|Ambrose was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of a mixed family. A cultural hodgepodge, Ambrose's life was not dictated by culture but by faith. Receiving a Jesuit Education he became an ordained priest of the Society of Jesus and part of the laity of New Orleans.
