Heidi's grandfather was a Get of Fenris Ahroun who was notoriously involved in the bush fighting of the Rhodesian Civil War, back in the 70s. He was supposedly involved in some atrocity that lead to a certain degree of disgrace considering his standing within the Garou nation, and died shortly thereafter. Heidi's father was a kinfolk, who along with her uncle, supported themselves by mercenary work in Africa after the civil war ended. A decade later, they joined up with Gerald Schwartz after he founded the Black Eagle paramilitary organization. Having spent most of her life on various militant compounds, Heidi has recently been promoted to command of her own team.

The Black Eagle is an elite paramilitary organization consisting of several companies that all report to the 'old man' Gerald Schwartz. The battalion is based out of a 2,500 square acre compound in Montana, though has support facilities all over North America. It is mostly populated by Get of Fenris kinfolk who have been handpicked by Schwartz. They are rumored to conduct black ops work for various intelligence agencies, in return for Schwartz's government contacts turning a blind eye to Black Eagle's more illicit activities - which involve serving the Garou Nation. The Black Eagle has a tight working relationship with the Get of Fenris tribe, though its dealings with other tribes are more transactional in nature.

Black Eagle contractors offer a wide array of services to potential Garou employers, who are often outnumbered and more concerned with spiritual threats than mundane ones. These services range from counter-terrorism and security consultation to tackling roles more suited to patience and military discipline than the average Garou killing machine is known for.
