RP Room 5

xxxxxThe funeral home has a few of these rooms, furnished in wood and overstuffed furniture. A table stands along the wall near the entrance, a number of casseroles and bundt cakes already in place, with a stack of plates and utensils stacked to allow for self service. On another, smaller, table sets the urn, a guest book, and a scattering of envelopes, presumably holding cards of sympathy.

Sharpe has arrived.

Madeline has arrived.

Sentinel has arrived.

Gar has arrived.

Arya has arrived.

xxxxxThe service has been held, and it was perfectly lovely, not a dry eye in the house, or whatever qualifies as a successful specimen of that nature. And, now, down the hall, is the reception area, where the urn has been moved, the guest book set up and there are refreshments to be had. Liesl stands near the door, greeting people as they arrive, thanking them for coming, and directing them further into the room.

Gar enters the room and offers Liesl a hug, "so sorry for your loss." he then moves in to keep the line moving. He is dressed in a suit. An odd occurance for him and it sems to not be completely comfortable for him.

Sentinel enters the funeral parlor, dressed in a black business suit. Her head is lowered as she also approaches Liesl. "Liesl, I am very sorry for your loss. If there is anything I can do let me know." she rumbles.

Madeline enters with her hand upon Sharpe's arm, steping forward when the time is right "Mademoiselle Liesl, my deepest condolances"

Trekome has arrived.

Sharpe walks alongside of Madeline, dressed in black as well. He kept quiet though, just dropping a respectful nod.

Trekome steps in quietly, keeping towards the back of the room. He isn't dressed how he'd like to be, but he's still on call, and thus has to keep to his duty uniform.

xxxxxLiesl accepts the hug from Gar. Her own black attire, from long sleeved sweater to floor-length skirt, creates a contrast to her pale skin and blonde tresses. She murmurs her thanks to Sentinel, Madeline and returns the nod to Sharpe. Trekome is offered a smile and a thanks for coming, even as he moves to a place out of the way.

Arya is there with Madeline, in black, in a dress. She offers her condolences, but really doesn't have a lot to say, staying mostly in the background.

Madeline steps further into the room with Sharpe so the line may continue to move, then offers her hand to Arya.

Trekome smiles to Liesl and gives her a quiet nod in return. He keeps out of the way for now, letting her spend some time with the rest for the time being.

Gar gives Sentinel a nod as he has met her before but mostly he stay to the background of things since he did not know Matt well.

Sentinel nods back to Gar, and stands by arya, madeline and sharpe, as if she were a statue here.

Fabian has arrived.

Arya nods to Liesl when it's her turn, with Madeline of course and smiles when she sees Gar, offering her hand to him and stepping over to greet him after all the formal pleasantries are done.

Madeline smiles gently up at Nell and touches the woman's hand fondly.

Gar takes Arya's hand and gives it a brief kiss, "Good evening, who is minding the club if we are both here?" He asks with a bit of a smile not really all that concerned given the moment.

xxxxxAfter awhile, Liesl moves away from the door, once the stream of people has slowed to a trickle. She moves about the room, exchanging pleasantries, accepting condolences, doing her best to be strong and to not cry. It's been awhile, surely she should be over that by now?

The flask is tiped upwards as Fabian takes a drink outside the building. Really, what the hell is he doing here? It's not like he knew Matt. And Liesl? Well, anyway. He shakes the flask, giving a sigh, "I really should invest in a larger one...." He reaches into his pocket, pulling out a hard candy before fussing with the wrapper. Popping it into his mouth, he sighs. Looking towards the building again, he shrugs... And walks in.

Funerals are weird. Doubly so for a Demon. Am I supposed to be sad? I guess. And yet, in the infitismal amount of time a mortal lives, what does fifteen or fifty really matter, not much. But... Liesl is sad too. And that is sad. So I really should be sad. Those ocean blue eyes find the host, heading towards her. He offers his soft condolences, managing to do it without wobbling, thank god. Or Lucifer or... whomever. He takes a step back, looking her over and giving a warm smile. Then he looks around... What is left to do at a funeral?

Arya curls her hand around Gar's, looking amused when he kisses the back of her hand. "I left James in charge of the club," she says tongue in cheek.

Gar nods, "Then it is in good hands." He says then he loosk around, "I know a couple of people here but not many." he tells Arya.

Trekome makes his way over towards Liesl after she starts to mill about and dips his head to her. He doesn't say anything, just places his hand on her shoulder to give a gentle squeeze. His touch is warm and kind, and the slight smile he gives tries to instill some hope.

Madeline kisses Nell's cheek and then Arya's with murmerd words. She nods to Gar as if aquainted in some distant way and murmers that they are on their way out. Smiling she returns to sharpe "Shall we?"

Sentinel holds Madeline's hand and returns the cheek. "I do not know the protocol of these events." she admits "But will follow everyone's lead."

xxxxxLiesl seems pleased to see Fabian, even if he does reek quite a bit of alcohol. She thanks him for coming, and for the condolences. When he steps back and looks lost, she points him over to the table with the urn and the guest book, and asks if he would please sign the book. And, then points out the refreshments table, in case he's hungry. Trekome's touch does trigger a small smile in return. "Thanks for coming."

Fabian doesn't reek! He covered it up with a japanese melon cnady. Aside from that, he /has/ been cutting back. But Liesl isn't the only one in mourning, and everyone has their methods. He approaches the guest book. He glances down at it, not sure what he's supposed to do. Sure, he just seems signatures and dates but... Something seems missing. He picks up the pen, idly turning it over in his hand before writing in nice handwriting, 'See you on the other side. - Fabs' He drops the pen before turning back to consider the room.

Madeline stops by Liesl once more to take her leave "Do let us know if you need anything Mademoiselle"

xxxxxLiesl nods her thanks to Madeline, and to the others with her. "Thank you for coming, it was much appreciated."

Trekome smiles to Liesl, "I said I would. Sorry I'm not really dressed properly, but I'm still on call, so I might have to duck out. I'm here unless I get told otherwise though."

Basilisk has arrived.

Basilisk comes in a bit fashionably late. She is wearing a knee length black turtleneck dress and modest boots. She has at least made an effort to clean up. She carries with her a small boquet of flowers. She looks around approaching Liesl "Liesl. I am sorry for your loss." her voice is quiet not chirping as usual.

Arya reaches for Madeline's hand as she comes back around and nods at her, pausing in her chatting with Gar. "Are we heading out?"

Madeline nods to Arya with a smile.

Andraj has arrived.

xxxxxLiesl nods to Trekome. "I know you did, and I really appreciate it, since you're working." Then, there's Basil, offering her condolences. "Basil, thank you for coming." She gives her a hug, which might be a little out of the ordinary, but this isn't really anything ordinary, is it?

"I don't get it..." Fabian utters. He is, at least.. half surprised by his words, quieting down. He bites a lip, turning back towards Liesl and watching the hug. Shifting his weight he sighs, "I should have worn yellow..."

Basilisk gives Liesl a warm hug. "I am sorry for you and Morning glory and everyone else he was close to." she says softly. "Do you need help?" she asks. "So many people."

Gar nods to Arya nd Madeline, "I will stay a bit, in case Liesl needs anything." He tells them.

Andraj accompanies Basilisk, one arm around her but obviously here for her support and not someone everyone would know. A distinguished gentleman who appears to have never seen the light of day, his skin is nearly paper white with white hair that hangs in an ordered mess over his cruel face. Pale blue eyes tinged with red peer over a sharp nose and storng jaw with a white goatee. He is wearing a charcoal colored suitcoat with an off white shirt and a charcoal tie fashioned in a double windsor. A single pearl tie clasp holds the tie down to his shirt and pearl cufflinks complete the ensemble. His face is respectfully solemn and he echoes Basilisks condolence to the bereaved.

Madeline has left.

Arya has left.

Sharpe has left.

Having at least a small modicum of decorum, the albino professor is also wearing pants, for anyone curious enough to look down. They are also charcoal grey and cover all his man parts. Sorry ladies.

xxxxxMorning glory? Liesl looks ready to ask Basil, then glances to Fabian, and ahs. "Thank you, I'll let Morningstar know." And, she nods thanks to Andraj as well. But then, Fabian's comment comes through. "Why yellow?" she asks.

"It's from a book, called Cold Sassy Tree... The protagonist's grandfather said he's fed up with all of the mourning and black." He shrugs, "He asked that when he dies, everyone wear yellow. I think they had a carnival." Fabian trails off. Laughing, "It always stuck with me, I guess."

Gar walks over and adds to the conversation, "I think it was Seattle that said, ... the man the town was named after,... 'There is no death only a changing of worlds."

xxxxxLiesl nods to Fabian's explanation. "That would certainly be an anti-funeral." She takes a deep sigh, as three women approach her, nay, descend upon her, full of fluttering and coos of sympathy, each giving air kisses and arm hugs. There's a brunette who is clearly the leader of the trio, along with a blonde and another brunette, though her hair is lighter than the leader. "Darling Liesl! We're just devastated, you must be ... well." The brunette stands back to give Liesl a long, considering look. "Well, you know we did our best, right?" Liesl returns the air kisses to the trio, and winces a little. "Rachel ... yes, I know. Thank you for looking out for him. Sometimes ... that's not quite enough."

Trekome has left.

Andraj cant say much. Hes the date. He doesnt know anyone except Basilisk and so he simply holds her with one arm and smiles politely at those who pass.

Basilisk pauses. "What do we do at funerals? Its my first time at one." she asks Andraj.

Andraj answers quietly. "It is generally customary to offer your sorrow at the loss to the surviving spouse and family of the deceased. After that....usually conversations about the dead man and happy moments shared with him by those attending. You dont have to do anything after offering your condolences. You dont have to talk if your nervous in public. That your hear says you miss him.

xxxxxThere's a fairly large number of people who all seem to know each other. The trio of women seem to belong to this larger group, and from listening to some of the conversation, it'd become obvious that they knew Matt from the orchestra, as there are a number of comments that bemoan the fact that he is no longer with them, and that the new musician has a lot to live up to. The women fade back into larger group, after another round of air kisses and admonitions for Liesl to call in case she needs anything. Liesl looks a bit wrung out after her encounter with them.

Gar walks over to the trio and nods to them in greeting, "I am gar, I knew Matt through Liesl." he offers them a handshake.

Fabian slides next to Liesl, glancing towards her, "You okay, Canary?" He smiles, "The mine isn't suffocating is it?" He itches his cheek, looking towards the group of women.

Basilisk nos "All right." she says. "I'm here to make sure Liesl doesn't need any help. People get upset when people go..."

xxxxxLiesl smiles to Fabian at the nickname. There's a pattern, to be sure. "I'm okay," she says, as she watches Gar. The women are all over him, in a manner of speaking. They introduce themselves as Rachel, Tanya and Kaylee. Basilisk's comment catches her attention, and she reaches over to pat her arm. "Thank you, Basil, I'm really glad that you came. He's been gone for awhile, so it isn't as bad as it might have been." She glances to Andraj, then back to Basil. "So, if you need to go, I'll understand."

Basilisk frowns "No I feel like I should be here." seh says. "I have just never been to a funeral before. And dont know how to act."

Andraj kisses the side of Basilisks forehead. "Your fine dear. You care, thats the only thing expected of you."

Fabian notices Basilisk and Andraj, but just takes a step back, "Hey Liesl? I'm gonna jet. I'll text you tonight, okay?" He smiles faintly towards her, "Call me if you need anything."

Basilisk beams brightly. "Thanks." she looks to Fabian "This getting awkward?"

xxxxxLiesl nods to Andraj, as she tells Basilisk, "I don't know what to do, either. If I had my choice, there wouldn't be anything like this." She gestures around, "They said it was supposed to be done." Then, there's Fabian, and she nods. "Okay, I will. You take care, yes?"

Gar talks with the trio of ladies but keeps the topics on the less serious side of things. He does give Basil a wave and a smile.

Basilisk smiles and waves to Gar, but stays close to Andraj. This is just another landperson tradition she doesnt understand.

Fabian has left.

Andraj sighs and nods to Liesl´s words. "Well I can see he was loved."

xxxxxFor some reason, Andraj's words bring tears to Liesl's eyes, and she turns away briefly, to use the tissue that she's got clutched in her hand. She turns back and nods, "Yes, he was in the orchestra ... and they were all with him ..."

Andraj closes his eyes and looks to the floor. His comfort only brought pain. He looks up again and nods.

xxxxxLiesl murmurs softly, "There are good tears as well. Thank you for your words," she tells Andraj. Just then, an older man approaches, and wordlessly encases Liesl in a hug. Her arms go up around his neck, and her face his buried in his shoulder for a fair amount of time. This, presumably, is her father.

Gar notices Liesl's tears and breaks form his conversation with the trio to walk over and give her shoulder a squeeze.

xxxxxLiesl finally lets go of the man, and there are definitely tears again. She uses the tissue once more, and she offers a little smile to Gar as he approaches. "Thank you, Gar." She glances to those still around, and introduces the man, who is, indeed, her father. "Daddy, some of my friends, Gar and Basil, and her friend," she gestures to each, then adds, "My father, Nelson Miller."

Basilisk smiles. "Nice to meet you sir." she says quietly standing behind Gar now that Andraj is gone.

Gar nods to Nelson and extends a hand, "Nice to meet you." he then says, "I am sure you are feeling this loss as well."

xxxxxNelson returns greetings, shaking Gar's hand. His other hand is in his suit jacket pocket, toying with something within. "I am," he agrees with Gar's comment. "Children should not go before their parents." Liesl gets weepy again, turning a little to use the tissues. She'll need to restock soon.

Gar nods to that, "I know how much my parents worried while I was in the service, I am very glad they did not have to deal with this senerio."

Basilisk looks totally lost but stays behind Gar. "Sounds like its sad." she looks at her feet a bit.

xxxxxNelson draws Liesl beside him, arm around her waist, and gives her a gentle kiss to the side of her head. "You're strong," he tells her. "You'll get through. And, you have friends." Liesl nods to this, looking up to Gar and Basilisk. "The very best of friends," she agrees, offering a little smile. The room has started to clear out, and there's a small crew packaging up the items on the display tables. Liesl notices this, and comments about how it looks like they're going to be kicked out any time now.

Gar nods and says, "Well will help Liesl through this." he says, "After all this is the time when you learn who the good friends are."
