magine that when you wake up one morning that everything you knew about your life was somehow wrong. It wasn't exactly a lie that you had been told by your parents or friends but just a life that wasn't yours. Like realizing that you were adopted at birth, Tanner's dreams started to become nightmarish mixes of hedonism and hellish struggles. His parents, a typical suburban couple, tried everything to help their disturbed son - even sending him to counselors and summer camps for troubled teens.
When everyone else his age was preparing for college, he was sent to Camp Why Bother where he met a counselor that was more than he seemed. While the others were talking about their feelings and making string art, Tanner was learning archery and to run through the woodland trails - a proper focus for his growing libidinous tensions. The counselor was like him, both of his world and of another. He pulled back the mists for him and let him see the Truth for once. By the end of the summer, he was pulling shots that would have made an Elf lord jealous and was able to remember his Name.
But how does one go back to a conservatively wonderful suburban life once you've run with the Fae? He couldn't live the life his parents had constructed for him so he packed a bag and headed west. He would find the others and, in time, himself.
