Acme Corp

aka Acme, Inc., a global corporation with various subsidiaries scattered across the globe. Acme Corp originated as a logistics operator and mail order catalog business but has since grown to be so much more. No one can exactly say what the central thrust of the corporation is these days, but if its innovative and cutting edge - things like anti-matter, dark energy, x-elements - they are likely to have a finger in the pie.

DIY

aka Do It Yourself, is the method of building, modifying, or repairing something without the aid of experts or professionals. Academic research describes DIY as behaviors where "individuals engage raw and semi-raw materials and component parts to produce, transform, or reconstruct material possessions, including those drawn from the natural environment (e.g. landscaping)". DIY behavior can be triggered by various motivations previously categorized as marketplace motivations (economic benefits, lack of product availability, lack of product quality, need for customization), and identity enhancement (craftsmanship, empowerment, community seeking, uniqueness).

aka Anomalistics, is the use of scientific methods to evaluate anomalies (phenomena that fall outside of current understanding), with the aim of finding a rational explanation.The term itself was coined in 1973 by Drew University anthropologist Roger W. Wescott, who defined it as being "...serious and systematic study of all phenomena that fail to fit the picture of reality provided for us by common sense or by the established sciences."
