...I have an easy time talking to most of the spirits in the city, something to do with how I look in the Umbra, so I've been sticking to them...if they tend to be a little more complex in nature, than I could have been handicapping my understanding rather than taking the easy way. Maybe I need to start with some elementals?"

Trekome sits up and stretches. "Speaking of spirits, Navena.... turns out my pistol is a fetish... but I need help hearing it to know how to make it happy. Think you could help me with that?"

Cynthia thinks for a moment then shakes her head and makes a pinching size motion "Entsy issue there. You'll have more success with spirits of light and innovation than with your normal elemental forces because.. Your tribe sucks. They're sorta considered jack booted lackeys of the Weaver. That's why we fuck with your shit when we get the chance. Cause you've sold out to The Man. Or rather your tribe has. Spirits associated with humans, the Weaver and cities will recognize you as a kindred spirit and deal a bit more fairly with you. Spirits of nature, the skies and the natural world will give you shit and try to cheat you cause your personal spiritual associations suck." Cynthia gives a little shrug "Now as a Theurge you can work around this. Either by finding City Spirits who's associations are what you need or by cultivating your rep with the Naturae." She grins at her little joke. Cultivating. Naturae. Heh. "But Spirits of Man will react best to you always and you'll have to pay a you tax to spirits of nature."

George grins and nods to Rianna as he holds them out to her hilt first. Sure they're made of wood but their still knife shaped and best to keep to discipline early. "They're not my best work but they'll do for now. If I can find some good quality oak or other hardwood I can make you some that you could actually use like for real. To bludgeon people with or to make leech kabobs if you ever found a need to."

Navena looks startled, but there seems to be a point where Cynthia is so blunt that it loops back around and makes it impossible to be offended by her, "...Ah...well, nothing worth doing is easy, I guess. And I'm sure the tree huggers have equal problems trying to rustle up help in the middle of Las Vegas. But good to know. I've dealt with people who don't care for me before. I'm sure I can do the same for spirits." She smiles at Trekome, raising her eyebrows, "...A fetish, you say? In a pistol? Now that's interesting...I would think that's something I might be able to help with. Pistols sound like something unlikely to flip the Glass Walkers the bird on principle."

Rianna takes the knives in her hands, looking them over reverently. She strikes a pose like she were in a wuxia movie, all big sweeping circles and pirouettes. "Thank you, George. So much. I hope I can pay you back someday." She looks towards Cynthia and Navena. "When I was six years old, I watched Black Spiral Dancers murder my mom and dad," she says. "Last night... I kind of... went back to that night, for a moment. I couldn't help it. But. I'm getting stronger. Someday, I'll be able to handle it better." She looks back to George. "So how do these work?" she asks. "I mean. Besides sticking the pointy end in people?"

Trekome chuckles and nods. "Apparently grandpa was a badass on Iwo and managed to earn himself a fetish. Or at least that's how I think he got it... Selene only got one answer from him during the Rite of Heritage the other night, and that was about his time in the Corps. But the pistol is GI issue, so... yeah. She said ask a Glass Walker Theurge about it." He blinks a bit at Rianna and hides a grin at the last part. "Stabbity stabbity, or smack smack. No slashy slashy with that type of knife."

Trekome is definitely still half asleep.

Cynthia looks between Trekome and Navena "Yep! Oh guns. Here's the downlow on them. The thing about guns is that for the most part they're mass produced. They get churned out, used and discarded. They are like that nerd in highschool that everyone ignored cause he was just another geeky guy with a thing for anime, but what people didn't know is that he had a HUGE cock and the stamina of a horse. But if you notice them, make them feel you care and you've got a potent ally. You keep a hold on one, use it, name it, decorate it then you make it feel pretty. Suddenly it's more loyal to you. Shoots truer." she points to Trekome "If you cannot get a direct answer from the gun then you need to speak to it's commanding officer. Which might be a good way to learn how to Summon properly."

George nods and grins as he reaches over set Rianna's hand in a proper fighting grip on one of the wooden practice knives he made her "We'll start with holding it right, then drawing it right, then foot work and body position. And eventually sparring."

Navena can't help herself from laughing quietly, "...Guns have huge...well, the things you learn as a Theurge.." She looks to Trekome thoughtfully, "I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you're the type that doesn't let more than a few weeks go by without taking it apart and giving it a good cleaning, whether you intend to use it or not. I wouldn't think the devotion would be shown already." She pauses, considering, before looking back to Cynthia, "...Or is that the equivilant of lifting up a spirit's skirt every couple of weeks? I could see the privacy issue."

Rianna nods her head. "Right on," she says. "Thank you, George. You've done so much to help me." Despite her wan appearance, she manages a small smile. "Someday, I'll be able to show those Get jackholes a thing or two and make 'em -eat- their words."

George grins at Rianna and shakes his head "You're entitled to your feelings of course but they have their ways just as you have yours. We all need to get along so we can focus on the real enemy. I'm not teaching you how to knife fight so you can go pick a fight with the Fenrir, understand?"

Rianna nods her head. "I know," she says. "And I won't. Go picking fights. That's now how I do. You know? But. Someday, they'll look down their noses at me one too many times, and they'll see me staring right back."

Cynthia laughs and winks at Navena "Cleaning a gun is a ritual. Every military person I've seen takes them apart, cleans and puts them back together the same way. It's like a prayer. A fetish weapon that goes uncared for, with no prayers to it, will go into slumber and stop working. Or worse. Backfires, ricochetes will strike things or people you care about and jams at times you really need reliability." Cynthia thinks for a moment as her brainmeat churn "Clashing Boom Boom also called Ares or Mars by some is the avatar of war. Favors the Glass Walkers, soldiers and weapons of war. Summoning a spirit connected to it would give insight into the weapon, the spirit in it and its history."

Trekome raises a brow, "Couple weeks? I take her out to the range every other day and clean he right after. I made sure to get fresh springs and have worn parts replaced too. Maybe I need to use another lube with her? Or different ammo... Or she might be upset that I didn't know she's there..." Yes, she. "Or maybe she doesn't like being named Uriel?"

Navena covers her smile with one hand at Trekome's devotion to the weapon that he didn't realize had a spirit in it before, "...You named it...before you knew what it was?" She asks, amused, then quickly explains, "Spirits have a heirarchy, rankings. Local smaller ones owe...well, something akin to alliegance to a more powerful spirit, who probably pays homage to something bigger up the line. I don't think its exactly military but its a good way to look at it. So we might be able to track down a spirit in the same family. Non commisioned, I suppose. Right, miss?"

George nods to Rianna and smiles "I wouldn't be surprised, between you and Teagen I imagine they're going to have their hands full." Turning to Trekome he adds "I told you I learned marksmanship from a Fullmoon Glass Walker right? I got a prayer he taught me that I can share. Its a thing with them I guess."

Trekome blinks. "Why wouldn't I name her? Wouldn't you?" The idea of not naming his favorite firearm seems unfathomable. "I didn't even know fetishes existed until a couple weeks ago. I feel kinda bad about it..." He nods to George, "I'd appreciate it." He blinks. "Maybe she's angry that I swapped out the original grips... they had a carving on one... but they were really worn too and i thought new ones would be better for it."

Cynthia nods to Navena "In this case Ares is at the top of that tree, below it is spirits of rightious insurgency, loyal soldiers, guerilla warfare and last stands and so forth. Below them are the individual Gods prayed to by different military groups, which in this land would be Admiral Nimitz, Chesty Puller and Audie Murphy. Below that is the spirits overseeing specific kinds of weapons." She looks over when Trekome mentions the grips and carvings. She snaps her fingers "That might be an issue, the carving might have been significant to the fetish itself. Not to mention having the blood and sweat of every person that weilded it soaked in."

Rianna takes a few steps back and starts running through a few of the steps George demonstrated for her. Adding flourishes of her own. She does move with quite a bit more fluidity than when she first arrived. The girl has been practicing.

Selene arrives at the Caern in much the same fashion the Get of Fenris usually arrives. She is padding along on her bare feet, easily moving with a light gait over the stones and dirt. The tall blue eyed Nordic woman takes in those present with a casual aloofness as she approaches. Her hand rises in greeting towards Trekome, Cynthia, and George. Thats the direction her feet carry her, angling towards those discussing the fetish.

Navena taps her chin thoughtfully for a moment, "...That might be it. Certainly a reason to hold a bit of a grudge, missing an important bit of itself. I'm guessing you probably discarded the old grips? We might have to try creating another to replace what was lost." She's standing with Cynthia and Trekome, though George and Rianna aren't far away, the latter practicing with a set of wooden carved practice knives. Selene receives a respectful bow of the head as she pads over, "Good to see you again. How are you?"

George nods as he considers "But he cares for her, that should help and if nothing else Navena and you can help him contact the spirit in the gun if this prayer doesn't do the trick." Turning to Trekome he stands up straight, sounding a little bit formal "Then hear now the words of Breaker-of-Seiges, passed to me by Fires-of-War. Down through the ages one Gunslinger to another."

"No pretendo con mi mano, y el que se propone con la mano ha olvidado el rostro de su padre. Mi objetivo con mi ojo."

"Yo no disparo con la mano, y el que dispara con la mano ha olvidado el rostro de su padre. Yo disparé con mi mente."

"Yo no mato con mi arma, y el que mata con la pistola ha olvidado el rostro de su padre. Mato con mi corazón ".

Trekome looks mortified for a moment. "Throw out grandpa's grips?!" He clears his throat and shakes his head. "I have them in his locker with his personal effects... I'll swap them out, and then see if I can talk to her and see if new carved grips are acceptable." Apparently grandpa's stuff is a big deal. He dips his head to Selene, "Good evening, ma'am, it's nice to see you again. I have the leather and furs for Urd in my hut if she's able to make use of them."

Trekome listen to George quietly, though he looks lost. "Can you write it down, please..? I'm going to need to read it over a few times to remember."

Rianna glances up as Selene makes her entrance. She says nothing. She simply goes back to running through her exercises. Step, jab. Turn, jab. Simple, basic forms. She'll be a knife fighter yet, but it's going to take some time.

Cynthia nods listening, she gives a wave of greeting to Selene as she slowly rises and stretches. "Well, have fun all." Cynthia grins over at Navena "We'll do some city based activity. Start where you're strong right?"

Selene smiles towards Navena, "Greetings, Brick-Layer." she says with a smiles towards the other woman. "I am well, thank you." She does go quiet though, looking curiously to Trekome then towards George. Her head inclines, her eyes dipping a bit as she says politely. "Greetings, Mocks-the-Dark-Rhya." She turns her gaze to Trekome, and nods. "I can bring them back for her." But Selene is listening it seems, as the others all discusss the fetish. A wave is returned to Cynthia, with a friendly smile.

Kathryn walks into the area with a huge overstuffed messenger bag in orange and purple strapped to her back

Navena beams in Cynthia's direction, "...I'd like that. I've learned a great deal listening to you talk for a few minutes. I'm sure I'll learn more training out in the world." She looks relieved at Trekome, "...That's good. Why don't we start there, then? Restore it to its former configuration. Make sure you treat the cleansing as even more of a ritual. No distractiosn, thank it for its service. With luck, Cynthia can teach me how to reach it, in order to help you."

George nods and grins to Selene, in recognition of her greeting before he replies to Trekome "Sure I can, in spanish and english both. You can even translate it into something else if that works for you, every Gunslinger first hears the prayer in the birth tongue of Breaker-of-Sieges though, to honor his memory."

Rianna relaxes her stance, looking down at the knives her hands. She starts trying to flip them over, getting all fancy-dancy. Well. She -tries- to get fancy dancy, at the very least. She only drops one, however, bungling the flip and letting the wooden blade clatter to the floor. She looks back towards the Garou, biting her lip as she bends down to scoop it up. She -totally- meant to do that.

Trekome nods to Navena, "I'll do that... I don't think there's much more I can do to show her respect, she already stays by my side and gets more love than my fiance did... ... and now I know why I never had a relationship last." He raises a brow when Selene greets George and blinks. "Mocks the Dark... rhya?" Oddly, it hadn't fully occurred to him that George was of high rank. "I'd appreciate it, sir."

Kathryn does her stand at the edge of the crowd thing and watches the people.

Meave wanders into the caern and pauses as she sees the crowd here. By now, at least some of the faces look familiar and she waves at everyone. "Oy, 'ow is the day goin' fer everyone 'ere? Ok an' all I 'ope?" her gaze settles on Rianna as she gives her a smile then she looks to Trekome, perhaps a bit curious about the topic of conversation.

Selene glances up and nods her head towards Kathryn as she enters. She does speak after hearing a bit of the conversation. "I am glad Trekome was able to find others more able to assist him." She does sound relieved, 'It was not my area of expertise." Selene glances over as she hears the clatter, but there is no judgemental expression on her face. When Rianna goes to scoop it up she just lets her gaze wander back to those around her. Selene glances towards Trekome, and smiles softly, "Yes. Mocks-the-Dark-rhya." She repeats, but she does not introduce the ranking Garou. It was his choice to do that or not!

Kathryn says "Hello."

Navena blinks, cocking her head at Trekome, "You had a fiance?" A moment, and her cheeks darken, "...Sorry, that came out worse than I meant it. I just...you never struck me much as the family type, is all." Which didn't come out much better and the small woman waves cheerfully to Kathryn, then shakes her head to Selene, totally not changing the topic, "...I'm guessing you helped him quite a bit, Voice of Fire-rhya, even if it wasn't your area. I hear he was able to ask questions of his ancestors...that's a valuable, valuable thing."

George cracks his neck as he stands up a little straighter when Selene gives Trekome correction "Its like not having to salute an officer when he's out of uniform, I don't make an issue about airs and graces but I suppose a full n.r.s. sort of introduction is in order. Since I'm pretty sure I've not been introduced to you or a few of the others how some of the more conservative sept members would consider properly."

"I am George Andrews, rited 'Mocks the Dark' from my taunting of the Specters in my Rite of Passage, 'Trains the Weak' for my service in teaching the kin of this sept how to hide and protect themselves, 'Kills in Silence' for ending of four war twisted Fomor and leaving no clue or sign for the Wyrm loyal handlers to know why. Homid born Adren Ragabash of the Silent Striders Called Harmerti and Speaker to the Dead for the Remembrance and special blessings of my tribe. Scout, Thief and sniper for my skills. Wielder of the Fang of Anubis. Beta for the Misfits pack, servants of Peregrine."

"My tribe is the Silent Striders, we stand between the living and the dead, we hunt secrets in dark places, we carry messages of import and news between septs and holdings. We are the voice on the wind and the claws in the dark. We are the Silent Striders, Owl's favored children."

Trekome suddenly remembers his rather fiery introduction from George and grins a bit. "Ok, now things make a little more sense... A pleasure to learn from you, Mocks-The-Dark-rhya. So... do I still call you George, or..?" It's actually an honest question, not him being cheeky. He smirks at Navena, "Two fiances. One just wanted half my paycheck and I wisened up, the other... now I know why it's called 'The Curse'." He shrugs. Might explain him being a flirt.

Kathryn sits down and stays quiet.

Selene smiles towards Navena, "Thank you." She says simply, "I was pleased to be able to help him find his past. And more pleased that others can help him with his fetish, as such devices..." She makes a finger-wiggly motion at the gun, clearly not entirely comfortable with it. Guns, bleh! But she goes completely silent as George introduces himself, her head tilting again to the side as she listens to his full title.

Meave bows her head politely in George's direction to acknowledge and show respect, "The striders are much needed fer all o' us and I dinnae think anyone will disagree wit' that." she then looks at anyone who might not officially know who she is and states, "Meave o' the Fianna born on two legs, an' also known as Sings the Dream. Galliard an' cliath and mated to the most wonderful man in the world, Devlin"

Rianna watches the Garou introducing each other. Turning, she slips out of the caern, still working on flipping those knives in her hands.

Navena also turns to listen respectfully to George's full title, taking her cue from Selene. Only when its entirely finished does she nod to the much larger woman, "As I am learning, we all have our specialities. It is our strength, so no one person does everything. There would not be time to master -all- the arts that must be mastered alone." So gives a bow of her head to Meave in turn, as she has not been introduced to the Fianna, "Navena Pillai, Brick-Layer. Born of two legs beneath the crescent moon. Cliath, and a follower of the cochroach. A pleasure."

Navena is finding the long introductions easier over time, and she barely stumbled on this recitation

Kathryn flips her bag from back to front and leans on it. She waves to people she knows.

George settles back down a bit, relaxing almost like putting on a different face once its all said and done "I don't really bother with the whole thing, less its a formal moot or some other ritual occasion. I generally let people call me what's comfortable for them, what they pick and why they pick tells me plenty."

Selene nods her head towards Navena. "You are getting much more comfortable with your titles, Brick-Layer." She says quietly, a small bit of praise for the other woman. Selene does give Meave a briefly amused smile at the ending of Meaves introduction. That was new, from the last time Selene had heard the greeting.

Kathryn sneaks her hand into her bag and fusses with something a little then stops.

Trekome nods to George slightly, "I've gotten used to calling you George from being around town... might turn heads if I started calling you sir." he says with a chuckle. "Might slip out of habit though." He turns to Navena, "So, grips, commune, and reconcile?"

Navena nods to Trekome, "That would be my recommendation. You made a mistake, but you meant well, and you've still been taking care of it. Lets fix things, and give it a little time to adjust and forgive, and we'll see if we can't draw it out." She sighs a moment, glancing toward the entrance to the Caern, "...Unfortunately, speaking of not having enough time to do everything...I think I've run out of it myself, at least for tonight. I have a few rounds to make."

Trekome smiles and dips his head, "Will do. I appreciate the help, and I'll show you the old grips once I put them on. You might like them too."

Tyler walks with Rhyanon, the two of them staying close as they make their way back into the caverns. The two of them talking, but that goes quiet as they notice they are getting closer to others. He looks around to those gathered and tries to find a familiar face, he stops on George giving a soft nod.

Meave finally just decides to settle down on a rock to rest a moment. As everyone chats back and forth she's silent for now, which may be a bit unique.

Rhya had been quietly conversing with Tyler as they walked, but as they arrived at the Caern, she fell silent just as he did. Though when she catches sight of George, she lifts a hand to wave to the fellow, offering a warm smile. "Hope you're doing well, George?" she says, her friendly voice carrying as she and her mate draw nearer.

George smiles and waves to Tyler before he snickers at Trekome "I don't hold with a lot of the super formal stylings most of the time, you'll catch on quick when it matters though. It does tend to help people that Luna's blessed with an over abundance of rage, you don't need to make a choice about what to say when etiquette has decided for you." Navena gets a farewell nod "I'm sure I'll be seeing you around." Only /then/ does he turn back to Rhyanon "I'm doing well, and you two?"

Navena chuckles her agreement to George, "...No doubt, and no doubt it'll be exciting, if past history is any indication." She nods to both Trekome and Selene, "Any time. If I can ever help either of you, please don't hesitate to ask. It's what we do." She moves her way out of the Caern, smiling her greeting at Rhya and Tyler, though she doesn't halt her exit.

With the friendly nod from George, Tyler moves forward to join him, he lets Rhyanon answer his question as it was directed to her. He looks over at the others and tries to make heads or tails of what's going down right now.

Rhyanon follows Tyler over to where George is and looks over at her mate with a bit of a smile. It's somewhat tentative but ... there's warmth in it too. "Oh, pretty good, I think," she says. "Glad to hear things are going well with you. What's been going on?" She's downright talkative compared to the last time she was here. And she's looking around at her surroundings with bright and eager blue eyes.

Selene waves as Navena heads off, and again as Meave does the same. And Trekome. And Kathryn. In fact, it seems like with the arrival of Rhyanon and Tyler, it helped to offset at least the sudden exodus. Selene smiles towards the newcomers, and gives them a polite nod as tey come over towards George, where she herself is standing as well.

George grins at Rhyanon "Well my alpha and I took a cub and a couple of Cliath out on a training exercise last night. Things got a little more....energetic than I planned but the kids got the job done. It was pretty impressive."

Kathryn sneaks her hand into her bag and fusses with something a little then stops.

Tyler nods to George, "That's good to hear. Do the packs do a lot of training here?" he coming back to the conversation. "I'm sorry that I haven't been around to see you again after our first meeting. I've been busy getting my business ready to open."

George chuckles and shrugs "Well, one of the Cliath was from another pack and the other is new to the sept. The cub's a lost one and we're helping out as he gets his feet under himself prepping for his rite of passage. My Alpha's the sept Den Father, so our pack in particular does a lot of making sure people get training opportunities all around."

Tyler nods, "How is your pack doing right now?" he asks even if it might be looked at as rude and personal question. He looks to Kathryn as she speaks up and he nods to her before looking back. "Perhaps I should look into doing some if this training as well?" he glances back to Rhya a moment.

Rhyanon bites her lip. The "training" idea isn't really hers. It's Tyler's... but ... She swallows. "I'll sign up for things like that if they're available," she says. She tries to sound confident when she says that. "I'm told I could learn a bit better how to defend myself." She smiles a little.

George chuckles at Rhyanon "I am going to have to get more people involved that know wood carving to make decent practice knives. I've been teaching one of the Children of Gaia kinfolk beginner knife fighting. That and some regular physical training are excellent places to start." Turning to Tyler he adds "I can add your name to the list for our rotation if you want. Anything in particular you feel like you need to work on?" as an aside to Kathryn "Well, maybe now that Navena's in town we can find you a tutor that matches your tribe if not your auspice. Other than that you haven't even learned to do what you're told and leave your weaver toys home, why would I give you any other of my style training when you're obviously not suited to it?"

Kathryn says "What weaver toys? My stuff isn't toys thank you." She's getting a little grouchy.

Connor would be finding his way down the path again, his arms folded comfortably up behind his head as he approached, that grin of his evident on his face as he spots a few faces he knows, one of his hands lifting from behind his head to offer a wave before settling back down

Rhyanon nods at George's words. "Starting" is exactly where she'll have to be. She just listens to the conversation and stays silent for now, though she glance at Tyler every now and again to see his reaction to stuff. When Connor arrives, she grins and waves to him.

Tyler shrugs to George, "Just sign me up, I'll spend time finding what I need to learn." He says and glances back nodding to Connor before turning to talk to George again. "Careful with Rhyanon, she's tougher than she looks, that means she'll end up getting herself in trouble." He says it, but it's clear it's purely in jest.

Kathryn smiles "I am better fighter than you'd think."

George rolls his eyes at Kathryn, waving absently at Connor as he answers her "Its not about your fighting ablility, its your inability to obey the decrees of the Elders and the instruction of your superiors. You've been told more than once that this place is not for reveling in the things of the weaver and to leave your assorted devices at home because you needed to learn to get in touch with your wolf nature. You have ignored this instruction and defied that decree so I've given up on you. Let your own people see to your training, maybe they'll have better luck getting you to follow orders."

Rianna comes making her way into the caern, those wooden knives in her hands. She's given up on trying to flip them, and is now just sort of passing them back and forth, cutting a figure S pattern before her as she goes. Every now and again, she tries some of the moves George taught her. Step, jab. Turn, jab. Simple and elementary. She has a lot to learn yet. "Hey guys. What's up?" she says, glancing around at the others.

Did he actually just pay her a compliment? For a moment, Rhyanon blinks, then she smiles a little. "I'll do my best to learn whatever I can, George. I just need the chance to try." That's about all she can say about it for now since she doesn't really know what he has in mind - or who would teach her, since it doesn't seem like he would himself. As Rianna enters, she smiles and nods. "Hi."

Kathryn opens her bag and starts taking things out. Gym clothes, books and notebooks. Oh so many notebooks. "Weaver toys? Not seeing any."

Tyler might have been giving Rhya a complement, it's not known and it may never be! He steps back as George starts to talk with Kathryn. He looks back down to Rhyanon and nods to her comments. "You might be good with firearms as well," he says to her in thought.

George raises an eyebrow at Kathryn "You've been reaching into that bag and pockets and moping at people in like you've been fidgeting with weaver tech you've snuck into the caern against orders but now that I call you on you're going to insist there's no contraband? Even if there's none this time its not relevant. Look to your own tribe for training, the decision was made long before today. If nothing else Fixes-the-Net should have see to your lessons, I'll add that delinquency to the list of his sins."

Kathryn nods and doesn't bother speaking anymore. She's a cub and doesn't bother debating.

Rianna sheaths the knives into her belt, stepping over to George. A glance is shot towards Selene, before she regards the elder Strider. "Mocks-the-Dark-rhya, I -do- have a question about that," she says. "I've seen Trekome in here with his guns before. And I've used my smartphone to help me track my fitness regimen. I keep it in airplane mode so it's not looking for signal or anything. But. I'm just curious. How much is -too- much Weaver? I mean. If you want to get technical, our -clothes- are of the Weaver. -Anything- shaped by our hands could be of the Weaver. Am I right?"

Kathryn puts all her stuff away and listens.

Rhyanon moves off with Tyler as George and Kathryn get into it - but Rianna's question keeps her interested in the conversation. Though she does look up at Tyler and nod. "I could learn about guns, sure," she says. "My dad did teach me a little about that. Though I didn't have much time to practice. I guess he figured I'd have time." She sighs a little and shrugs.

Tyler soon steps back and bows to the others, "I think it's time for us to take off for how. George, please let me know when you'll be doing training? We are both at your service." He looks back to Rhyanon and thinks about what plans he should make as well.

Selene has been watching and listening all this time! Because she was totally here. She didn't say anything as George talks to Kathryn, and then Rianna addresses him. Selene returned the look shot her way calmly, before she too looks curiously towards George for his answer. Frankly, she had no idea either!

George nods at Rianna as he considers "I suppose your right and to be specific Sha'ul's handgun at least is a Fetish won for valor in battle by his grandfather. So it doesn't count. Technically the smart phone would be too much but you've been using it as a training aid so its been let slide. I suppose a weapon here or there isn't a big deal either but a hand held video game? a lap top? Trying to get a cell tower put up on the hill above us and run cable down to the caern? Those things are fundamentally not okay."

Selene nods her head quietly, "Thank you, Mocks-The-Dark-Rhya." She says quietly, before she turns her own gaze towards Rianna and offers some information. "Every Sept, and every tribe, is different. Where I am from, no one was permitted to own anything not made by the hands of those that lived there. All tools, all weapons, all belongings were forged or crafted by skilled kinfolk or Garou." She rolls her shoulders. "Obviously, that is... not as possible with more potent weaver-tech."

Kathryn holds up her hand "I do not want a cell tower up stairs and cable run down to the caern. That wasn't me."

Connor kept himself quiet as he approached the group, sliding his hands down from behind his head to rest easily across his chest, shifting his weight to settle comfortably against a leg

Devlin is showing up with a duffel of supplies again for the Caern. Nothing said on his part as he hears the comments about the tech being partly banned here.

Rianna nods her head slowly. She cocks her head to one side. "But I still don't understand the aversion to the Weaver," she says. "Why are the Garou so opposed to her? I thought they fought for spiritual balance. That part of the reason Gaia has become endangered is because the Wyrm has grown so strong."

Selene seems about to voice an answer, before she closes her mouth and instead turns her gaze towards Georges waist, waiting patiently for the senior Garou to explain.

Quinn comes for a visit though it's unusual at this time of day. she nods in greeting to George and Devlin staying quiet for the moment to test the waters of the conversations.

Devlin as things are quiet takes the duffel over to where the supplies are stored and then returns. Seeing Quinn he walks over and says quietly to her, "The old no tech question has come up and being discussed."

George scratches his chin when he realizes that everyone's LOOKING AT HIM. Eventually he does answer Rianna "The weaver aversion is less about a lack of balance and more because the Weaver's the one who drove the Wyrm mad. The Weaver grew frustrated that everything given order eventually fell to entropy so an attempt was made by the Weaver to stop all Entropy by binding the Wyrm into stasis. The resulting conflict threw all three parts of the Triat out of balance. The ultimate expression, as I understand it, of the weaver's madness is the gauntlet separating spirit from flesh. Caerns are a place for communing with the spirit so its generally sought to limit the weaver's influence over such places."

Rianna listens intently, nodding slowly. "I think I understand," she says. "Caerns are places where... the balance is closest to what it should be. But high technology is too much a concentration. Just like... well... like... doing a bunch of Ex or tripping your balls off would bring an unhealthy amount of the Wyld into play." She blushes a bit. "I remember my dad getting angry with a couple of the Kin because they'd been rolling on Ex while at the caern," she says by way of explanation. "I didn't know that that was what it was at the time. But. Yeah."

Quinn says, "There is a question about tech? I'm terrible with computers." she only knows there's a general dislike of tech among garous not about any rules regaurding it. "I know how to use the equipment I'm required to know only."

Selene smiles softly, bowing her head to Georges words. She doesn't seem to feel a need to expand on them, though she does listen to Rianna continue to question George, silent and attentive.

Connor kept himself quiet, nodding faintly as he listens to the back and forth

George nods to Rianna as she expresses understanding "That's also true and an important point I think more people need to understand. Concentrations of Wyld energy might be dangerous in different ways than weaver or wyrm energy but they are /still dangerous/. That's why if you've ever seen me with Chance around I get extra stiff and formal and careful. He might seem friendly and nice. But so does a volcano right before it explodes."

Selene shakes her head at the mention of Chance, and then echoes George, "He is an embodiment of the Wyld. A spirit given form." She doesn't sound entirely approving, but she isn't openly going to insult him. "All of the Triat is dangerous in excess. To all of us. It is why my brothers and I will do what Mocks-The-Dark-Rhya is doing. We become very stiff and formal around Chance. As well as the many other spirits given flesh."

Rianna nods slowly. She finger-waves at Quinn as the woman arrives. "What's up?" she asks. The Lieutenant might notice that Rianna is wearing a pair of wooden knives stuck through her belt. She looks back to George and nods. "He's... different," she says. "I can never put my finger on him. There's always something so..." She waves her hands. "Out of place. About him. You know?"

Kathryn is listening quietly and looks rather put out.

George nods and shrugs at Rianna "He is a spirit of the Wyld that's taken human form to learn about the world and figure out if any of its worth saving. He explained that to me once and then I think he wonders why I found that terrifying."

Selene nods her head quietly to George as he speaks. "He said the same to my Brothers." She says softly, shaking her head a bit. "I am pleased that the Caern is a bit more... limited now. I've heard more then a few kinfolk were uncomfortable around him."

Kathryn sighs and stands up to stretch a little.

Devlin says, "I understand that you brought the concerns you heard and witnessed to the Elders. Thank you, Voice of Fire-rhya." He moves to get some coffee from the pot at the main fire. "When you are a guest.. you respect the customs and traditions of that home.. pitty that they did not seem to understand that. Perhaps now, they will learn and understand."

Rianna nods her head. "Sometimes, it's easy to forget that the Wyld can be just as dangerous as the Wyrm or the Weaver, if taken to its logical conclusion." She pauses. "Or that's just it. There -is- no logical conclusion with the Wyld. Logic has nothing to do with it at all."

The Nordic Get nods to Rianna, "No logic that we can understand, at least. To pretend to be able to understand the Wyld is foolish." She agrees with the other woman, before smiling towards Devlin. "I was asked to do it. I was more then happy to deliver the message."

George nods and shrugs at Rianna "Anyway I've been introduced to another kinfolk in need of knife fighting lessons. She's just begining as well, I think it will help both of you to practice together."

Devlin says, "It has been a pleasure, time for me to head back home. I am sure my mate is expecting me."

Kathryn asks quietly "May I be excused?"

George waves Kathryn off

Rianna glances to Selene. "As you say, Voice-of-Fire-rhya," she says. "And I think that if we -tried- to understand the Wyld... it would change us. That's what it does, isn't it? It... changes. Makes the new out of the old." She then looks to George as he mentions another knife fighter, beaming. "Good! I'd like a sparring partner who's more on my own level," she says. "I've been practicing those moves you showed me. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it." She cocks her head to one side. "Is it anyone I know?" she asks curiously.

Selene nods her head to Rianna, "Yes Aethling." She agrees quietly, "It would change us." She says solemnly. When the conversation moves to training and knife-fighting, she goes respectfully silent so George and Rianna can talk about it.

Selene in fact doesn't hang around to listen. She excuses herself quietly, and pads out of the caern off towards her camp.

George grins and shakes his head at Rianna "Her name is Rhyanon and she's the mate of (insert Tyler's deedname here). Have you met her yet? I am glad you feel like you're getting a hang of things though, hopefully we'll be on to sparring soon. If nothing else we can get some chalk powder and you can try and land a touch on me."

Quinn smiles as she approches the Caern. "That sounds like a fun game. I wouldn't mind a chance to play." She always seems to catch the conversation before she is close to it.

Trekome walks in behind Quinn and looks around curiously. "What's this about a game now?"

Rianna giggles. "But that's no fair. You're too fast!" she says. She looks over at Quinn and Trekome. "Hey guys, what's up? George here was just saying I should dust myself up with chalk and try to play tag. That's like asking a kitten to enter the Mortal Kombat tournament against Shang Tsung." She can be -such- a nerd sometimes.

Quinn looks to Trekome "Shang Tsung, is that a General of the yang dynisty?" she seems to remember that name from somewhere. she shrugs at Rianna. "even Kittens have a kill instinct. thats why they play and swipe and shake things. ever see a cat shake a toy? Thats cause they are trying to break the necks of thier prey. Just becuase you think it's cute doesn't mean that they are not preditors."

Connor chuckles faintly, shifting his gaze between the few there "Gotta learn one way, better ta be here safely. Fair? Probably not, but ya get ya licks and learn ya lessons."

George chuckles and shakes his head "Its a character from a videogame and its less about a kitten not being a predator as to being way out their depth."

Trekome chuckles and shakes his head, "Pretty sure that's a Mortal Kombat reference. Oh, I put the old grips on my pistol. I think she feels happier now."

Rianna shakes her head. "I know -that-," she says to Quinn. "But... the point is... I mean... how can I get better if I can't achieve anything at all? You know? With the knives, I can see my progress. I can feel myself growing. But in a tag match with George? There's no was I can compete."

Quinn smirks at Trekome "do you name all you're weapons too. not just your M16 but all your firearms? I named my 1911's before I knew about the damned harry potter twins. but no one believes me" she shares a quick tangent with the Lieutenant. she nods to George "I suppose, though I always felt like I should try harder if I was out of my depths." she nods to Rianna "Some times when I don't think I can do something I try anyway. and even when I fail I find that everything else under it becomes easier"

Connor stretches his arms out over his head briefly before settling them back on his hips looking over to Rianna "So ya need ta learn how ta feel out of your depth, ta known when ta retreat and regroup, that in and of itself is a lesson."

George grins and shrugs at Rianna "Plus, if there's two of you and you're both trying hard.....it be like learning pack tactics. Team work with your little wooden claws. /I/ might wind up even getting a work out."

Trekome smirks, "Uriel and Azrael, my pistol and rifle. The biblical angels of death. My AR is Shepherd and shotgun is Rain. And I only named my favorites."

Quinn says, "Azrael... I really like that one." she looks over to George "The two of us?" she shakes her head "I was thinking more of a one on one sinario" so she still feels overly competitive with the Garou that out shot her that one little time."

Trekome raises a brow. "Homid form, no gifts? That would be an interesting match to watch... Strictly for fun and practice though."

Rianna nods her head. "I'll do my best," she says. "I just hope it's good enough." She looks around at the others. "I... know I didn't make a very good showing of myself," she says. "You know. Before. But. I want to change that. Maybe if I can do that... then I won't have to go back to that night ever again."

George nods encouragingly to Rianna and shakes his head at Quinn and Trekome "I was talking about a project for her and her fellow trainee, though we can work out some other time. I have to get going so I can catch the ferry out to the Island."

Trekome ahs and nods. "Sounds like a good plan. And learning to fight back for yourself goes a long way to being more confident and brave. Good on you."

Quinn nods "We'll have to talk about that some time. meanwhile take care."

Connor dips his head in a nod looking over to Rianna "Everyone has baggage, learnin' ta carry your's is tha first step, but we're packs for a reason, we all share tha loads and work ta be better."

Rianna nods her head. "Thank you. All of you. I mean that. You've all been so wonderful for me. I wish I could do something to repay you all for everything you've done. Six months ago, I never would have imagined I'd be here now. But... here I am. Learning to be who I am. Maybe for the first time ever."
