Character Generation/Vampire
Important notes about Faction
Vampire is big on social politics, has multiple factions to choose from, and there are many common misunderstandings about these factions. Please be familiar with the following points before building your character, and continue to keep them in mind as you RP. You can still play what you want, but you should understand what type of reaction you're likely to get from others.
'+census/group vampire' (and '+census/group ghoul') will give you a rough idea of current PC demographics.
CamarillaProspect is a Camarilla city. (Also includes the suburbs of Carlsbad and Idyllwild.) Considering making a Camarilla PC? Please read the Letter to Prospective Players to see what will fit well with the existing player base. All Camarilla PCs should set Faction = Camarilla, and must set a +note with their Letter of Introduction prior to approval. The Imperial Praxis of Greater Prospect requires all Kindred wishing to reside within Prospect, Carlsbad, or Idyllwild to be vouched for by a leader (Duke/Duchess, Harpy, Primogen, or Whip).
In the past, the Camarilla demanded a blood test of any new vampire in their domain that they were ICly aware of, as well as vampires who returned after a long absence. This was discontinued as of January 2021. See also: Camarilla PCs
SabbatTijuana is a Sabbat city. (Also includes pretty much anything else in Mexico.) Applications for Sabbat PCs are closed indefinitely. |
Anarch'Anarch' is defined (VtM 59) as "A Kindred rebel who opposes the tyranny of elders. Anarchs wish to redistribute the wealth and resources equitably among the vampires therein."
The Anarchs have historically had a presence in the suburbs of Chula Vista and Imperial Beach, but have tended to fade out quickly due to lack of numbers. Anarchs wishing to participate within the Camarilla Domain should inquire at their Elysium. See also: Anarch PCs Independent'Independent' is reserved for the clans that are independent, or at least a significant part of them is: Assamite, Followers of Set, Gangrel, Giovanni, and Ravnos.
See also: Independent PCs Autarkis'Autarkis' is defined (VtM 60) as "A Kindred who remains outside the larger vampire society of a given city and often refuses to acknowledge the claim of a prince."
We haven't had much sustained activity from Autarkis, so it may be difficult to find other like-minded characters. See also: Autarkis PCs |
Age
The Character Creation system in the books is built to make a character that is an average of 50 years old. If you intend to be older than 100 years then you need some way to flesh out your character to be more potent than someone embraced recently. Please see +policy XP Transfer or consult with Staff regarding other options. "I was in torpor." is no longer a valid answer.
Generation
At this time, apps for 8th & 9th Generation Vampires is CLOSED. 9th Generation is available IF you can be sired on game with a current active PC. Please see +policy XP Transfer or consult with Staff regarding other options.
Not Allowed
- Daughters of Cacophony: New DoC apps are not being accepted. We already have a few and, per canon, there really should not be more than one or two of them in a city (if any).
- Kiasyd: These are also very rare, and thus we are not accepting new apps.
- Kinain/Kinfolk: There is a moratorium on new apps for Vampires that are also kinfolk or kinain.
Getting Started
Choose Concept, Clan, Faction, Nature, Demeanor
- Camarilla: Pillar Clans are recommended. Brujah, Gangrel, Nosferatu are most needed.
- Assamites and Gangrel are considered a Pillar Clans on this game See Explanation here. Assamites PCs need to have a +note to explain how they came to join the Camarilla vs being Independent.
- Anarch/Independent: Apps are open.
- Assamites and Gangrel still have large numbers that are Independent.
- Sabbat apps are now closed.
IMPORTANT: Set a +note named "Vitals" with the following information:
- Date of Birth
- Place of Birth
- Date of Embrace
- Place of Embrace

Backstory
These questions (VtM 108-109) are meant to be used as a springboard to fill out your character's backstory as much as possible. While we do not require a formal write-up, we do suggest you review these and consider which answers would lead to enjoyable RP for yourself and others.
