It's about a half-mile away that the group would almost as one take a pause to take stock. That sensation of evil was almost palitaple. It didn't even take a gift to know there was something. Something very bad, directly ahead of them. The damage from the earthquake that had happen seemed to have hit the forest the most. Ahead of them was actually a bit of a swath of dead trees. knocked about like so many match sticks, there was a gall that sat heavy on the area, stopping view of further ahead from easily being seen.

Ildar in that wolf form for travel, would shift back smoothly enough to human. He stares ahead, then looks to the others. "Seems they leveled up some. Time for game faces, I think. What's the word, Iris?"

Jes stops to light a cigarette, like he's wont to do, and ponders, "I wonder how Peach is doing?" to himself as he gets all his things in order. He looks to Iris -- their brave leader in this adventure -- and blows a smoke ring, giving her his attention.

In Isla and Cait's taking care of business elsewhere for the time being, Aaryn, it seems, has taken up post at Jes' right-hand side. As the party pauses, she crouches low and looks toward Iris expectantly. She's clad in a midnight-blue track suit, the likes of which might make any self-respecting Silver Fang Russian Oligarch envious.

Iris winces and apologetically announces, "My fault, my fault, I'll ritual this shit up and really scrub it down after we're done. Man there's gonna be some chiminage to pay." she really does feel bad about the whole earthquake thing, even if it was *really* funny at the time. "Hopefully well." she tells Jes. Maybe Isla and Cait are late cause of setting up the distraction, or something. "Alright, the corruption's spread, we've got banes in the umbra, but we should be alright for now. Keep low, we need stealth to get up close. Coming from the forest, we can get away with Lupus I think. Sorry, kinfolk. I'll stick to Glabro to help with translation if anyone goes four legged." Bow unlimbered, strung and with a plain arrow knocked, it's start-forward-carefully time.

Erin is actually keeping up simply because she is riding on the back of Kringer (a rather large black panther with a riding saddle and armor on). She slows when everyone does though stays close to her buddy wich is Iris. She nods as she looks around then takes a breath.

Branton has swappped out his beat stick for a fancy looking gladius, ornamented in silver and marked with symbols for the glory of Pegasus. He's keeping up because of the magic in his boots. He nods at Iris and looks over the field ahead as his power shimmers to readiness. A hip flask is taken out and drank from briefly before it gets put away.

Iris, for her part, tries to look like she knows what she's doing. Yes she's a Garou and this is all part and parcel, but STILL. She's responsible for people, and that's just fucked up. Anyhoo, she moves quietly through the fouled forest growth towards their target building(s), keeping low and trying to be quiet. "Once we're in place, I'll have String hit the distraction and we'll try and get to the building without anyone noticing us. A moonbridge'll be bright so be prepared to hoof it behind cover if our chances don't look good." But they've had some scouting and surely would have picked their angle to advance to give them the best chances there.

Isla arrives in all her flaming haired glory! Ready for battle, the woman is painted in blue woad on her skin peaking out from her bloody bandages, first in Glabro, making her all that more fierce. Her bow is at the ready for now. "Ready fer action. Whatever ye need, Goop Mistress."

As Iris gives the Marching Orders, Aaryn nods and leans forward on her palms. She shifts into lupus easily enough, the better to move stealthily, after all. She gives one gentle chuff and a bounce of the muzzle to Jes and falls back, along her assigned teammate, Isla. <<Alright, Fiery-Bellona 'rhya. I'm at your side!>>

Jes winks at Isla and gives Aaryn a pat on the shoulder before saying, "You girls have a good time now," puffing on his Nat Sherman and rolling his shoulders so they pop audibly. He's in no rush; the fun will all start up soon enough.

Erin and Kringer are ready as she nods to Iris and waits so they can head in their direction. She does take a look around a little bit and gets ready to raise her hood last time she got shot around here.

Ildar would shift back to that wolf. Keeping low and steady as they would move on into the dead zone. Very quickly the silence of a dead woods envelops the group as they move. Ildar keeps near Branton. His backup afterall, while they head closer for that building. Then it'd happen. It's a simple thing. A twig that crunches under Branton's foot. But it sounds eerily loud in the silence of that dead zone.

Ah shit! Iris casts a paranoid look around when she hears that crunch. Her Gnosis is higher than the local gauntlet, so she's got two planes to keep an eye on while they go, sticking close to Erin and Battlecat over here with her arrow ready to fly. She's not huge into pop culture or anything, but she's seen a few horror movies, she knows what happens to unwary teenagers in the woods after a crunch moment!

Kringer stops as the crunch is heard and leans down you know how cats hide. Erin looks over and then to her buddy "Something doesn't feel right" she whispers as quiely as humanly possible as she looks around for something.

Isla steps carefully and as she hears the sound from the twig, a hands are on her bow, arrow nocked and ready. She is scanning with the pointed arrow, looking for any danger.

Branton looks up and frowns, drawing the shortsword at his side, the rune carved blade gleaming silver. He gestures to Ildar and indicates upwards, signaling with his free hand.

Were it not for Isla's posturing, Aaryn would not have been aware there was anything amiss. As the fiery-haired Ahroun knocks her bow and scans, Aaryn's ears flicker and work, listening for any sound.

Ildar, for his part, would pause as something 'up' is pointed out. That wolf would tuck in low against the side of a fallen tree as he looks over at Branton a moment, then shifts back to that homid form. "psst. Iris saw it before. Flying things on the umbral. I can't hit it unless I step."

Iris seems to see something as well and takes a hold of Kinger to get he and Erin behind some nearby cover, making a quick 'down!' gesture to the rest before giving a nod to Branton.

Isla sees what Iris does, and signals Aaryn to get down, and crouches herself. Bow still at the ready, but she knows that Branton has his ways as wel.

Fee Fi Fo Fum!! A Giant Lumberjack is coming! No wait, that's Cait, and she's not a lumberjack and not a giant, definitely. She is, however, carrying an old Fire Axe with her, holding onto it like a weapon. Which it is, to be honest. She's moving along smoothly, placing each foot carefully as someone who is quietly confident in her movements and moving stealthily. Suddenly, Cait will pause and look around, looking alert and she'll frown, scowling as she can't -see- what is alarming her, but clearly aware that something is -there-. At Iris' down gesture, she'll step to the side and crouch on the balls of her feet, axe at the ready.

Jes gets low like everyone else, rolling his eyes and puffing on his cigarette. What'll happen'll happen; he's still just following.

The Cliath Get lowers herself on her belly at Isla's command. Aaryn's ears lay low against the base of her skull and she goes motionless, waiting for the strike.

Branton sees Iris' nod and makes a powerful leap into the air and swings at empty air before landing in a crouch looking less than pleased.

Erin was already hiding as Kringer doesn't ahve to be told twice to lay flat but at the ready if it needs to leap or spring into action. Erin watches as Branton leaps in the air and swings at the air and then looks around. Ha she doesn't see of course the giant that is right thre

On the umbral: A foul squawk is given by the bird, a few tail feathers clipped by Branton's swing, but the cunning thing dived low enough to avoid the strike. It would take off heading right for that building, making as much noise as it could. Those who can see the umbral will of course, see this happening.

On the physical: Ildar watches Branton leap, but it looks like there was no contact there, especially from Branton's landing. The teenager shakes his head. "Well.. I think now is time to set off the distractions? We tried." Ildar would draw his own bow out from that dedicated hold, to prep an arrow.

Further ahead of the group, it seems in response to the bird's noise, there's a low rumble. Not enough to throw anyone off balance, but something is certainly.. stirring.

Isla arghs. "So much fer sneaking now. Even if I shoot it down, they would already know somethin' is up. What's yer call, Goop Mistress."

Jes draws his Sig and sighs out a cloud of smoke, muttering, "Time to make the fuckin' chimichangas," checking the magazine and flipping the safety off. He looks to Iris as well, then ponders, "Is this a 'bullets' situation, or should I just assume I have to get close enough for this thing to kick my ass?".

"Shit, good try though." Iris says, "Queing the distraction, but we ain't coming in like ninjas." She offers Jes a high five while she gets the distraction going, and gives it count of five to get going before saying, "Okay let's get to work, keep your eyes and ears open."

The lowest of growls rumbles low from Aaryn's throat as she crawls forward on her paws, waiting on Isla's movements.

Erin nods "Guess not, dang"she nods "I'm ready when you are" she lightly pats Kringer as she gets ready to follow Iris' lead

Cait will follow along with her axe, until such time as she can shift or something. She'll remain mostly quiet, the usually gregarious Ahroun is silent, and looking towards the others often for what they wish to do. Since she can't see the umbra, she looks particularly tense.

The distraction goes off right on time, that queue of noise and destruction off to the side that Isla and Cait had managed to put in place really caused quite the ruckus! It was sheer chaos of explosions and bullets going about. Those who can see the Umbral would even pick up that it caused the bird to stall in it's cry of warning and starts flapping that way.

Ildar watches as the explosions go off. He nods a little, looks to Branton to make sure he's alright, then would head out with the others. "Time to kick some doors in.."

Fireworks and bullets! Aimed at the bad guys as if they were being shot by people, of course, and bound up with fire elementals. Ildar can correct me if I'm wrong but once we get to the edge where we can see the buildings (and the fourth of july style firefight) there should be a probably mostly smooshed little house and a probably beat up mobile home, with a taller building between, which is the target. Since this was her stupid idea, she tries to help signal her people when it's 'safe' to run across and get to it hopefully without attracting a bunch of attention in the process.

The building is showing visible signs of.. black lines.. weaved through it even on the physical plane. There's also a definitive heavy feeling weight on this area, making it almost hard to breath, without feeling tainted in the lungs. There were two buildings, which are now nothing but rubble, a wrecked mobile home and what was a house, is now a pile of rocks. The distraction is working like a charm, keeping everyone's head down, so in that one moment, there is that safety in crossing.

The building's side facing the woods is blank. No window, no door. The 2nd story window has been boarded up, as if someone looks to have gone through it, and it's awaiting repairs. There is the ability to go around to either side, but that's getting closer to the street, to get in as well.

With Branton able to move so well, Ildar would shift into that wolf form to take off after him, getting across that brief area that was clear, he wouldn't actually lean against the building. But he did shift back to homid, frowning at the situation. "So.. do we go up? Or in a side?"

Branton frowns and considers Ildar's questions "I could start demolishing it from here but the baddies will be coming right for us at that point. It wouldn't be subtle at all."

Climbing down from Kringer, Erin tells him to stay for now as she makes a run for it once Iris gives the call that's what they are doing. She chews on her lip as she takes a breath sticking closer to Iris as she looks around.. Kringer moves to hide for now.

Isla runs at full speed, probably beating most of them there. She pauses when needed, and gets across - looking back to check on Aaryn and see where Jes is. "Aye, what's the call now Goop Mistress. Ready fer the battle charge."

Jes just books it on two legs, sprinting with his gun in his hand like Tom fucking Cruise in Mission: Inadviseble while somehow /keeping the cigarette in his mouth/. He skids to a stop near Ildar, pausing to take three deep breaths before taking another drag on his cigarette, and looks up to the window. "I can climb that," he offers, shrugging once. He checks to see that Cait's nearby and nods to her once, then meets Isla's eyes and shrugs, making a face before giving her a silly grin.

And, they're off! As soon as Isla begins to move, Aaryn is at her side - a quick grey streak in the darkness. She manages to keep at the redhead's heels, stopping alongside her when she pauses. Her ears are pert, showing her readiness, as well.

Running at full speed, Cait pumps her arms with the axe in hand, and makes her way across the area. She's definitely bookin' it too. Coming to a stop next to Jes, she'll look up and then nods as well. "I can climb too, if you want." She's not even panting at this point, but looks rather intense. Is it a full moon?

Iris looks up, and looks to the side. Then to Jes, she gives him a quick hand gesture, "It'll know we're here the second we're in," she says while signaling for him to help her get everyone Up and in rather than risk human lookie loos. She can climb that pretty easy as well, between the two of them and everyone else's own climbing abilities, it uh. Well it works on paper.

Erin looks up as she looks over to where Kringer is and then takes a breath oh well that was a bad plan. But he will come join them as soon as they are in cuz dang cat will just fly in.

Alright. You manage to hit it hard enough to break the binders on it, knocking the board in with a crash! The room inside is trashed, everything wrecked and dirty. The smell that comes out the sudden opening is absolutely horrendous. Like someone took rotting flesh and purposely cooked it.

Branton hauls off and shoulder checks the window super hard and mutters an obscenity in greek as he blows the window pannel in and instead of a wooden thunk it makes a metallic clang.
