Like glass shattering, the truth blazed in a vision with clarity brighter than the sun.  Memories overwhelming consumed her.  Slowly… ever so slowly they started to make sense.

Vivianne bolted awake, sitting upright, still tangled in her sheets. Utter darkness. She didn't need to breathe, but her lungs still struggled on reflex from panic, from memory of what it was like to be human. Her hand clutched at her heart. 
 
 
 
The reality of her memories and dreams hit her full force. For the first time in what felt like eons, Vivianne curled up and wept silently. She finally remembered what she had truly lost, and could never reclaim
