'''Betrayed Again'''

Dante showed up about this time, for reason unknown. Her father realized that he couldn't leave her here, she was a true Kross and perhaps with the right instruction, would one day take her place amongst the twisted family. Some would think standing up to Dante would be a good idea, but when the owner of the whorehouse argued the demon went into a terrible savage frenzy. The walls and floors ran thick with blood and gore as all died. All save Eris.

Taking her home was a mission in itself and he tried for a year to tame her, to no avail. Then a stranger came to Dante. After a long negotiation time that the little thing watched from her father's lap, he handed her over to the stranger. Yazmynne fought hard, in total shock that the man claiming to be her father and protector would do this to her, and she tried to get back to him.

But monsters are forged through harsh times not love and teaching. Yazmynne was taken away, and by the time the sun rose that morning, the little savage was taken to an auction, where she was stared, poked and prodded at. Most did not like their fingers bitten and torn at, leaving her alone. It was several days before a giant beast of a man came to buy her from the auctioneer. The price had dropped considerably, and the cage with the girl carried off. The Keeper was a man with many enemies. The little girl found herself under his magiks, and forced into a creation that no longer was that of a little girl, but of ink.

Her Keeper would open the inkwell, slide his pen into her liquid body and draw her into that terrible quill of his. Parchment was used as the most beautiful writing was etched onto the pages, the letters flowed and formed into terrifyingly alluring images and verses that ensnared the eye and made it hard to destroy. He would send this letter to his enemies and once that enemy was asleep, Eris could sense it . . . she could pull herself from the pages and like a razor thin shadow she would stalk the prey of her master and slip into their dreams to torture and twist them. That first time she gave the poor enemy the same dreams to the ones she had from her life before. Brutal beatings and repeated rapes, darkness and isolation all brought the most sweet fear to their owners before Eris would slice those dark razored hands of hers across their throats and watch them gurgle until the light faded from their eyes.

'''Reunion'''

In the beginning, when Eris gave nightmares that made the targets shudder, their hair turn white and beg to die; her keeper would shower the young assassin with praise and affection. Her loyalty was unswerving. As more letters of death and dreams were assigned, her master became complacent, becoming too focused on the outcomes and not on his fragile shadow angel; failing to give her the praise she had come to seek so much. Since her driving goal was this attention and affection, Eris soon lost her drive to please her. But her powers made her the perfect creature to sneak away and sure enough when the first opportunity arose, she bent the shadows to her will and when her Keeper came to find her with quill in hand . . . she was gone. The inkwell was dry and one of the sharp feathers from that glorious quill was gone too, Eris had used it to pick the lock and was able to slip away unseen. One eternal run through the Hedge brought her back to a strange town, one she did not recognise, but there was a quiet whispering voice on the wind . . . the demon Sliver was calling another member of the Kross family together . . .
