Belief and Paradigm
xxxxxIf you look at the elements of the universe and lay them atop those elements that make us up, you would see that we share similar qualities and compositions. But we are fragile things compared the wider cosmos. Matter is that portion of the world which is unchanging in its true form and therefore it is the most pure representation of the spiritual world, since living substances inevitably wither and decay and forces are transitory.
xxxxxAll matter is fundamentally one substance and over time it evolves from base elements to its pure counterparts. The world is at once both a series of the simple and the complex. The world wants it change, to be higher than its baser form, but this is not through brute force. To understand these is to have knowledge to the greater formulae from which everything is possible. To perform the highest of arts, Alchemy (or Magick), is to work with the raw materials of the world and elevate them to a higher form. To take the rawness of an idea and transmute it to a higher form of itself. This is never by force and will alone.
xxxxxThere is creativity, harmony, and a synthesis in Magick. The universe expresses its spiritual truths in symbolic, metaphorical, and allegorical formulae. By studying the material reality and exploring these many truths, are we able to learn the deeper spiritual lessons that will guide the way to Ascension. Western alchemists speak of the attempt to turn base things to gold while Eastern alchemists talk of the search for the elixir of immortality but both groups understand this to allegorize the transformation of human nature. Ascension is the universal Philosopher's Stone, which will enable us to complete the greater work.
