2014.06.11: PWN - LEGACY - We reign supreme
"In the state of California there's three things that's for sure. Death-- Taxes-- and The Lozios making asses out of the Treborns."
"I mean seriously, can you say my brother is a liar? Stronger than steel, quicker than lightning, it's how we do things."
Standing in front of the camera was two figures, the one to the left had a black hoodie on, with a black hood pulled over his head. Not much was seen aside of the lower portion of what'd make up a goatee. To his right was a more sculpted fellow, a skin tight black tee clung to his flesh. With his hair spiked, he definitely seemed to be the more arrogant of the two, as well as the taller with about an inch and a half on the other.
"We were told the sport of professional wrestling had one foot in the grave, the other was on the verge of burial- all because we were kept under, submerged from the surface. Despite my technical prowess, despite Dante's power and charisma, we were held back and held down."
The hooded figure's name was Miles Lozio and he was the eldest of the bunch of brothers. The sons of Rocco Lozio, Miles had never achieved the success that was apparent he was able to reach. Blessed with good looks and a strong technical skill-set, Miles had all the tools to be a superstar but never could grasp that said-star, he was never able to break through the glass ceiling and embrace his destiny.
"I've been told so many times that we were supposed to be in a better place, that my family deserved so much better. No matter where I went, I was stuck with stupid names and philosophies that is a slap in the face in everything my father worked for. My name isn't Dennis Day, it isn't Robert McClendon.. is Miles Lozio and I'm PROUD of that."
Miles has had his share of poor 'personas' over the course of his career. It seemed that no matter how hard of a worker he was in the ring, it'd always end bad for him. As the oldest of the four brothers, Miles felt as if he let his family down by not being able to bring home success.. a way to make his brother's jobs easier. Instead, he was stuck jerking the curtain under a stupid name and even at a time, a mask.. a mask. The single thought of being stuck beneath the mask and running around with a cape infuriated him but it also gave him enough fuel to keep charging forward to make sure that when he was given his next opportunity [now] he would take it, no questions asked.
"It'd be easy for me to stand here and blame everyone else- to blame the fans for wanting living cartoons, then it 'real' then.. not knowing what they want. I could blame the promoters, I could blame the powers-that-be, but what'd it earn? What'd it be for? Where'd the good come from in that?"
Coming to his first pause, Miles brought his hands up and pushed the hood off of his head all as he cocked his head back a bit. Rubbing the back of his head, the thicker, more muscular brother- Dante chuckled very.. very lightly.
"My brother is far more modest than I am, it's why we make such a great team. He'll stand here and tell you that we're good but not great- but I don't believe that. He'll tell you that even though we're the best damned tag team around, we're good.. but I ain't having none of that. When you're blessed at birth to be a Lozio, that comes with a specific set of tasks.. Tasks like making sure those punkass Treborns don't steal anymore of our spotlight."
Dante's voice was deeper than Miles, he seemed to have more of a presence than his brother.
"A lot of what we've done people like to contribute to 'fortunate family ties' and I call it a lie. The Treborns, they're products of fortunate circumstances. Cryse? How is that punk still around? Eli.. or rather, Prince as he likes to call himself now? I'll break him like Batman over my knee.. and let's not even get started on Derek.. or rather, cute Ripper. Ripper? Of what? Paper? You're SOFT Derek, you're not half the man I am. Come Friday the 20th, I'll show that- we'll PROVE that."
A smirk crossed Dante's face as Miles nodded to his brother's words.
"Dante is looked at as cocky but a lot of what he says is true. I don't like to toot our horn, he does- but this time.. I have no problem doing it. When we're standing across from Prince and Ripper.. When there's close to 30 years of pent up frustration and aggression, when the rage boils over, it'll be clear as day. From day one we've been taught to despise those arrogant bastards, we've been told the tale of how Treborns struck out on so many levels that they were blackballed from Arizona so they relocated to California. We know what you're capable of doing and we know that you're NOT capable of.. and what you're NOT capable of, is taking us in the ring. You know that boys, you know that as skilled as you two are, as sharp and quick, it doesn't matter.. we're faster, stronger, smarter and just all around.. better."
Despite not being natural at it, Miles showed the ability to flash a cocky smirk, much like his younger brother.
"30 Years in the making and we're finally able to settle a score that should of never got this far. At Friday the 20th, we're not showing up with hockey masks and machetes. Carson Community Center isn't Camp Crystal Lake- but there's going to be a massacre. A massacre that'll involve the RIGHTFUL HEIRS to the Crown of California to FINALLY take their throne. You've had your time in the sun boys, you've had the chance time and time again to rise up and take the bull by the horns.. but you didn't. It's time for you to move out of the way and allow us to take what's rightfully ours.. California."
".. regardless of if you're willing on doing it or not doesn't matter, we're stepping into Carson Community Center and we're taking what belongs.. to.. US."
Taking a page out of The Kings of Wrestling [Hero and Castagnoli] Miles and Dante hooked their arms as they looked into the camera- Miles spoke once more..
"The Lozio name.. Like a phoenix.. will rise again."
Dante's smirk was far too arrogant to be seen as anything else, all as they stood there with arms interlocked, showing that they had an unbreakable bond. Blood was always thicker than water and in the case of Rocco Lozio's two oldest boys, that was proven to be true. Miles' ability and Dante's strength and charisma made them a hard duo to beat but they knew better than to look past their mortal enemies-- The Treborns. Miles and Dante knew that more than just a simple win was riding on the line here, the prestige of bragging rights, the ability to walk down the street with their heads held high knowing that THEY own the state of California in terms of wrestling prominence. No more would the days of being looked down at, as second best-- no more would the days of falling in line like good little soldiers. King Treborn might be the power behind LEGACY Wrestling but he knew exactly what he was doing when he granted Miles and Dante contracts.. and then subsequently giving them a crack at his nephews. There's nothing good that'd come from that- unless King knew that it was time for the buck to be passed to a whole new generation- as if he needed to finally let go of the stranglehold he's had on the business in The Treborn name. Friday the 20th would indeed be a massacre, a massacre of the once proud Treborn name- Miles and Dante would make sure of that.
