• Her name- Lucía Montri Phailin y Cabrera- is written in the finest Spanish tradition, taking her Father's family name and following it with her mother's. Her father, Marcus Phailin, is Thai and her mother, Rosa Mendoza Cabrera, is Castilian Spanish.

• Despite her name Lucía does not actually speak Spanish or Thai.

• Lucía hates being called Lucy. Unfortunately, it is inevitable.

• Lucy wears a bright red medical alert bracelet to alert people to the fact that she is allergic to every antibiotic that is even cursorily related to penicillin! This comes part and parcel with primary immunodeficiency (CVID).
