FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions by players outside of the Pentex organization

Q: What if I don't like dark themes in my RP?
A: Pentex may not be for you.

Q: What if I don't like specific dark themes in my RP?
A: In general, players should respect your specific RP preferences. We're all here to have fun, and if your RP isn't fun, it defeats the purpose. However, bad things happen to antagonist characters, and bad things will probably happen to your character as well. If those bad things are something you don't want to play out on screen, usage of +policy Hand Waving is encouraged.

Q: What if someone doesn't want to Fade to Black, or otherwise doesn't respect my RP preferences regarding adult themes?
A: If the problem is bad enough, contact staff. Otherwise, the usage of Fade to Black does not require the consent of both parties, and if you would like to make use of it your RP partner should respect the choice and work out what happens OOCly.

Q: Should I tell people outside of Wyrm that I work for Pentex?
A: Generally this is a terrible idea. Players are encouraged to choose a specific Subsidiary, and to say you work there instead.

Q: Can I play a Pentex character that isn't in the IC Pentex structure (Report to someone off screen)?
A: No. Every Faction and Sphere has an IC structure, and Pentex is especially no different. We work much better when it's in a structured group, especially as outnumbered as the antagonist Factions are. If you're operating for Pentex within the on-grid area, you report to one of the on-grid Division Heads at some point in your chain of command.

Q: Will I have to be implanted with a bomb of some type?
A: No. Implanted bombs are generally only utilized for potential flight risks.

Q: Will my RP be restricted in some way? (Imprisoned, only allowed to RP with other Pentex members, etc)
A: No. Pentex also has to obey the Risk policy. The only time RP may be restricted is when your RP threatens the Faction in some form or fashion (Veil breach, outing personnel to other Factions, etc), or if it makes IC sense and you agree to it.

Q: What if I don't like, or have a falling out with, my supervisor or Division Head?
A: Pentex is currently split up into four separate Divisions for this exact reason. If for some reason you have an OOC issue or incompatibility with your direct supervisor or Division Head, players are allowed to swap to another Division, pending approval of your new Division Head.
