Evan follows along behind Irsa into the Common Room, taking his time to look around since it doesn't seem like they are particularly in a hurry. He has his magical backpack on and his guitar case in hand. He snickers when he gets to the sign over the kitchen door "That's awesome."

Jackie looks up from her phone from where she's sitting on the big bench and pulls earbuds out of her ears before waving to the newcomers. "Hey, what's up?"

The Common Room is definitely the heart of the Tenement. Someone's laid out a spread of submarine sandwiches here, already cut into chunks for easy snatching. Turkey, ham, bacon and roast beef abounds. There's a half-dozen types of chips and drinks, and even a small seasonal fruit tray. "Yeah, it's worth your life if ya step foot in there," she says with a laugh. "Oh, you know, invitin' random people over," she replies to Jackie, all too casually. "We were admirin' all the repair work out in th' Foyer."

Evan grins at the spread of food in the fashion of teen age werewolves everywhere and then he nods to Jackie "I got invited over for....food? And stuff? and things? One of the advantages to not sleeping much is I can just come over whenever."

Jackie chuckles and lets the wolves eat before swiping a sammich for herself. Best not to get between fangs and food if you can help it. "Are you usually too busy to sleep too? I tend to keep weird hours myself."

Irsa sets down her pack at the table and puts together a plate for herself. It doesn't take long for her Familiar to slither out and check out the spread. "Zee sammich, she is beautiful," Beanie squeaks as she adjusts another hat. The price tag perched on the brim lets everyone know she only paid ten shillings and six pence, what a steal! Irsa chucks a bag of chips at the rat spirit. "Pipe down, we got business today. Here, eat those." The Bone Gnawer sits down and digs into her own food. "You ain't settled inta a place of your own yet?" she asks Evan. She's tag teaming with Jackie, wild.

Evan gets a plate and settles in, finding somewhere out of the way to set his guitar case and backpack as he says to Jackie "I sleep...maybe an hour a night? Sometimes during the day though. I can even skip if I've got to but If I stay up three days straight that starts to get a little rough. Gives me plenty of time to practice and pitch in on the Caern Defense patrols." Then to Irsa "Nope, just one of the cabins on the bawn. I keep meaning to but keep getting distracted by trips to Tasmania for snowball fights and shit."

Rhapsody has been up to something... everything? Nothing. Nah, really, weird noises may have come around late at night from her room or the courtyard. She comes in today with something under a sheet. "oh good! Hey hi there!" She's looking around and has this look like she has been up to no good. But really it is good.

Jackie gives a soft whistle at Evan. "Wow, and here I thought I was a crazy night owl. Sounds like you've got me beat though, with that kind of a schedule. Oh, hey Rhapsody. Hmmmm, what kind of trouble have you got under there? Do I need to get a fire extinguisher or anything?"

Irsa noshes away as she listens to the others. It doesn't take her long to spot Rhapsody's hidden project but she's not about to spoil a surprise by drawing attention to it. "An hour? How ain't you dead?" she asks Evan.

Evan grins at Irsa "You've heard how the Fianna have connections to the Fae and some magical weirdness about us because of it? That's how. Between that and the touch of Foresight its kind of neat. The allergies are less so, you know the folk lore about Iron being a problem? That's a true thing. And Not my favorite at all." To Jackie "That's how come I can play so many instruments. All that extra time to practice." Rhapsody gets a grin "Hi! Nice to see you again."

Rhapsody sits the sheeted item on the table and surely has a funny look on her face. "It's good to see you too, Evan. I... kinda got inspiried last week. I hope you like gifts." She grins to Jackie, "Nah, but might want to listen up if all goes well." She throws off the sheet and reveals a guitar case. "This... this is for you, Evan. To help out in your travels and be the inspiration you were meant to be." She opens the latches on the case to reveal (OOC: +equip 666413) a Black Acoustic Guitar that looks similar to the Gibson Dove Elvis would play. "The King's Guitar. Ok, not really the King's guitar, but go with me here." She takes it out and hands it over to Evan. "With a little help from a spiritual friend, when you play it? Of course with more raucous music, you can inspire those around you in their attacks." A wink to Irsa, "I believe the Gnawers call it a Hootenanny." Her eyes have hope within them, hope he will like this.

Jackie looks at the revealed guitar with widened eyes. She's only just starting to learn about these things, but even she can tell it's something special. She holds her jokes about the name for now, figuring maybe this isn't quite the moment to bring that up and spoil things for Evan.

Mention of the Fae earns a twitch from Irsa, but she doesn't have the chance to explore that topic. She stares in open admiration at Rhapsody's work and lets out a low, impressed whistle. "You've outdone yourself, Sister. I wondered what you might been workin' on, but this? This is absolutely gorgeous. How long did this take ya?"

Evan grins broadly at Rhapsody as he reverently accepts the gift "That sounds amazing. I actually know some Elivs songs. What do you think? 'Blue Suede Shoes' or 'Jailhouse Rock'?" And he takes the guitar out to examine it in more detail.

Rhapsody just grins widely, happy that he likes it! "Oh either are good choices, but I think I'm partial to 'Blue Suede Shoes'." She hands over the guitar and rubs her hands together a bit as she looks to Irsa, "It took about a week. Mostly to get in touch with the right Ancestor spirit. Had to find a more musically inclined one, and after making a few connections, pay dirt! Then it was making sure the process was a happy one." She mentions to Evan, "While not a requirement, would be good to be sure it is tuned every day."

Jackie grins at Evan. "Good thing you never sleep, right? Plenty of time to keep it happy. Not that you probably won't be up practicing on it most of the night anyway though, right?"

"Jailhouse Rock!" Beanie chirps, just as Irsa's mouth opens to respond. The Bone Gnawer eyes her familiar and shrugs. "You heard th' rat. Why not play both? Break that thing in proper-like." The spirit pipes excitedly and bounds over to Rhapsody, nattering on and on about guitars and music and singing, and isn't this lovely? Irsa looks like she's tempted to throw another bag of chips, even as her mouth cuves into a faint smile.

Evan grins at Rhapsody "Thank you so much. This is an amazing gift and suits me perfectly." Then to Jackie "At least for the next few days I'll be spending a hour or three a day getting to know it as an instrument." Then to Irsa he grins broadly and starts to play. Rhapsody's choice first, since it was her gift.

Rhapsody claps a bit with excitement. "This is going to be fantastic. If only Mercy was here to join in...oh!" She looks to Irsa, "Can you imagine string getting down to this?" A big nod, "And I think there will be lots of requests. This is a good start!"

Jackie slips her earbuds and her phone back into a pocket while she listens. "I should really be getting in more practice myself these nights."

Irsa grins at Rhapsody. "Ain't none of us got String beat for mischief." Beanie has curled up in the Black Fury's lap, chirring and singing along with the music and keeping the beat with her tail. She's a bit pokey and bristly, but Rhapsody's a tough theurge! Irsa throws back her head in a howl of approval at Evan's playing and leaps up to dance.

Evan grins and gets into the new guitar, standing up to dance around a bit before long. The song needs to be moved to and so he does.

Rhapsody has Beanie there and she has to move around and bounce a little, which will go in time with the music and the tail! She claps along and taps her toes really enjoying the show!

Jackie gets in on the infectious action, clapping on beat but not really winning any glory with her dancing skill. After a minute, she makes a confession. "You know, I don't actually know either of these songs. When you said Elvis earlier, I thought you meant Ylvis at first. You know, 'What does the Fox Say?'"

Irsa takes a swig of her unnatural orange-colored drink, and nearly chokes at Jackie's words. She wheezes as she does the dance from the video.

Evan finishes the first song and busts out laughing at Jackie "I will not be doing that one. And I may be thanked for my benevolence." Evan drinks some juice to take a little break before the other Elvis song "This is a really good guitar for this sort of music, even aside from the magic. Clear tone, not too much natural reverb."

Rhapsody looks so happy to hear the music and that the instrument is doing so well by him. "I did not want anything too over the top. It isn't the most expensive one out there, but isn't one you'd see people use to smash. Having a clear tone gives the chance for the real start to shine. That is where you come in. A Galliard needs a solid foundation, and with the spirit within it? Oh, I just know in my heart that you will be able to use your natural talents to bring everyone that added inspiration to take down the Wyrm."

Jackie recovers from laughing along with Irsa long enough to nod along with Rhapsody at Evan. "After hearing him, I'd have to agree. And you said the spirit helps with some of that battle skald sort of thing, too?"

"You ever wanna be an instant favorite at Dead Mall, bust that guitar out," Irsa observes as she slides back into her seat. Beanie skitters over to her, freeing Rhapsody to go wild if she's into that! Irsa scratches the spirit under the chin. "I guarantee ya, everyone'll be dancin'."

Evan grins at Irsa and nods "I'll remember that. The more instruments I get the more I'm motivated to find somewhere else to live other than that cabin. Not a lot of room for keeping them and the gear to care for them." Then he starts with 'Jailhouse Rock'.

<Mistseekers Pack Telepathy> Rhapsody says, "You know... we have room here."
<Mistseekers Pack Telepathy> Irsa says, "We do. I think it's time ta ask, don't ya think?"

Rhapsody looks to Irsa and then Jackie. Thinking something obviously while tapping along to the music. Her head nods to something - maybe the music?

<Mistseekers Pack Telepathy> Rhapsody says, "I do"
<Mistseekers Pack Telepathy> Jackie says, "I won't complain. I'll just make him give me a bunch of lessons with all that time we're not sleeping."

Jackie gets a small smirk on her face too, glancing at the others and then back at Evan while he rocks out. "Hey, pick a song I know for the next one, and I'll go get mine."

Irsa snickers as she turns her familiar loose to play with the other rats rolling grapes around the table. "Not what I was expectin' tonight, but I ain't gonna complain. So! Evan. You like it here, yeah? Th' Sept, this place, and th' pack. Might be a bit of a surprise, but we've been keepin' an eye on all th' new wolves. You interested in joining us? We need a talesinger, and you're second t' none." She's so slyly casual there.

Rhapsody may have been in on this and looks to Evan to gauge his reaction to the ask that has happened. One of us... one of us..

Evan grins broadly as he finishes the song and gestures over at his back pack "Sure! That'd be amazing! That's probably why I felt like I had to pack before I headed into town. I have most of my stuff with me. Well my instruments and such, need to go back for like...spare clothes and things but I got the important things."

Jackie claps her hands together sharply. "Alright, that was easy! I hope you're ready for lots of nights of no sleep, it'll be good to have someone around that can keep up with me."

The Galliard's done it now. The spirit residents practically lose their minds, piping out cheers and throwing pieces of gnawed fruit everywhere. Irsa ducks her head to avoid a cantalope rind. "Settle down!" she growls, though she says it with a smile. "Fan. Fuckin'. Tastic. All you gotta do now is meet Fog and see what he says, an' pick out a room upstairs. You wanna see if he's free, Rhapsody?"

Rhapsody nodnods and she rises, sending Beanie scurrying back around to Irsa most likely. She always has things near, and after grabbing her bag with her ritual things, she brings out a small pair of chopsticks? Yeah, that is what it is. Tapping lightly, like they are drumsticks, she makes the motions very lightly and begins calling out in spirit speech, ~Fog! Aeolus! We call upon you! Come and meet our brother! He can sing great songs and will help us! Bring your wisdom and share with us all!~

Evan grins at Jackie and considers "The trick is going to be finding somewhere to practice that we won't wake folks up. There are also some quieter drills and such that can be worked through and save full volume rehearsals for during daylight hours." Then to Irsa, Evan nods and waits to see if Rhapsody's call is answered.

Jackie nods at Evan's very reasonable ideas about not waking people up. We'll see how long that lasts. But then she seriouses up and looks around to see if Aeolus appears, and how. Shenanigans can wait for later, it's business time.

Silence greets the pack mystic's call for several long moments. The faint thrum of a single heartbeat can be heard in the room, followed by another heart, and another, and another -- the hearts of the Mistseekers, tied in spirit to their Totem. A thin mist begins to seep into the Common Room, growing thick and cloying as vaguely-glimpsed hands clutch unerringly at things within reach, the fog growing thicker and thicker until nothing else can be seen. The silence, the chill, the shrouding concealment -- these are Fog's gifts. "I hear you, proud heart," Aelous' voice whispers. "I see you, Stag's Child. Why do you wish to join these, my Chosen Ones?" The spirit's voice is quietly subdued, as if the speaker is right around the corner.

Rhapsody soaks it all in, her face beams with pride as they hear from their totem. Success! She has an encouraging look for Evan as he is asked the tough questions.

Evan grins at the question, not trying to pierce the concealment he just relaxes and seems completely chill "So I know you only asked for one reason but I've got three, in the tradition of my people - I know the value of the Seventh Crow's message. I have skills they will surely find useful. And last and most certainly not least? They were kind to me when they did not have to be and I think can help them right back."

The spirit's form roils as a darker figure begins to form within its heart. "A clever mind matched with a clever tongue. Long ago, I taught my wisdom to your people -- I charge you now to lift the heart of your Sisters, and to uphold my Ban." The figure is vaguely humanoid and drifts closer to Evan. "Silence is my payment, let no secret pass your lips, and my gifts of silence, cover, and mysteries will be yours."

Evan nods at the vague figure "A Bargain Struck then. Though to be honest that's pretty much how I operate anyway. Guess that's what makes me a good fit yeah?"

Rhapsody grins and golf claps with fast excitement. "This could not have happened at a better time or a better way." She really is pretty thrilled with this all. "Welcome to our newest Mistseeker!"

"I'm very glad to hear that," Aelous replies. "I'm going to enjoy having you work for me." The fog begins to thin bit by bit, shifting slowly to cloying mist that begins to drift away. An average-looking man remains behind, dressed in a pale gray suit that goes well with his silver hair and goatee, and gray eyes. "Oh, sandwiches," the spirit says, heading over to the table to look the spread over. The Tenement's spirit move out of Fog's way, sitting up to look up at him respectfully.

Jackie watches the fog clear and leave behind the coalesced representation of our totem, then steps over and presents knuckles to fistbump Evan once he gets distracted by snacks. She whispers in a low voice. "Welcome to the clubhouse."

<Mistseekers Pack Telepathy> Irsa says, "We got our Galliard. Fuck yeah."

Evan will return the offered fistbump to Jackie and nods "So I've got two guitars and a violin now. Just need a Keyboard, A bohdran, a Mandolin, a Lute, and...Maybe a saxephone. That last is more for fun though. I know how to play more but those are the important ones."

Rhapsody hears all that Evan wants and says, "You know, we should go to the flea market. I bet we could find most of those there for you." And adventure!

Irsa picks up her familiar and slings her around her shoulders. Now that's a big spirit. "Here's a key to the place, Evan. Let's get you upstairs, you can pick out a room."
