Part 1 of 2 - Crown Museum - Main Room

Adeline slides inside, shyly, her gray eyes wide with enthusiasm. She looks rather - wet.

Tonight, Jolene is clad all in gold, the sumptuous fabric is imbued with a metallic thread that sparkles in the light whenever she moves. This stunning gown leaves her shapely shoulders and arms bare, revealing just the right amount of skin while remaining elegantly tasteful. The gown's provocative neckline is a dramatically crafted piece that draws the eye across her body and up to her beautiful face. The masterfully rendered garment is hand tailored to fit the lady's exquisite figure, flattering her natural curves in a tasteful way and ending just above her knee. The entire garment is a work of art and certainly makes a statement.

Tonight, as the art exhibit opens, Jolene can be seen walking around, making sure the last few finishing touches are perfect for the evening, food is fresh, as she knows it will be. She is dressed in an beautiful golden original gown with her hair falling around her shoulders. Her mood quite thrilled with how the setup has gone so far as she offers a smile to Adeline as she comes in.

Dressed for warm May weather and a cocktail reception to boot, Sara Jane has gone with what the kids today call 'festival fashion' - jeans and medium heels, a designer tank top, and a loosely-fitting, lightly-flowing shawl-wrap (or a pashmina if you wanna get technical), and a leather clutch - all in warm, well-chosen earth tones.

When she Sara Jane speaks, it's slightly raspy, as if a hundred years of cigarettes and scotch was exactly what you'd need to secure a Hollywood voice-over contract.

Robin moves into the museum with BT arm in arm. He looks over the place with a smile he moves eagerly to start looking the exhibit over.

Having arrived with the majority of those who show up at the opening of doors, Sara Jane waits til the -absolute- last second before grinding her cigarette out with her heel. Once inside, she'll start where any civilized art connoisseur starts... at the snacks and champagne.

BT walks in with Robin, looking about in wonder at the place and all the various things here. She had been here once before but not for very long, and with the new exhibit everything is still new to her.

Adeline's eyes widen as she sees Jolene, and she smiles, friendly. Murmurs, "What a beautiful dress!" She glances down at herself slightly self-consciously, as well she might, but then her eyes fall on the Venice Warmth exhibit and any awkwardness is lost in her absorption. She cannot help approaching it, moth to the candle flame of the staggering art.

Sara Jane has gathered herself a small napkin of brie bites, and a glass of champagne. Cradling those with her phone in the other hand, she's got it on audio mode, as she'll dictate some notes as she goes.

Robin smiles at BT's wonder. "We can go look at everything but let’s go say hi to my friends Jolene she did everything here." He gives her a wave. "Evening Jolene. How are you tonight?"

Jolene smiles at Adeline's reaction to her dress, but just shakes her head as she continues on to loose herself in the Venice Warmth piece, and watches as the others seem to enjoy the exhibit in their own way. "Thank you very much Dr Adeline." She offers warmly. Jolene smiles warmly at Robin too and offers softly at him, "I am doing well Robin! And so glad to see you here tonight! I have been holding off on surprising my friend with your piece, but I plan to gift it soon. It is stunning." She offers a warm smile to his guest as well as she enters.

Adeline's pale cheeks flush as Jolene greets her, and she looks slightly overawed. Another bashful smile, and then her eyes slide again, as if compelled, to the artwork. She seems quietly absorbed by the sculpture, standing before it, attentive. Almost like she's listening to it. A small wet dark-clad figure, paying homage to something beautiful, something strange.

Sara Jane finds herself looking -first- at the standing exhibits, like the Matisse or Rousseau, before she'll start on the new items. Foundations are important.

BT continues to follow along, the tall woman looking at this friend of Robin's, "Hi. I'm Betty." She says simply, not having much more to add at the moment. Too many things drawing her attention this way or that, plus the fancy dress and sandals seem to have her a little distracted.

Sara Jane stops at the info kiosk, to pick up a gallery map. She'll chat briefly with whomever is manning it, asking things like if any of the Donors are here, or how often the gallery changes it's temporary shows versus long-running exhibits. It's apparent to the unnamed NPC staff that she's familiar with how-this-all-works.

Jolene appears amused and quite pleased at the reaction of the guests, being drawn to the amazing works of art, and can understand their attention being drawn from, and offers lightly, "It is a pleasure to meet you Betty. Please do enjoy the evening and take your time to look around at all the pieces, here and in the courtyard. You have all evening."

Robin nods "That's really nice to hear Jolene. This is my girlfriend Betty I think we are gonna go look at the exhibits before this one explodes from excitement." He chuckles

Sara Jane moves into the Courtyard but stops to grab a refill of the brie bites before she steps outside.

Adeline gasps when she reaches the 'Vessels' artifact. She leans forward, lips parted, and one delicate hand curves at a distance from the exhibit. Not touching it, of course, but - somehow engaging with it, feeling a power. Like a greeting.

Madeline arrives with Angie (and Shiori?) smiling warmly as she looks about at the arrangement for this evening

Jolene smiles and nods understandingly to Robin as he steps away with his girlfriend to enjoy the exhibits, and then moves back closer to the doors greeting those who come in and smiling when more familiar and lovely faces enter.

Shiori steps inside with her top hat pulled down low. She's carrying a guitar case and (for those who know her) is not dressed as she normally might be for this kind of event.

"I's not gonna explode/" BT says, shaking her head with a roll of the eyes. But still she follows along to see what other pieces of art here for looking at. For the most part she keeps her hands clasped together in front of her, almost as a self-imposed deterrent to reaching out to touch things

Adeline drags her attention from the artworks, and glances around the rapidly-filling chamber. She casts a cheerful, albeit diffident, smile to all present, and takes quiet steps towards the courtyard. There's an eagerness in the line of her slender body. A curiosity.

Angie walks in behind Madeline and looks about with sparkling eyes. "Wow, the art is beautiful" She eyes the refreshment table "Ooh Mik's joint" Angie licks her lips and makes a note to stop by that table too

Madeline laughs softly and kisses Angie's cheek "enjoy dear" and looks about for Jolene, stepping over to the woman when it seems she might have a moment

Robin stops at the sensual evolution and looks the piece enthralled by how beautiful it looks at it and then looks to BT to see what she thinks.

Angie nods and smiles to Madeline "I want to greet Jolene first, the place looks amazing"

Shiori slowly starts toward Jolene, carrying the guitar case easily in one hand.

BT tilts her head at that particular exhibit, though when it comes to understanding art, she's not all that adept. She studies it for a bit longer moving around to see from a different angle. Still she has no comment yet.

Madeline nods to Angie with a smile "She will be quite busy I fear" but waits for a moment, glancing around the room at the artwork and the people

Jolene smiles at Madeline and Angie as she sees them come in, and the reaction of those gathered surely has the brightest, happiest smile planted on the Young Woman’s features. She does take the moment and greets them both with a warm hug. "I am so glad to see you both here!"

Angie smiles brightly as Jolene hugs her "The place looks amazing Jolene! You have done a spectacular job!"

Shiori hangs back, waiting? She seems amused by something.

Robin lets BT look at the piece as long as she needs. He gives Sara Jane a wave before turning back to BT with a quick cheek kiss. "Is there anything that catches your eye that you want to see?"

"It looks like someone's tryin' to make the glass look alive. Like it's some sorta plant or Jellyfish." BT says to Robin after she's done looking at that piece. "I's happy to look at all the stuff."

Madeline steps in and embraces Jolene with a kiss to her cheek and a soft word in french before she steps back Madeline whispers "it is lovely my dear, well done. i am very proud of you"

You whisper "Thank you Madeline! I am astounded with how well the evening is turning out so far. Kat is going to be a little late though." to Madeline.

Jolene smiles at Madeline, and winks, then motions for her to enjoy the exhibit as well. "Enjoy Madeline. There are pieces throughout the Courtyard as well. Magnificent and breathtaking pieces."

Shiori waits for Madeline to step on, and then steps up to Jolene. She sweeps the top hat off and bows dramatically, then looks up at Jolene with an impish grin, "Ready to perform, My Lady," she says and the voice will give her away to those who know her, if they didn't recognize her in the costume she's donned tonight.

Robin beams seeing a painting among the collection and pulls BT over to Parchment. "Look at how beautiful this one is hun."

Madeline kisses Shiori's cheek and smiles "you look... wonderful tonight Shiori" she teases but it is with love "I am excited to hear your performance"

Jolene laughs delighted and smiles at Shiori, "I am ready for you to take the stage, Sis!" She gently squeezes her, "You will not be alone I promise. If you are ready, I will begin to announce the performance about to begin." She shakes her head, "I hardly recognized you!"

Shiori returns the hugs and grins. She then puts the hat back on her head, "It's in honor to Slash. And whenever you're ready. Is Katrina ready to go?"

Madeline steps aside to begin looking over the art on display, considering each piece carefully. Looking up she smiles at Robin's enthusiasm

No dramatic entrance, nothing exciting, a cute teenage girl with a taller, early twenties man at her side. Katie isn't really dressed for the occasion, unlike the man at her side, but she's made an appearance and surely that's something. Art isn't usually her thing. Not even attempting to understand any of what she's seeing, her small, soft hand holds onto Rick's, the fingers interlocked, a glance up at him with a questioning expression.

Satisfied with that particular piece of art, BT lets Robin lead her away to the next display. Again, she stands there, trying to figure out what it is that is supposed to be painted there. "It looks like there's some red bird with yellow beaks and heads. Kinda in a tree maybe?" She says to Robin, "I dunno that kinda stuff too good."

There is an announcement that begins to spread about the patrons that a performance is about to begin as if to answer Shiori's question for those who may want to enjoy some music while enjoying the exhibits. The music will be piped out through the sound system into the courtyard as well.

Sara Jane returns from the Courtyard, needing a refill of Champagne before joining the rest of the show.

Adeline glances about the room and gives a vague, slightly nervous, diffuse smile of friendliness to all parties present. One pale lace-clad hand flickers a little self-consciously to her wet hair, tries to tuck it behind her ear to be a bit more presentable. Then she moves to stand near one of the sculptures - 'Venice Warmth'.

No t-shirt, no tattoos visible tonight. Rick strolls in hand in hand with Katie, wearing a fashionable suit jacket, white shirt and matching trousers, but still with spiked purple hair and the piercings. He smiles down to her and then takes a look around the room, both at the art and the patrons. "oh, this is nice." he murmurs to her, and gives her hand a quick, reassuring squeeze.

Angie takes a moment and excuses herself to go and explore. The first piece of art being the food table. She snags a few snacks and a glass of champagne before moving to the looking glass

Whoosh! Where did she come from? Katie tracks Adeline as she moves into the room, giving Rick's hand a gentle pull while her free one motions in Adeline's direction, "Look who's here!", she says softly, quickly half-dragging him over to the woman. "Hi Adeline.", she smiles, reaching over to give her a friendly one-armed hug.

Shiori grins to Jolene, and Madeline, then starts toward the stage. It doesn't take long before she has a magnificent Les Paul guitar in her hands, all plugged in and ready to go.

The guitar starts, an intro of legendary proportions leading into one of the most well-known hard rock songs of its era. The sunburst Les Paul is being played by Shiori and she knows how to make it sing. Katrina walks up beside her, losing herself a little in the guitar as the intro leads into the lyrics.

She's got a smile that it seems to me reminds me of childhood memories where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky. Now and then when I see her face it takes me away to that special place and if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry. Whoa, oh, oh sweet child o' mine. Whoa, oh, oh, oh. Sweet love of mine.

Moving around the stage a little, Kat nudges Shiori playfully with her hip and moves to the front of the stage to sing to the people up front, a slight wail in the voice that shows she knows how to make hard rock work for her if it is the right song.

She's got eyes of the bluest skies, as if they thought of rain. I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain. Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place where as a child I'd hide and pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by. Whoa, oh, oh sweet child o' mine. Whoa whoa, oh, oh, oh sweet love of mine.

She ends this part of the chorus a snap of the microphone away from her. Kat turns and walks back towards where Shiori, stepping behind her out of sight as she begins to play the blistering guitar solo. Katrina smiles as Shiori shreds it, waiting for her to get all the way through the solo before stepping forward to take the song back up again.

Whoa, yeah. Whoa, oh, oh, oh sweet child o' mine. Whoa, oh, whoa, oh sweet love of mine. Whoa, oh, oh, oh sweet child o' mine. Ooh, yeah. Ooh, sweet love of mine.

Kat moves back to stand next to Shiori to sing. For a few lines Shiori and she sing to each other, Shiori providing the main lyric so Katrina can dance with her voice through the higher part.

Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do we go? Ooh, oh, where do we go? Where do we go now? Oh, where do we go now? Where do we go? (Sweet child) Where do we go now? Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay. Where do we go now?

Ah-ah. Where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Oh, where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Now, now, now, now, now, now, now Sweet child. Sweet child of mine.

Her voice finds the runs and the pitch perfectly, closing the out. Shiori carries the last of the riffs with the Les Paul like a pro and the pair stand side by side, the spotlight on the two of them is all there is for a moment and then it is dark. The pair turn and walk off stage.

Humming as she comes in, Sabrina twirls around in a circle as she takes in the beauty of the museum. "I can feel the harmony here..." Drawn inside, so much to see!

Sara Jane's attention was on the amazing cover performance on the stage, blinking out of it as Robin addresses her. "Oh, hey kid. Hey Betty." She greets Robin's date with a nod, but ais also remembering something - she's got the event flyer in her hand, which she wanted to show someone. She looks around. "Where did... Dr. Llyr go?"

Adeline heaves her attention from her reverent regard of 'Venice Warmth' and when she sees Katie and Rick she brightens appreciably, the slight tension in her slender body melting immediately. "Katie" Oh hon, it's lovely to see you." She speaks softly, in muted tones, in deference to the serious setting and impassioned performance, but there is no mistaking the warmth in her eyes. And a friendly grin to Rick. "I haven't had time to dry my hair, but you clearly got sorted!" She indicates his suave attire.

Madeline ponders Venice Warmth with a tip of her golden head then turns to listen to the performance. It may not be her sort of song, but she smiles and applauds when the final notes are played

"You too!", Katie replies to Adeline, smiling up at her, almost everyone being taller than her. Watching the interaction between her and Rick, she gives a cute little grin, "Rick was telling me he saw you at the beach again and that he was surfing! Like, Rick, surfing? He /lives/ in a library..", she ponders that for a moment, then adds, ".. not like, literally, where he lives is small and smelly. So, like a library!", she laughs. The girl gives Rick a playful nudge then lets his hand drop, but only so she can loop her arm around his waist. "What are we looking at?", she asks, peering at the Venice object.

Jolene closes her eyes as she taps her foot to the music that is played by Katrina and Shiori, tapping her foot. She then opens her eyes and strolls around the room, watching the patron’s reactions to each of the pieces, quietly observing for criticisms, observations, enjoyment, to improve upon future showings.

Rick nods his head in greeting to Adeline. "Yeah, thats why i skipped out early, so I could shower and get ready. Plus I didn't want to push my luck too hard. I have you all fooled that I can actually surf. I was lucky. Bodie give you any more problems?", he asks her with a chuckle. He give Katie a fake wounded look, but follows it up with a wink, saying "Its not smelly! Its..ok maybe it is a little. I guess it does not have the woman's touch." His eyes go to the artwork, appreciating its craftsmanship.

"Well, that's what it be lookin' like to me." BT comments to Robin as she looks at the picture. "Sometimes you see what you wants to, other times you's just sees what the artist wants. Can't says that I don't have to be lookin' for stuff...I like findin' stuff."

Adeline looks at Katie with palpable fondness, and indicates the delicate, ornate, snowy sculpture. "I love this one," she confides, and she does, there's a real tenderness to the way she looks at the work. She doesn't touch it, of course not - but she does reach one lace-clad hand as if to feel the space around it, as if she's caressing an invisible shape, the energy and force of the thing. The gesture is a kind of blend or worship and spell. "This, too, is winged -" she murmurs. "Winged for flight. Flight into dream."

Though she doesn’t seem inclined to interrupt Adeline, Sara Jane holds up the show flyer, turned to a certain image of a piece out on the courtyard. She points to it, points to outside, then gives Adeline a wink. Anyone close enough will see it is the one called 'Cherubic'.

Robin looks to Sara Jane. "I'm afraid I don't know Dr. Llyr is, so I can't help you on that front. I assume she is glued to the pieces much like I am." He looks back to BT. "Okay hun, that actually makes a lot of sense."

Shiori comes off the stage, and deftly she slides the guitar into its case once more. That done, she slings the case over her shoulder Much more comfortable that way. She pushes the top hat back a little bit and ambles over toward one of the items on exhibit.

Sara Jane blinks to Robin. Nods, "OOooookay, Kid." She thumbs to Adelina, then back to Robin. And shrugs. "I'm gonna get more champagne." And she heads back to the bar.

Sabrina goes around and looks at the various art on dispaly, taking in the sounds all around, softly clapping for the music.

Adeline claps the amazing performance by Kat and Shiori too, real enthusiasm in her gesture. Amazing music! And then her eyes catch the sight of Sara Jane holding up that particular brochure and her wide grey eyes go absolutely *huge*. "What! -" and she turns to Katie and Rick, reaches out her glove-clad hands to them, whispers, "Come to the courtyard!"

Hearing the music from the nearby stage drags Katie's attention from the art, listening to the singing and guitar playing, bobbing her head along to the music. "They're good aren't they?", she says softly, but sadly all good things come to an end and now they're packing up. Back to the art it is, standing alongside Adeline to look at the 'Venice' piece. "It looks like a tree. With less branches.", she nods, a glance up at Rick to see what he thinks.

Giving Katie's hand a squeeze, he lets go of it so he can clasp his hands firmly behind his back to look downward at the 'Venice' piece "That is a very nice piece, it has good form and space." He's using art terms, so he's at least somewhat educated seemingly. "I wonder what the artist is trying to say." He leans back up, and takes Katie's hand again in his. "Whats that Adeline?"

Robin waves to Sara Jane but asks. "What's Cherubic?" Intrigued by the flyer.

Sara Jane shows it to Robin.

Adeline takes several eager steps towards the courtyard, looking back at Katie and Rick - and Sara Jane - with an inviting expression, still extended those gloved hands. She's shining with enthusiasm. "There's another exhibit outside, it seems that I need to have another - look--" Her glance towards the courtyard is nothing short of - yearning.

The voice that comes from the dark is soft and smokey. Katrina makes a sound somewhere between humming and singing. There are no words and yet something verbal is escaping her throat at the same time. Lights rise enough to spotlight a microphone stand and as she approaches it she puts the microphone on it. Her eyes move over the audience, never staying in one place for too long and seeming to not be focused on anything.

I see your red door, I want it painted black. No colors any more, I want them to turn black. I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes. I have to turn my head until my darkness goes.

Madeline turns back to the small stage with a warm smile and gives the singer her full attention

Sara Jane looks to the stage, not knowing who is singing. But that sounded good. She smiles, whispering a note into her dictation app on her phone, while she -also- follows Adeline toward the Courtyard.

"Wait, huh, what? Where are you going?" Katie looking confused as Adeline seems to be intrigued by something at a courtyard. With a gentle pull on Rick's hand, she pulls him away from his study of something with form and space, following after Adeline. ".. want it painted black..", she starts singing as she goes, she seems to know the song that's being played, her voice sounds surprisingly good for anyone who might be nearby to hear.

BT puts her arm around Robin's shoulder, smiling a bit. "You knows me. I just gotta try and think stuffs through for myself. Else I don't be learning nothin'. Let's go look at other stuffs too."

Roger steps in to the museum, glancing about with idle curiosity. The giant man is dressed as if he belongs to a fancy shindig, though he still manages to stick out if only due to size alone. Roger begins examining the various pieces on display, his expression reserved and impassive.

Katrina's fingers slide through her hair, pushing it back from her face some, more for show than need. She sways with the music, listening to it and catching her next verse with practiced ease.

I see the line of cars and they're all painted black. With flowers and my love, both never to come back. I see people turn their heads and quickly looked away. Like a newborn baby it just happens everyday.

Taking the microphone from the stand again, Katrina moves to the edge of the stage and takes a seat to look at those gathered a little easier. There is a devil may care smile that lights her face as she continues to do what she loves, still teasing the crowd with her gaze and movements.

I look inside myself and see my heart is black. I see my red door, I must have it painted black. Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts. It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black.

Robin gives her a kiss I know hun that's why I..." He then hears the song playing and freezes. "Oh... I think I'm gonna step outside for a minute."

Adeline pauses and clasps her hands in absolute delight at the breathtaking performance. Murmurs, "LOVE this song!" When she hears Katie sing she casts her a warm glance too, and murmurs, "You really are a singing bird, Katie, hon." And then she strides back out to the courtyard -- almost runs, to be honest.

Rick finds himself being tugged gently towards the courtyard, and he lets out a little snort of amusement. "She's an enthusiastic one, isn't she" he remarks to Katie on their way out.

Angie turns to look back to the stage, listening with a dreamy look on her face. She sways gently as she dances

Mikael slips into the room quietly, pausing to check on something at the refreshment table. A warm smile comes to his face as his eyes move to Katrina on the stage and he steps to the side for a better view.

"Yeah. I was thinkin' that too." BT says after returning the kiss. "It's good to be gettin' air sometimes." She says, moving along with him over towards the exit for a little bit.

Sara Jane doesn’t run out to the courtyard, as a champagne refill distracts her.

Katrina slides down from the stage and starts to walk out into the crowd. Her fingers slide over the back of a seat here and there, but not touching the occupant in the process. The music continues and she does as well, singing to no one and yet everyone all at once.

No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue. I could not foresee this thing happening to you. If I look hard enough into the setting sun. My love will laugh with me before the morning comes.

I wanna see your face, painted black. Black as night, black as coal. I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky.

Kat moves back towards the stage as the song, the energy of the song starting to rise. Her voice gains new tension as she seats herself on the edge of the stage again, then turns to stand on the stage. The microphone goes back into the stand as she draws out the last of the song.

I've seen your red door and I want it painted black. No colours any more, I want them to turn black. I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes. I have to turn my head until my darkness goes.

The lights lower again and the spotlight vanishes as well as she bows her head at the microphone. The music plays out through the end and you can see her turn and walk away from the microphone before it is completely dark on stage.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYPWxymohWs

Madeline applauds brightly, she clearly enjoyed that song more for some reason "Brava"

Angie sneaks over to where Mikael stands and proceeds to stand next to him. She winks and smiles up at him as the music continues

Shiori watches the next performance with a smile curving her black painted lips. She applauds Katrina, and then she drifts away to start looking at art pieces. her guitar case rests across her back. she's careful not to knock against anything with the case, of course.

Mikael smiles brightly to Angie as she steps up to him leans over and murmurs something to her. Lila steps inside with Cedric, giving him a small smile before her gaze moves around the room slowly to take in the current atmosphere.

Roger glances up as the performance concludes and claps politely. Because that is what one does, yes? Yes. The giant then turns back to examine the glass sculptures on display, contemplating them in silence. Whether he is contemplating their deeper meaning or if he just is thinking of buying isn't particularly clear.

Madeline looks about after the song and smiles, stepping over to kiss Mikael's cheek "bon soir cher, the food is incredible, as always" then lifts her eyes and nods to Cedric and Lila "Bon soir, Welcome to the Crown"

Angie grins and leans up and whispers, taking a sip from her glass

Jolene had been drawn back towards the stage and claps enthusiastically for Katrina, before she takes up the microphone briefly and offers to the crowd, "Ladies and Gentlemen! Katrina Santos! Please give her a big round of applause!! You can also hear her perform at the Royal Cajun Cabaret!" She offers and smiles at Katrina, before she lets the crowd go back to enjoying the exhibit and melting back into to as a pretty wallflower.

Angie applauds for the music as she speaks to Mikael

Cedric smiles back to Lila then returns the nod to Madeline, "Hello."

Shiori stops in front of the piece labeled "Craft" and simply gazes at it for some time. A smile slowly tugs at her lips while she stands there.

Madeline smiles warmly "Bon soir Monsieur, it is nice to see both of you. I hope you are well"

Sara Jane has her champagne glass filled, and glances around again, back toward the stage, before turning her attention to the courtyard. She heads out, where it's not so loud.

Mikael pauses in his applause as he accepts Madeline's kiss. "Bonsoir, merci. Jacques will be pleased to hear how well it went. Everything is beautiful. The exhibit is stunning." The mention of Katrina's name draws Lila's attention for a moment towards the stage, but it soon turns back to

Madeline to whom she offers a pleasant smile. "Bon soir," she echoes lightly, keeping her own greeting a little on short side for right now.

Cedric looks back to Madeline, "As well can be expected given recent." Cedric looks to Lila, "Does any of the art here interest you?"

Madeline nods to Mikael "please do give him my regards" she smiles and then nods to Cedric and Lila "do enjoy yourselves tonight"

Phoenix steps in, dressed in something fitting that no doubt Mikael has picked out for the occasion. His hair is back in a long red braid down his back tonight. He glances around searching over the crowd.

Mikael gets a smile to Cedric and Lila, "Bonsoir, I hope the eve finds you both well." He notes Phoenix's arrival and raises a hand in greeting to the beautiful redhead.

"Thank you. We shall." Lila gives Madeline another smile before turning to Cedric, nodding towards the Ravine Lilichu exhibit. "I'd like to look at the newest first." she turns a warm smile then on Mikael. "It does so far."

Madeline steps over and gently takes Shiori's hand with a smile "Dearest, come and say hello to Phoenix and Mikael"

Phoenix notes the wave and heads that way, his expression brightening. "Hey."

Shiori remains standing in front of the piece, Craft, simply gazing at it, seeming completely taken with the curves and lines. At least until Madeline takes her hand. She blinks a few times and seems to surface, "Oh yes. Yes of course." she sounds distracted, but she finally turns away to walk with Madeline over to greet others. Dressed quite differently than is her normal, it might be surprising to her friends. Her guitar case is slung across her back.

Cedric smiles when Mikael gets his attention, "Why hello there, it been a while, good to see you again. We are doing fine thanks for asking. How have you been, and have you been able to spend any time with Martha since her return?"

Madeline kisses Shiori's cheek with a soft murmured word then smiles "bon soir Phoenix, you look wonderful tonight, but then, you always do"

Phoenix nods to Madeline "Evening Maddie. As do you."

Angie looks up and waves to Phoenix to him "Evening Phoenix." She then greets Cedric and Lila with a polite wave "Good evening"

Shiori nods to Madeline and seems to be settling down some. She grins as she approaches the group she knows, "Hey all." She sweeps her top hat off and holds it in one hand.

Mikael slides his arm around Phoenix, "I was wondering where you had slipped off to, cher." He smiles to Lila and nods his head to Cedric, "Oui I have. Mademoiselle Witherman has been helping me with the Courtyard garden at Vieux Carre. We share a love of plants."

Jolene seems to have found herself caught up in one of the exhibits herself, quietly mesmerized by the curves, of Sensual Evolution. Her green eyes for a moment lost in it, with a hand holding at her stomach, still. She had been moving about listening to the chatter of guests, until she got caught up in the art herself and why shouldn't she enjoy the art.

Mikael bows his head to Shiori, "Bonsoir. A pleasure to see you this eve."

Phoenix says, "Just had to run an errand" He assures and nods to Angie in greeting."

Lila slips an arm through one of Cedric's and lifts her other hand to give Angie a little wave. "Shall we?" she gives Cedric a questioning look as she nods towards the Lilichu exhibit.

Sara Jane comes in from the Courtyard with an empty glass and makes her way to the bar. She'll glance to see who is on the stage at the moment, but she doesn’t linger. Champagne calls!

Madeline laughs softly and steps over to Jolene to kiss her cheek "The song will begin soon, it is a surprise for you ma cheri"

Cedric nods back to Mikael, "Great to hear." He can see how popular Mikael is, "I will not take up any more of your attention at least not on this night." Cedric gives Shiori a nod then looks to Lila, "Oh yes, we shall."

Shiori gives Cedric a smile and a nod, "Good evening." She puts her top hat back on her head. Her look tonight is very different, but she seems to be having fun with it.

Jolene shakes her head a bit focusing back on Madeline gratefully, and smiles at her tilting her head, "Thank you Madeline. For me?" She looks a touch confused for a moment and follows her over towards the stage.

On the stage, Katrina comes back out in a purple number that can catch eyes in the dark. She's certainly not terribly shy. She has an acoustic guitar slung over the back of her shoulder and carrying a stool.

Handing a microphone to a passing employee, Kat nods towards Madeline. The guitar slings forward to rest in front of her and she takes a seat on the stool. Quietly she starts to strum the intro to More Than Words. The blonde beauty takes the microphone with a smile that could light the dark and starts to walk towards the stage, starting the opening lyrics while Katrina continues to play.

Saying I love you is not the words I want to hear from you. It's not I want you not to say, but if you only knew. How easy, it would be to show me how you feel.

Making her way to the stage, Madeline joins Katrina near the stool she sits on. Kat continues to play as the pair work their way towards the first chorus.

Lila slowly moves towards the new exhibit, glancing from Cedric towards the glass works of art with a faint smile. "Beautiful colors," she murmurs to him after a few moments, the strains of the guitar pulling her attention towards the stage where she settles her gaze on Madeline and Katrina.

Mikael gives Cedric a smile, "Oui, Monsieur. I hope you both enjoy the exhibit." He can't help but chuckle softly as he watches Shiori. He leans against Phoenix's ear to whisper something to him as his eyes turn towards the stage.

Sara Jane takes a few more photos of the art pieces and reads one of the excerpts on one of the larger pieces. She sips her champagne, then whispers into her phone, dictating notes.

Phoenix grins to Mikael and shakes his head with amusement "looks like everything is going ok." Shiori turns toward the stage when she hears a new voice singing. She smiles when she sees who it is, and she gives the performance her full attention.

Adeline is a little pale and holding an empty glass. She manages a slightly ghastly vague smile at the assembled company, and heads to the bar to balance the glass at the edge. She pauses there, quietly, and surreptitiously. Her hand is trembling a little but her long hair obscures her face.

Angie looks up as Kat sings, smiling. The smile growing broader as Maddie joins in. She moves towards whatever table has the extra champagne and she gets another glass. A sip is taken as she moves again accidentally bumping into Roger

Cedric looks over the glass works with Lila, then the voice singing gets his attention.

On the stage the chorus begins, Kat continues to play and takes up the harmony of the song with Madeline. This song is not easy and is a good showcase for both of their talents. Kat's eyes go over the room, a smile for a person here and there, but her voice stays strong to the harmony.

More than words is all you have to do to make it real. Then you wouldn't have to to say that you love me. Cause I'd already know. What would you do, if my heart was torn in two. More than words to show you feel, that your love for me is real. What would you say if I took those words away. Then you couldn't make things new, just by sayin' I love you. More than words. More than words. La di da, da di da, di dai dai da.

The song continues along, Kat taking time to make the guitar sing as much as the two of them. Sometimes there is something about an unplugged sound that makes a song reach the heart deeper.

Madeline is on the stage with Katrina, microphone in hand, lovely eyes closed as she sings the ballad, seemingly lost in the moment and not the crowd

Emrick heads in looking for someone he was supposed to meet here, but then realizes a performance is going on so he stays quiet and moves about the room slowly.

Tian wanders in casually. He looks like he feels he belongs wherever he is at, though it is pretty obvious from his repatched clothing he is not one that would be invited to a high-class social event. Carried so casually that it seems a part of him in his left hand is an old worn violin and bow. He pauses to listen to the music nodding softly with a smile on his lips at the singing.

Mikael blinks his eyes in surprise but then a bright smile comes across his features and he murmurs, "I had no idea the Mademoiselle could sing so well."

Jolene smiles clearly happy as she listens to Madeline and Katrina singing together. Her hand coming to her heart and smiling at them adoringly. Clearly there is a lot of love in her heart for the two on them. She winks at MIkael.

Lila keeps her gaze on the stage, leaning into Cedric a bit as she says something quietly to him with a slight smile.

Roger glances aside at Angie as he is bumped. He gives her an up and down, then it all clicks together as he recalls her face. The giant smirks faintly and inclines his head. "Heya Trouble," he offers with a smirk. "Got any more drink selections to recommend, or are we behaving tonight," he wonders with amusement.

Adeline claps quietly in respect to the impassioned musical performers. Then she bows to Jolene, mute thanks for hosting such an exceptional event. Then she makes her way to the door, and leaves, surreptitiously. On the way out she glances at Sara Jane, and murmurs, "Ms Wentworth."

Angie feels a blush coming to her cheeks as she has a moment of clumsiness. She looks up and her eyes widen slightly and then it clicks. She smirks gently "Hey Mr Adios..and not tonight, it's just a champagne kind of night"

Phoenix glances to Mikael and nods with a shrug at something he says.

Sara Jane's empty champagne glass goes onto the tray of a passing server and she stops one last time at the food table for a final snack.

Santigo applauds softly for those up on the stage and says softly, "Striking. Beautiful."

Cedric nods to Lila, "I agree on both points."

Emrick notices the champagne then and gets a glass, sipping it with a smile as he walks around the gallery, listens to the music, and looks for the person he was supposed to meet.

Shiori applauds as well. A smile curves her black painted lips. She then turns to those she's near and says, "Excuse me. There's more in the other room. I'm going to go take a quick look." With that the small rocker turns and strides toward the next room.

Mikael murmurs something at Phoenix's ear as he listens to the emotionally charged song. He applauds enthusiastically, "Bravo, Mesdemoiselles."

Though she is still wrapped in the singing of the harmony, Katrina really loses herself in the guitar as well, teasing the string. Madeline sings with a beauty only matched by the lady herself as the pair continue perform.

Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand. All you have to do is close your eyes and just reach out your hands and touch me. Hold me close don't ever let me go! More than words is all I ever needed you to show. Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me. 'Cause I'd already know. What would you do if my heart was torn in two? More than words to show you feel that your love for me is real. What would you day if I took those words away? Then you couldn't make things new just by saying I love you. La di da, da di da, di dai dai da More than words La di da, da di da La di da, da di da, more than words. La di da, da di da, di dai dai da La di da, da di da, more than words More than words.

As the two draw the song to a close, the hold the last few words in a slow rhythm, soft harmony and Katrina strums the last few chords a little softer. The song draws to a close and Katrina pushes the guitar back behind her arm again, motioning towards Madeline for folks to applaud her current partner in crime.

Roger chuckles faintly at Angie and inclines his head. "A little too fancy for you to randomly try and get me drunk, eh?" The bruiser smirks and takes a champagne flute off of a passing tray to sip at lightly. "So you see anything you like," he inquires, brow raised in curiosity. "I'm not normally part of the art scene," the giant admits.

Jolene can't help but applaud for the beautiful and heartfelt song that makes her sign out 'I love you' To both Katrina and Madeline. She is clearly in aww of the way they sound together and whistles for them.

Madeline’s sapphire eyes finally open as the last note fades and she smiles, lowering the microphone and laughing gently before turning to kiss Katrina's cheek

Lila adds her own soft applause to the mix, her smile broadening a bit. She turns her attention back towards the main exhibit and then to Cedric. "Anything particular you'd like to look at next?" she asks in a quiet voice.

Arya steps into the museum and looks around. She does like to see who is here and what is going on when such a large crowd gather.

Sara Jane is talking with a small group of attendees near one of the pieces, asking them questions.

Cedric claps to the performance that was just done, he looks to Lila, "In particular no, but lets look over what we can with the limited time we have to stay here."

Madeline puts the microphone back in its stand and gently slips from the stage and smiles upon spotting Arya, weaving her way through to the young woman

Katrina takes a moment to bow after the kiss to her cheek. She steps away from the stage to allow a house band to get ready for the next number and maybe a quick costume change. This last one should make memories so who knows what will come next?

Angie takes a moment to applaud loudly for the beautiful performers, a big smile on her face. She then looks up at Bruno and laughs. "I don’t know what you're talking about..." She maintains her innocent expression as her eyes sparkle. "The shrubland one looks nice...so does the food table"

Phoenix watches contentedly for now as he stands near Mikael.

Arya smiles at Madeline as she walks up to her and she returns the kiss to the cheek. "Ah, hello darling. How are you today, Madeline?" She looks disappointed for a moment. "Were you singing, and I missed it?"

Lila nods slightly at Cedric's words and begins to walk slowly, looking around to 'people watch' a bit before they get to the next bit of artwork.

Madeline laughs merrily and hugs Arya "I am very well, even better now to see you dear one" she says then shrugs "a onetime occurrence I assure you, in public at least. Perhaps something could be arranged upon a Wednesday evening, but only if you will dance"

Mikael applauds as the two take their bows, and glances over at Angie and Roger, seeming amused about something. He bumps against Phoenix, "Quite the crowd this eve."

Phoenix glances around and nods "Big turnout" he agrees

Santigo who was standing near the entrance takes a step or two to where Arya and Madeline are standing. He speaks with a musical softness to his voice and with a Romany accent says to her, "Dear lady, that was almost as beautifully sung as you are beautiful. Thank you." He gives a small smile and then will take a step away from the pair to look to the stage.

Returning from the courtyard, Katie's mood has dropped and so has her interest in the exhibits. Instead there's food to be found, the girl making her way to the refreshment table where she decides mostly on the Cajun sausage bites, half filling a plate with them, but she has one of everything else too. It's free and it looks tasty.

Madeline turns to Santiago with a curious smile and inclines her head "merci monsieur" she offers and follows him with her gaze for a moment

Rick comes in a few moments after Katie, moving over to her. Touching his hand to her arm, he leans forward and says something to her quietly.

Rick mutters to Katie, "I'm getting my fill... eating... of..."

Anybody that knows Katrina knows she is a biker at heart and most comfortable in leather and denim. That said, she returns to the stage in her favorite leather jacket and seems more at ease even as the drummer starts to tap the beat. The guitar comes to life next and Kat's features show a half grin, devil may care expression as she reaches for the microphone and takes it off the stand to move with the music.

Don't listen what your girlfriend says. She reads those magazines that say you failed the test. You don't have what she needs. I slither like a viper and get you by the neck. I know a thousand ways to help you forget about her. That bitch can eat her heart out! Love bites, but so do I, so do I. Love bites, but so do I, so do I. Love bites!

What's the point of being on stage if you can't show off a little? While she does sing at lot at her club, this night seems to be bringing her to the surface and this song is letting her cut loose and forget anything other than the show.

Cedric and Lila look over the different art work. Cedric finds some of the artwork more pleasing to the eye than others.

Roger glances towards the food table and nods, mentioning, "I ought to hit that up," as he licks his lips. He holds off though, not outright abandoning his conversation partner just for food. "And we both know damn well that you're a troublemaker at heart," he says with amusement to Angie.

Though she has a plateful of food, Katie drops the plate back onto the table after hearing Rick's whispered thoughts. A quick nod to him, then she's looking up at the musicians on stage, a little wriggle of her hips as the sound catches her, a smile as she hears the singer. "Nice..", she says softly. Not staying for the entire song, however, she turns to Rick and takes his hand, eager to leave it seems.

Angie bats her eyelashes. "I am..not." She then laughs gently and starts for the food table "Cmon you have to try these shrimp thingies"

Lila eyes Cedric as they make their way to several other displays, quietly gauging his reaction to each one. As Katrina starts in her next number, her attention to drawn back to the stage and she can't help but grin at the song choice.

Sara Jane is talking with a small group of attendees near one of the pieces, asking them questions. She's using her phone as a dictation device, conducting friendly and informative interviews.

Taking Katie's hand, Rick starts heading for the door, parting a path for her to follow after him through the crowd.

Santigo nods to the music of the song, tilting his head from time to time, and then nodding to the music again. The rest of the room might as well not even be there as his focus is on Katrina as she sings on the stage.

Moving around the stage and dancing a little with the cordless microphone Kat agitates the guitar player a little, teasing as the song continues. Back towards the front of the stage, she continues to let her freak flag fly for all to see.

My lips are pale and vicious. You're foaming at the mouth. You've suffered in the darkness. I'll suck the pain right out. So come and taste the reason, I'm nothing like the rest. I kiss you in a way you'll never forget about me.

That chick can eat her heart out! Love bites, but so do I, so do I. Love bites, but so do I, so do I, so do I!

Madeline turns back to Arya with a smile "The artwork Jolene has gathered is just incredible, come and see"

Cedric looks to the time then to Lila, "I think we have stayed as long as we could. It is about time for us to go."

Circe makes her way through the crowd while pausing to look at various pieces of art on display and enjoy the music.

Jolene is content to listen to the music from the background this evening, and let the music and artwork speak for itself. She does not need to do much but observe to make sure that nothing goes sideways on her. She does offer a warm smile to Cedric and Lila though as she sees them and offers a bow of her head to them.

Madeline smiles and nods to Cedric and Lila "walk safely in the night, thank you for coming"

Arya stops a moment to listen to Katrina and she waves at her before turning back to Madeline and letting her take her around. "Oh? You know that I do appreciate beautiful art."

Eventually, Sara Jane makes her way around the room over to where Madeline stands. Waiting a moment til she's not engaged with any fawning clients or enthralled attendees, she introduces herself.

"Miss Blanchard? Sara Jane Wentworth. I'm doing a story on the up and coming Prospect art scene. You've done an excellent job showcasing Monsieur Lilichu's work. Do you have any comments?"

Slipping her jacket off, Katrina tosses the heavy leather to the side and takes a seat on the edge of the stage, leaning towards the gathering, almost talking to them in her music. She winks when Arya waves and then goes back to the song.

It checks you in and kicks you down and chews you up and spits you out. It messes with your sanity by twisting all your thoughts around. They say it's blind, they say it waits, but every time it seals your fate. And now it's got you by the balls it won't let go until you fall. I was down and out, got up I said "Hey love I've had enough!" I've felt pleasure without pain. My soul you'll never tame!

Love bites, but so do I. Love bites, but so do I, so do I. Love bites, but so do I, so do I, so do I! Love bites, but so do I, so do I. Love bites! Love bites!

The song is pretty wild and takes a little out of her, Kat lays back on the stage after the last of the lyrics, music covering a few seconds to catch her breath and laughing in spite of herself as the song comes to an end. She sits back up and stands to put the microphone in the proper place before grabbing her jacket to step away for a few.

Lila lets out a soft laugh as she continues to watch Katrina's performance, genuinely enjoying what she sees. "This fit in well with our other plans though," she then says to Cedric with a nod. Catching Jolene's smile, she offers one in return along with a small wave in her direction. At Madeline's words, she nods. "Thank you. It was a pleasant evening for sure."

Mikael moves towards the artwork with Phoenix. He passes by Angie and murmurs teasingly to her, "It's andouille sausage." He chuckles softly.

Madeline had turned to go to the displays with Arya but pauses when she is spoken to. Smiling she nods for Arya to go along without her and turns to Sara Jane. "Bon Soir Mademoiselle Wentworth. While I am the owner of the Crown, I do not curate the exhibit, this was brought in by the Museum's curator Jolene Addison" and looks about for Jolene

Sara Jane nods, "Thank you, Ma'am. I'll look for her. Please, enjoy your night... and your guests."

Santigo applauds softly. He calls out, "Wonderful!" He takes a glass of the bubbly as it is is being carried by him and remarking to the server, "I think one should have many drinks before letting that one into your arms, then, then it would be ok."

Shiori steps back in, keeping the guitar well behind her and away from the exhibits. She pauses once more, gaze scanning the room to get an idea where everyone is.

You sense Madeline looks over you and waves a little, gesturing towards the reporter.

Roger follows along to try the shrimp thingies. Because shrimp is delicious, and he's been invited to do so. The giant makes his way with Angie to the food table and starts sampling various platters, a little shrimp here, and is that watermelon with brie? Well we have to at least TRY that. And then there's the short ribs on garlic crostini and stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon. So many options, and it would just be RUDE not to try them all. Really it would. "Ok, you keep playing innocent," Roger says teasingly to Angie. "It'll be our little secret."

Jolene moves up to Katrina and gently squeezes her hand, while she is taking a break and kisses her cheek, "Remind me not to make you mad sweetheart." She offers softly to Katrina. "You and Shiori were amazing tonight!" She does let go though at the mention of her name, by Madeline, thinking her time as a wallflower might have come to an end.

Katrina smiles and pauses to meet with Jolene. She is a little flushed, but adrenaline is an amazing thing. She laughs softly and leans towards the kiss on her cheek, "You'd really have to try." she teases softly. A nod and she replies, "Thank you. She's amazing." When Jolene's attention moves to Madeline Kat goes backstage for another change.

De Gris is dressed in a tan tailored suit for the evening with a white shirt and tie to match the fabric of the jacket. He is new and carries himself alone, not out of snobbery but simply unfamiliar with most.

Cedric inclines his head to Jolene, he looks to Madeline, "Thank you for the fun evening, farewell." He gives Arya a nod then starts to walk out with Lila.

Madeline smiles at Cedric and Lila "so pleased you could come"

Sara Jane finishes her last conversation, returns an empty champagne glass, and does one last circuit around the room.

Shiori spots a familiar face, once she has not talked with in a while, and she starts toward Arya. When she draws near, the small woman in top hat, black lipstick and leather sweeps the top hat off and bows with a flourish to Arya. When she straightens, she has an impish grin on her face, "It's good to see you." She offers to Arya in her clear voice.

Jolene carefully approaches the reporter, and offers softly to her, "It is my understanding that you may have a few questions?" She smiles warmly to Sara Jane. I can certainly take some time to answer any you have?"

Madeline is not far from the door and nods to De Gris as he enters "bon soir Monsieur, welcome to the Crown"

Sara Jane stops her exit, turning to Jolene. Pausing, perhaps caught off guard. She kinda stammers for a moment. "Oh... uh... Journalist. We don’t really call ourselves reporters anymore." She gave a slight smile, "Uh... good turnout, Ma'am. How did you meet the artist, Monsieur Lilichu?"

Angie stands next to the food table with Roger and watches as he samples the food. She follows suit and samples some of the delicious food, taking sips of champagne in between. "I have nothing to hide" She smirks at him

Circe moves along stopping to eye the art named 'Vessels' and looking down into the holes on top. As if seeing if something could be dropped in their or if it goes all the way through. Mikael sips on his champagne and then motions to the piece in front of him and asks Phoenix, "Are there any that catch your fancy?"

Phoenix shrugs and looks them over thoughtfully. "I'm not much of a critic"

De Gris bows to Madeline. "Buenas noches mi Duquesa Blanchard. You are very gracious. This is quite well crafted and the aesthetic... It is as I expected from a lady of your stature. Thankyou."

Santigo moves over to the art exhibit area and starts looking at the different pieces. He pauses at each piece and closes his eyes a moment, taking in a deep breath and then letting it out slowly and then opens his eyes to look at the piece of art to take it all in.

Madeline laughs "I'm certainly not nobility sir" she smile "just a business owner and very happy to have all of my guests here tonight. I do hope you will enjoy the show"

Jolene offers softly at the question and smiles at Sara Jane, "My Father loved to acquire companies, pieces of art, and travel the world, and in his travels we have been able to see some of Monsieur Lilichu's works, but sadly it has been a long time since he has created pieces, and these are pieces our family has been able to gather over the years, and the deserve to be shared with the public. His work is truly inspirational, and I hope that it will inspire others to follow their heart and create what they feel."

Sara Jane says, "Oh, this is a private collection?" She asks Jolene. "Is Monsieur Lilichu no longer with us?"

Mikael chuckles softly, "I did not ask for that, cher. Do you like any of the pieces enough to take one home?"

Phoenix grins and shrugs. "I'm not sure. What do you think?"

Katrina takes the stage and yet again her clothes have changed. Everything she wears hugs her like she was poured into it. In her left hand she holds a shot glass and her right she has a bottle of amber liquid. She rolls the glass over the back of her hand to the tips of her fingers, turning the hand palm up to catch. A lazy toss into the air and a half rotation makes the bottle easier to pour with. As the music starts, guitars and drum starting a steady and slow rhythm, she pours herself a shot. She spins the bottle in her palm and sets it on the stool center stage. She takes the shot and places the shot glass rim down as the spotlight reveals the label on the bottle: Black Velvet

Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell. Jimmy Rodgers on the Victrola up high. Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder. The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky. The boy could sing, knew how to move...ev'rything. Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for Black velvet and that little boy smile. Black velvet with that slow southern style. A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees. Black velvet if you please.

There must be a little fire in that drink as her voice takes on a more husky tone than the prior songs. The blues talks to anyone who listens and she knows how to get you to listen. She doesn't dance so much as sway and move around the stage slowly, letting every part of her add to the show.

Shiori moves to follow Arya out, after lifting her hand to Madeline by way of letting her know she's leaving. She then slips out quickly after the taller woman.

De Gris smiles. "I intend to." He moves away from Madeline as she is a busy host.

"It is a private collection and Mister Lilichu is still with us, but due to multiple injuries it has left him unable to do the work himself so he has a company of artisans, who is wife runs the studio for. There are many other exhibits across the world though and even here in the United States for that matter." Jolene folds her hands in front of her, as she falls in comfortably to answer the questions that Sara Jane asks of her.

Roger looks with amusement to Angie and remarks, "So you admit to being a troublemaker?" He smirks at the woman with a wink and scarfs up another shrimp and sausage nommy. Because those are, in fact, delicious. The giant washes it down with a sip of champagne and looks to the various pieces on display. "I kind of like the blue one that tangles up," he muses. Ahh, the subtle nuances of the art critic.

Madeline nods with a smile and looks about for Angie, having not spotted the girl for a little while

The longer the song goes, the more there is a strong growl and gravel in her tone. Katrina lets the song move the rest of her through the performance. This song is very comfortable to her and she sings it without thinking too much about it.

Up in Memphis the music's like a heat wave. White Lightnin' bound to drive you wild. Mama's baby's in the heart of ev'ry school girl. "Love Me Tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle. The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true. Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for... Black velvet and that little boy smile. Black velvet and that slow southern style. A new religion that'll bring you to your knees. Black velvet if you please.

Though she's been on the stage tonight, Katrina takes a step off the edge, dropping lightly to the floor with no real effort and starts to walk through the crowd a little, bringing the entertainment to the crowd it would seem.

Angie laughs "Ok not an outright troublemaker...things just happen" She winks and nibbles on another appetizer and hmms. "tiramasu from Caravelli's joint would top this off perfectly." Her eyes shift to the art piece that he describes "That blue is rather pretty.."

Sara Jane nods to Jolene's answers, pleasantly smiling. "Well, we're fortunate for that. Anything special you'd like to share about this collection?"

Madeline turns to Katrina as she sings this song, not knowint it but she does enjoy the beat. Smiling when she hears Angie's voice, the blonde slips through the crowd to find her

Jolene smiles at Sara Jane and offers, "The methods used are truly inspiring, Ravine Lilichu is a master glass smith, a trailblazer in his field, who was never afraid of failure. He believes it is alright to fail, to try and try again, until you find a way to perfect that which you are passionate about, and it shows in his every piece he has ever created. At the end of the Exhibit the pieces here will be up for sale. And that this exhibit will inspire other local artists to approach us and share their work too. There is already one Promising Artist, who has, and I hope to share this budding artist with the city soon as well."

Sara Jane is recording her chat with Joline, using an app on her phone. Yay science. "Oh, I'd love to interview them. Maybe do a showcase on their work?"

De Gris remains introspective, moving from piece to piece, not touching but sometimes he reaches a handout only to draw it back before contact.

Mikael turns to watch the show again as Katrina takes it down to the audience. "The music is truly calling to her soul," he comments to Phoenix.

"Uh huh," Roger offers Angie with skepticism. "You just happened to go ahead and give me an Adios Motherfucker. It was all a horrible misunderstanding," he chuckles. "Poor girl is innocent and a victim of happenstance here." His accusations lose much of the sting with the grin he has spread across his face.

Circe having poked around makes her way back out.

Madeline appears just behind Angie in time for that little speech and arches and elegant brow at Roger.

Phoenix glances over, following Mikael’s line of view "Looks like"

Seeing someone she knows well, Katrina smirks a little bit and meanders towards Mikael. She smirks as she draws close and she starts to sing the last of the song to him for a bit, her index and middle start to walk up his chest a few steps and she winks.

Ev'ry word of ev'ry song that he sang was for you. In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon. What could you do?.

Katrina leans up and kisses Mikael's cheek lightly, wrinkling her nose with a playful grin and turning to continue her song, a look lingering on him until she is turned fully away towards the stage again.

Black velvet and that little boy smile. Black velvet in that slow southern style. A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees. Black velvet if you please.

Katrina walks past Jolene as she moves back to the stage. She let's one finger trail over her cheek lightly and then makes her way back up the stage, taking each step with a quick cadence.

Black velvet and that little boy smile. Black velvet in that slow southern style. A new religion that'll bring you to your knees. Black velvet if you please. If you please. If you please. If you please.

Katrina more or less slinks her way to the microphone stand once more and hangs the mic back in place. She gets the bottle and shot glass and walks to teh back of the stage as the music plays to the end.

Phoenix cocks a playfully jealous brow from Mikael's side over to her.

"Robin Belle. He has a passion for sharing his heart on canvas. And I am trying to encourage him to follow his heart in the pieces he creates. He also does beautiful work with metal, but his heart..is..capturing the spirit of passion.." Jolene offers thinking there is no other way to explain Robin's work.

Angie laughs and looks him over "Like one would touch you, unless you are a lightweight" She teases as she looks behind her to see Maddie

Sara Jane nods to Jolene. "Robin Belle. Alright. I'll look him up." She smiles, "Thank you, Ma'am. Appreciate the time, and please, don't let me take you away from your guests."

Mikael chuckles softly, waggling his eyebrows at Katrina before looking to Phoenix with a 'What?' expression on his face.

Santigo turns to watch Katrina's playfulness as she sings. He loses track of the art in the song. He nods at her and then makes his way toward the door, placing the empty glass on a serving tray before he exits.

Nix chuckles and bumps his shoulder into Mikael's lightly.

Roger tilts his head from side to side and replies, "It's not whether or not I'd get hammered on one that's the point. It's that you were trying to get me drunk to take advantage of me," he declares to Angie with mock indignation and an upturned nose. "I'm not that kind of girl, you know," the bruiser objects, humor evident in his expression.

Jolene smiles warmly, "No, Thank you, for taking the time to come out and let me share the beauty of such a gifted artist with you and Prospect. I hope you enjoy your evening as well." She then smiles back to Katrina at the trailing of her finger across her cheek. "Another Gifted Artist that has gone unnoticed in this town, rising to new heights in her own right. Katrina Santos. That is another name to note." She offers confidently to Sara Jane.

Mikael leans over and gives Phoenix a quick kiss on the cheek before he applauds enthusiastically for Katrina, giving her a thumbs-up gesture.

Sara Jane nods, "The singer." She smiles and takes note. "Alright. Thank you." And she hands a business card from her purse. "Here's my card."

Madeline hmm's softly and leans forward to brush a kiss to Angie's cheek, a look given to Roger before the blonde moves on

Jolene takes the card and smiles at her, then looks at her name, "Thank you Ms Sara Jane! Walk safely in the evening. We are grateful you joined us tonight."

Roger smiles faintly towards Madeline, his expression bemused, and then he leans in to whisper quietly to Angie, his expression a curious one.

Madeline smiles to hear a phrase spoken by Jolene and pauses to check in with Phoenix and Mikael "I believe the drinks are in the courtyard, would either of you like anything?

The final costume change of the night finds Katrina back in her leather jacket, black tank top, and jeans. She nods to a few people and makes her way into where others are gathered. Her eyes scan the room and she frowns thoughtfully. Taking out her phone she thumbs a message and then makes her way to Jolene's side for the moment. "Think that's all I have in me tonight love."

Mikael glances to his empty champagne glass. "I could go and get another and one for you as well if you wish. Might I take the moment to say how wonderful your performance was. I had no idea your voice was so lovely."

Jolene smiles at Katrina and offers softly as she squeezes her hand again and kisses her cheek softly. "I will see you at home later My Love." She offers warmly as she says that with clear affection for Katrina.

Angie takes another sip of her champagne and smiles to Madeline. When Roger whispers to her she shakes her head and whispers back.

Katrina nods and leans against the cheek kiss a little, "See you there." she murmurs softly and lets Jolene get back to work and moves over to Mikael to hug him from behind and kiss his cheek lightly, "Thanks for being a willing victim handsome."

Mikael chuckles softly at the hug, and looks at Katrina from over his shoulder, "My pleasure, Mademoiselle. Truly my pleasure. You were superb this eve."

Jolene watches as Katrina gets ready to leave, and then looks down at her phone buzzing at her side, and laughs, as she reads a message sent to her. Then goes to prepare a sign for one of the pieces. "I should have known."

Roger 'huhs' and shrugs at that, apparently oblivious as to what might have caused the brow raise and hairy eyeball he received. "Ok. Well one of these nights we'll have to see how much more trouble you can cause," he offers to Angie with a smirk. "Take care, kiddo." The giant finishes off his champagne, sets the flute on a passing tray, and lumbers out for the door.

Katrina laughs softly and squeezes him once more and replies, "Always too kind my friend. Thank you for coming too." She lets him free and offers a nod to Madeline and Angie, "Madeline thank you for joining me on this one last minute. I owe you if you need a singer for something." She winks at Angie and tells her, "Hey sis. We need to get you up there soon."

Angie smiles and waves to him as he goes. "Such a nice fellow." She chuckles and looks to Kat "Hmm very soon" She hugs Kat "You were amazing up there sister"

Mikael gets a message on his cell and glances over to the doorway before he moves towards it.

Katrina leans over and kisses Angie's cheek lightly, "I have to get going, that club won't run itself no matter how hard I try. We need a night and soon. You game?"

Jolene moves up to Angie and gives her a warm hug, "Thank you so much for coming tonight Angie! You know you get to be the next one up there on that Stage if you would honor me, Angie?"

Angie hugs Jolene "The event was absolutely wonderful Jolene and I will prepare some songs and maybe a dance routine. I have the best teacher" She hugs her again.

"I really want to show Robin Belle next. His has this remarkable artistry for literally depicting the passion pouring out of the artist. It is remarkable work! And seeing you perform in such a way, would be breathtaking Angie." She seems to be beaming tonight. "Go join the others. I can clean up here."

Part 2 of 2 - Crown Museum - Courtyard

The Crown Museum - Courtyard

Sara Jane has come in from the main museum, to check out the artwork here in the Courtyard. She's got a napkin of Brie Bites, a glass of champagne, and her cellphone... which is on 'dictate' mode, as she moves from piece to piece.

Madison it seems to be drawn to the Ascension exhibit like a Fiery sun, bursting there in the middle of the courtyard, her hands held gently by her sides, wrapped in those bandages gently. She mostly stays to herself.

Sara Jane moves about the pieces, paying special attention to Ascension - the complicated glass 'flower' in the center. She'll snap a few photos, but mostly is talking into her phone recording, and... an astute eye... might note that she's also paying attention to the comments and observations of those around her.

Sara Jane moves about the pieces, paying special attention to Ascension - the complicated glass 'flower' in the center. She'll snap a few photos, but mostly is talking into her phone recording, and... an astute eye... might note that she's also paying attention to the comments and observations of those around her.

Madison stands back away from the exhibit as Sara Jane steps up closer to it, giving her a moment to step away and appreciate another of the exhibits this evening.

Adeline drifts into the Courtyard, eyes wide and eager, instantly scouring the scene for additional art. She blinks at the elegance of those presence, and bows her head in a formal, friendly kind of greeting. Then she moves to look at the artworks, starting with Ascension. She smiles at Sara Jane, then glances at the recorder, then back to meet Sara's eyes. Is there a touch of mischief in that expression? She says, slightly sidelong. "Lots to notice."

Sara Jane looks over to Adeline. A long pause as she seems to be thinking, then it clicks. A smile. "Ah... Doctor Llyr, is it? Good to see members of the scientific community out to celebrate the arts." Her voice is raspy, but still cultured. "Have you seen a piece you like, so far?"

Adeline's grin deepens a tiny bit. "I'm not the most plausible member of the scientific community," she admits candidly. "This kind of space is rather more my meter" - and she stretches her leather-clad arms wide, to take in the dizzying array of artwork. "And yes, for pieces - god, I love a lot of them," and she does, she suddenly looks very serious, any bashfulness or mischief faded. "The way they conduct light is fucking exquisite transfiguration." The profanity is out of place, but she says it factually, as if only that adjective is adequate to convey the force of the works.

Sara Jane chuckles. Maybe at the profanity, but probably not. She grins. "The Artist is quoted as saying..." She pauses, then does a French accent, "Glass is the most magical of all materials. It transmits light in a special way." Sara Jane's French accent is actually more comical than accurate.

Madison's head tilts at the force of Adeline's comments about the art, and then finds herself laughing at Sara Janes attempt at French, though she tries to keep that laugh and smile hid behind her hand. Finding herself moving towards the Farsi that draws her own attention.

Adeline grins back at Sara Jane, her smile easy. Maybe with a slight challenge. "Does he now? Well I would agree. Though -" and again the playfulness ebbs, and she looks at Ascension. "Though -" and now her voice is soft, serious. "There are other things that conduct light, that I'd love to see in this form factor."

"Light is... a complicated genre, for both artist -and- scientist." Sara Jane concedes to Adeline with a smile. "Or so I've heard. I'm Sara Jane Wentworth, covering the opening for some obscure and unremarkable art journal. Nice to meet you." She offers a hand.

Adeline's grin broadens, and she takes Sara Jane's hand with alacrity in her own, wet lace glove notwithstanding. "Ms Wentworth, a pleasure. Adeline Llyr. And obscure and unremarkable art journals are my *very* favorite journals," she assures the woman solemnly. A conspiratorial smile. Her eyes are sparkling.

"A lot less exciting than dodging exploding plaster, but one's gotta pay the bills, right?" Sara Jane chuckles, casually drying her hand on her pashmina, but trying not to be obvious. She lowers her voice, whispering to Adelina, 'Is that Madeline Lee, the ballerina?"

Adeline glances slightly wide-eyed at the staggeringly beautiful Madison, and murmurs, "I am not sure. I mean I've been in California approximately three days and spent most of it jetlagged, in the water, or -" and she blushes suddenly, coughs, and shakes her wet hair over her face slightly. "Snacks!" she exclaims, spotting Sara Jane's brie holdings.

Distracted back to her napkin and the Brie Bites, Sara Jane absently offers them to Adeline, without even a comment. There's at least two of them left. However, her champagne -is- empty, so demands a refill.

There is an announcement that begins to spread about the patrons that a performance is about to begin in the Main Room for those who may want to enjoy some music while enjoying the exhibits. The music will be piped out through the sound system into the courtyard as well.

Adeline accepts Ms Wentworth's brie treasures with enthusiasm, taking bites quickly, just about managing to stay on the 'elegant' side of the cocktail party continuum.

Sara Jane's ears tilt up at the announcement, and then with another glance to Madison, Sara Jane turns her attention back to Adeline. "Shall we follow the trumpets to the grand reveal?" She nods toward the main gallery.

Adeline nods enthusiastically. "We shall!" And heads back in.

Madison is out in the courtyard enjoying the pieces that are on display out here, dressed in a rather beautiful gown this evening, and her hands in green bandages. She seems to be content to be on her own tonight.

Adeline has veritably *scampered* to the sculpture 'Cherubic' and is staring at it like - like some staggering thing has just materialized in a courtyard and mugged her personally.

Following along behind the scampering Adeline, Katie takes her time, gently leading Rick by the hand, though seeing Adeline so excited has her smile and break into a little giggle. "Like, /so/ enthusiastic. It's like me when I first came here.", she smiles, a glance at Rick, then back to Adeline, moving up alongside her. "Ooh, it's a squid! Or octopus. Or like, Cthulhu! That's a roleplaying game at Guardian Games. The Call of Cthulhu. It's got like big squid tentacles for a mouth.", she chuckles.

Rick and Katie stroll out into the courtyard after Adeline, though not nearly with as much energy or excitement. Rick is looking rather dapper tonight, having traded in his t shirt and pants for a suit jacket, uncolored dress shirt sans tie, and matching slacks. He looks over at the object of Adeline's affections and notes "That’s like something right out of the Cthulhu mythos, isn’t it."

Adeline's reaction to the thing is - well, frankly, it seems rather disproportionate. She's staring at it with the strangest expression on her face - alarm, ecstasy, and most of all a kind of deep, fierce joy. Her usual sweet, blithe, slightly chaotic demeanor has shifted entirely. She's sharper, absolutely focused. She's gazing fixedly at the 'Cherubic' sculpture, her body tensed.

Rick's eyes narrow a bit at Adeline's reaction, and he leans over towards Katie's ear and whispers something to her softly.

Listening to the Latin that's being said to her, Katie tilts her head, then nods to what seems to be a question from Rick. Moving over to Adeline, she gently takes the woman by the hand, pulling her back a bit if she can, speaking softly and trying to catch her attention. "Adeline..? Are you okay?", her voice soft and sweet.

Sara Jane steps outside into the courtyard, with a fresh glass of champagne in one hand and her dictation-app phone in the other. She doesn’t move into the open area, staying where she is for a minute to take it all in.

Adeline's head snaps around when Rick mutters, and for a moment her grey eyes are - wild, that's the only word for it, kind of unseeing, like she's not quite here. For a bare moment there's something ferocious about her slender, short form, fragile though she is. And then she kind of - inhales, sharply, and swallows visibly, and gives a slightly shaky smile. Her eyes are still not quite focused. "Glass." Her voice is slightly high pitched. "Clear." And she sways.

Rick quickly darts around towards Adeline, holding out his arms to grab her if she starts to sway too much towards the very expensive artwork. "Hey hey...are you ok? Why don't you take a step back, aright?" There is concern in his voice as he glances towards Katie, then looking directly at the art piece.

Madison looks concerned back to those gathering around Adeline, and watches, but from a distance, not to interrupt but ready to call for help if needed.

"It's real pretty.", Katie admits to Adeline, trying again to pull her back a bit from the display, it's so fragile. "Look at this one!", she says, noticing Ascension and walking toward it, "It looks like my hair in the morning.", she laughs.

Adeline's gaze gets dragged back to the unassuming glass octopus like her head's on rails. But this time she manages to apparently retain the ability to talk like a human being. Her voice is still not quite herself, kind of high and torn, like it's trembling with something. Some hunger. She yields to Katie's gentle tug. "I think. I might get a. Drink." She's definitely unsteady. But a degree of embarrassment is starting to creep in, and luckily her hair is dry enough now that she can shake it over her blushing face. Which she promptly tries to do, ducking her head as she wobbles towards the bar.

Sara Jane holds up a glass of champagne as an offering to Adeline, so she doesn’t need to make the trip to the bar. "Gotcha, girl."

Rick glances at Katie again, then back to Adeline. The immediate danger of smashed glass averted, he takes a step closer to Katie, wrapping an arm around her waist.

Adeline meets Sara Jane's gaze, still slightly wild-eyed, and accepts the champagne with gratitude. Her hands tremble slightly on the champagne flute when she takes it, and she knocks it back in one go, cocktail party manners be damned.

Sara Jane takes the empty back. Gives the girl a wink and a nod, then heads back inside for a refill.

Madison is quiet on her own, Farsi, clearly the focus of the young woman’s attention tonight, tempted to hold her hands as a proper lady would but then remembering the coverings on her hands and leaves them at her sides. The look in her eyes appear lost and sad.

Feeling the arm go around her waist, Katie looks up at Rick with a soft smile, leaning gently in against him for a moment before glancing back to make sure Adeline is alright. A happy little shrug and she looks over the displays, spotting one that catches her eye, "Ooh, that one's pretty.", she says softly, leading Rick over to the Farsi piece.

Adeline lowers the glass, and stands there, seemingly bewildered. She looks down into the empty glass. She's not looking at the sculpture again. If a moment ago she looked wild, now she looks kind of hunched. Smaller, somehow. Then she pulls herself together, and glances back at the others. Her gaze flickers over Katie's and Rick's faces, slightly apprehensively, then walks surreptitiously over to Ascension.

Rick walks with Katie, arm around her waist towards 'Farsi' and he nods in agreement to her "That is nice. I like the colors and the shapes. It has a flow to it, very organic looking." He smiles down at her, then looks to the piece again. Looking up towards Madison he gives her a nod in greeting.

Perhaps not recognizing her in that dress, Katie looks up and realizes she's looking at Madison, a curious tilt of her head as she studies the woman opposite. "Uhm.. Hi!", she says softly, a gentle bite of her lower lip. "Are you okay? Like... I haven't seen you for a while... since the Project.", a soft sigh as memories of that place come flooding back.

Upon entering the courtyard, Robin's eyes immediately go to Incandescent Drawing. "Oh my... Hun look at that it is so beautiful... I love it so much." Letting go of BT for a moment he moves over quickly to get a closer look. "This piece is... incredible."

Adeline drifts near the Farsi work, very unobtrusive. She glances between Katie and Madison, then at the work. As her eyes take in Madison's sadness, an expression of compassion crosses her face. She hesitates. Then she bows her head slightly and quietly ducks back inside the main venue.

Madison offers a soft smile to Katie and Rick and bites her lip a bit in thought at the question, "It somehow reminds me of home." She offers to Rick and Katie, "Hello Katie. It is good to see you doing so well. I will be okay, it will just take some time is all."

Rick stands there quietly, letting the two women speak. He glances momentarily at the door towards Adeline, then back to the piece and the conversation.

BT is simply following Robin around, looking at the different exhibits, and usually spending enough time to make her own judgement. She might not see in it what Robin does though, "Lotsa drizzle and splatter and circles. I liked the glass one inside."

"It's all thanks to you." Katie tells Madison, taking a small step closer to her, "The Project gave me like.. like a hope, a reason to make myself better. It wasn't fair the way I was made to leave, but it opened other doors so it's okay. I'm still happy.", she smiles. A few steps closer and she touches Madison on the arm, a thankful gesture, then she turns away and returns to Rick's side, slipping her hand into his. "Oh, hi Robin! Hi Betty.", spotting two familiar faces also looking around.

Madison closes her eyes a moment and nods to Katie, "I am glad you are finding your way Katie and I am glad there is hope in your heart, because so many that come through the program are full of despair when they start, and I am sorry also I had to ask you to leave. But I am happy for you." She opens her eyes and smiles at her warmly. She then nods her head to the others who have come in, a respectful nod of her head, but she doesn't really know any of the others.

Robin is still beaming at the picture. "It's... I can't even describe how this makes me fell Betty. I don't know why I'm drawn to it." He hears his named called and looks over. "Oh hey Katie." he says with a smile, but still his eyes are drawn back to this piece.

Rick give BT and Robin a friendly nod, then over to Madison. Hearing her words, he tilts his head slightly, pressing his lips a bit. But he says nothing, just standing there with her.

"Hi." BT replies simple to Katie to her, then a nod of the head back to Madison as she had given one first. Then her attention is back on the painting, "When you tilt your head on ways, I sees some trees, but iffn you be lookin' at it a different way, kindat looks like hands coming out of holes."

Looking from Madison to Robin, then BT, Katie shakes her head, a thin smile, and turns away without a word. Pushing her hands into her pockets, she lowers her head and returns to the main area where more displays wait to be seen.

Madison sighs softly as Katie leaves, sad if it were to be interpreted any other way, and she offers, "I hope she is truly happy. She deserves to be. I wish I could have done more for her, but it was not meant for me to be one to help her."

Rick glances back to Madison as he walks following Katie, giving a wan smile, but then he's through the doorway.

Robin shrugs and nods overhearing Madison. "Yeah I'm in that club too." He says simply as he heads over to Ascension.

Shiori slips from the main room to look at what is on display out here. The small woman with the top hat wanders along to look at the artwork. She's taking her time, steps slow and light.

"I wouldn't worries too much..." BT says over towards Madison when she hears the other woman talk. "Next week She's be havin' a bunch more new friends cause she be decidin' that the friends she's gots want to spend too much times with her or somethin' like that. I just leaves her be now, 'cause her bein' happy ain't worth bein' unhappy."

Emrick heads out to the courtyard with a champagne glass in his hand and sees Robin and smiles, heading that way.

"There is to much in this life to worry about, Thank you for your support, and I hope that you she is grateful for the friends she does have and holds them close." She offers to BT and Robin. She then offers a bow of her head to Shiori as she steps out into the courtyard.

Shiori nods to Madison, and continues to wander among the works of art. She keeps the guitar slung across her back well away from any of the exhibits but she's not about to let such a lovely instrument as that guitar away from her either.

Robin also beams at this sculpture. "Look at this beautiful star-like sculpt." He smiles at Emrick's approach. "Hi Emrick. It's good to see you." He also passes a wave to Shiori. "I liked your cover they very good."

BT gives a little wave to Emrick as he finds his way to the courtyard and towards, she and Robin. But she's gone quiet at this point. Just looking at the art, but not making any comments on them.

Shiori blinks and looks toward Robin. She dips her head "Thanks. Friend of mine asked me to play for it. Must admit, it's been a while since I did that kind of music. It felt good."

Emrick raises the champagne glass a bit, "Nice to see you both, Robin, Betty. Figured I'd walk around and see what was in. This the place you're gonna show your things at Robin?"

Robin shrugs at Emrick's question. "If she likes any of my other pieces I hope one day. I would be so happy if that happened." Noticing BT's silence he gives her a one armed hug and rubs his hand up and down her arm. "It's okay hun she went inside and ahe isn't worth it."

Emrick nods, "Cool, ya. Can't say Im a giant fan of performance or fine art, not enough practicality for me. But place is nice. Will be swell for your stuff to display in."

BT just shakes her head, "No. She's nobody's problem but her own. We's all tried to be nice and she be drivin' us away. I just wanted to be quiet a bit let other peoples talk. Maybe they's make more sense about arts than I does."

Robin laughs "I guess that we differ there. I almost talked to Jolene about buying one of the pieces. It took all my willpower to not do it." He smiles and nods to BT. "Art is subjective so it doesn't need to make sense. One of the quotes out here from the sculptor was 'I love the ones that makes the least amount of sense.'"

Madison overhears the conversation, "There will be pieces for sale at the end of the exhibit sir." She smiles warmly at Robin and BT, "Art is all about what feelings it evokes to you. There is no right answer. And some won't evoke anything, it just depends on you." She offers reassuringly to BT.

Emrick nods, "I mean, some if it looks nice and all. But it doesn't /do/ anything. Guess it's the handyman in me. I mean, tons a' ways to do art, but I'd rather paint on a guitar or work a sculpture around a stairwell or something. Guess I'm just not all for conversation pieces without function. Still, nice to look at for a short while and all." he shrugs a shoulder and then sip his champagne again.

"Robin. I think that I's gonna go. Yo can be havin' fun with your friends, but there's too many peoples right now and I's kinds wanna go and relax." BT says, looking down as she rubs at her arm. "I knows you wants me to be here, but I kinda has enough."

Robin nods and gives BT another hug. "Okay hun you going back to your place?" He turns to Madison. "Thank you, though now that just neans I have more time to consider it." He laughs and looks Emrick. " Not everything needs a functional purpose simply being beautiful is enough if it brightens someone's day doesn't it still have a purpose."

Madison nods her head and turns back to enjoy Ascension like sitting in front of the sun and lets them decide what their evening will bring for them and doesn't want to intrude any more than they may want her to.

Emrick nods "Sure, I spose' but, why not just make something that has a purpose be beautiful, is all I'm saying." he looks to Betty then, "Have a good night Betty."

BT shakes her head. "I thinks I's gonna have a hot bath. I's not be havin' one of those in a while." She says after the hug. Then she smiles to Emrick, "You be havin' a good one too."

Robin smiles "Okay well then I'll see you at home if you are still there." He laughs at Emrick. "Well agree to disagree." He looks to Madison. "I'm sorry I don't think I caught your name earlier."

Santigo wanders out into the courtyard, a drink in his right hand, and an old beaten violin carried lovingly in his left like it was a part of him. He moves amongst the path to find a quiet spot to sit at one of the benches.

Madison is enjoying Ascension which seems to have thoroughly captured her attention this evening as her hands are held at her sides this evening. She is dressed in an elegant green grown this evening and offering bits of information as she is asked.

Emrick chuckles at Robin, "Sure, sure, agree to disagree, that's fine, people like all kinds of different things." he says with a nod and warm tone.

Santigo takes a drink from the glass and then places it on the ground to his left side. He then takes up the violin and holds it just so. His eyes flutter close and he takes in a few deep breaths and allows the air to escape in a whispered sigh between his lips. Then he plays. The bow doesn't seem to touch the strings at all, the music so soft at first falling on one's ear like a whisper. And then it becomes a bit louder with a bit more life in it as if someone was asleep and it now awake to find themselves in a perfect morning. And the song goes on, rhythm and beat now making an appearance like being called to a dance. The dance fades to something soft and sweet, like a cool night breeze and cold stark stars, and then comes to a stop, the last note ringing off the walls, soft, softly. <---======##====================[ Dice Roll ]=====================##======---> Santigo rolls Dexterity + Performance vs 6 for 5 successes. <-------------=============++++++++++++++++++++++++=============-------------> Sent to: Santigo, Madeline, Madison, and Santigo

Madeline steps out of the gallery into the cooler night air and sighs softly, glancing about at people and artwork. Ascension draws her attention and after a long thoughtful gaze, she texts someone then tucks the phone away again. Music turns hre head and the lovely blond now regards the violinist, and she does not look away

Robin chuckles back at the man. "Isn't that the truth." He sighs "I feel I should go back inside and be social with people who might end up patrons, but I don't wanna. Talking is hard." He finishes in an almost whine.

Madison, is also drawn by the beautiful music, it seems be one of the few things to draw her attention away from Ascension aside from some conversations this evening. She does smile to Madeline as she listens to the music and steps up beside her. Her hands bound by green bandages that match the shade of her gown this evening. "You only need to do what you wish."

Emrick smiles at the music and nods to Robin, "That's fair." he says to Robin, "Though once the performance is over I'd like you to meet Mikael at least, he was inside." he nods and then sips his champagne again.

Madeline nods somewhat to Madison and watches the movements of Santigo's bow upon the strings

Santigo reaches down to take up his drink to spy the pair of ladies looking at him. He gives them a nod and a smile, holding up his drink to them in a toast and sips it. He nods to Emrick and then says with a Romany accent, "Should I not be playing here?" He looks about now and then to the ladies, "I do not want to take away from the beauty of the evening."

Madeline smiles gently as the music stops and she can rouse a little from whatever magic the man had crafted "bon soir monsieur, non as the owner of tis establishment I invite you to continue if you will"

Madison smiles at Emrick and smiles as well. She holds her hands up to do an ASL clap since she can't really seem to clap normally with the bandages on her hands. "Please do continue. Your playing is so very beautiful."

Robin smiles "I don't think you are taking anything away from the pieces by playing." He looks to Emrick. "Oh okay I be happy to meet him."

Emrick chuckles "Oh, well, thats lucky, here he is." and he wave to get Mikaels attention and wave him over.

Once more in biker leather and denim, Katrina is making her way towards the exit. No rest for the wicked and she certainly teased the wicked tonight some. She pauses and she notes Madeline's presence and angles towards her first. She pauses near her and nudges her with her elbow, "Thanks for the last-minute team up. We should do it again sometime."

Santigo takes another drink from the glass, looking at the contents with a bit of an odd expression to his face, perhaps like he is not use to such a drink. He sets it back down gracefully and then sets the violin again and says with a Romany accent, "Here is something a bit more." A smile and then a nod and another as if he is counting time. The bow kisses the strings and out comes something remarkable.

(OOC: Skip into it just a little and it's a very wonderful gypsy piece.)

Mikael heads over towards Madeline to get his drink, and noticing Emerick he gives the man a bright smile and waves back. "Bonsoir, Monsieur Emrick. A pleasure to see you this eve." <---======##====================[ Dice Roll ]=====================##======---> Santigo rolls Dexterity + Performance vs 6 for 6 successes. <-------------=============++++++++++++++++++++++++=============-------------> <---======##====================[ Dice Roll ]=====================##======---> Santigo rolls 5 vs 6 for 1 successes. <-------------=============++++++++++++++++++++++++=============------------->

Angie opts for water this time as she had enough champagne. Her heels click on the ground as she takes a deep breath of that crisp night air

Madeline is watching Santino raise his bow for another song and then gasps as the music begins, finding it utterly rapturous

Katrina sighs as her phone buzzes and she looks at the message, starting to head out. She can't help herself though when she hears the violin begin. Even though she has another phone buzz, she stops for a few minutes to listen. The player captures her attention and imagination for a few moments before she finally blinks, shakes her head a little and waves to all as she makes her way out.

Angie stops when she hears the violin. The music snagging her from reality. Acoustic guitar and the violin. One of her weaknesses. She moves to stand next to Madeline, listening

Madeline hasn't moved even an inch since the music began, simply admiring everything about the song and the man making it

Mikael steps up beside Madeline, listening to the music too. He reaches out and touches her hand. "My champagne, mon amie?"

Santigo comes to a stop and nods to himself as the bow moves away from the violin. As people watch him, his every move is like a dance unto itself. It is like every movement he makes has a measure of grace added unto it.

Robin sits listening to the music smiling, He gives Mikael a wave as he comes over to Emrick.

Madeline gasps when Mikael touches her hand and blinks out of her reverie. Smiling she nods to Mikael "what? yes of course" but before she takes it she applauds the man "bravo monsieur"

Emrick smiles to Mikael, "Nice ta' see ya' Mikael, wanted ta' introduce ya' to Robin. That sculptor I was talking about." and he motions towards Robin to point him out and then back and forth at them to introduce themselves and such with his champagne glass.

Santigo smiles at all the attention, "I think the night if fine, and like wine, this drink has slumbered your thoughts and awoken your dreams. Thank you for allowing this one to play his simple songs." He hugs the violin like an old friend, "I think I sound better myself when I have drunk my fill with something a bit more down to earth." He takes up the champagne and drains it and looks at it, "This...this is something that takes like charm and roses."

Mikael smiles brightly as he listens to the music and then applauds Santigo as he states sincerely, "Excellente, Monsieur. So much talent at the Crown tonight in every nook and cranny." He turns his head towards Emrick when he is addressed and gives a smile to Robin, "A pleasure to meet you, Monsieur. I am Mikael Rousseau."

Madeline smiles and sips her drink then slips something into Mikael's hand with a soft word and turns back to Santigo "Monseiur, leave a way to contact you if you please, your music should be heard more often"

Mikael steps forward to Santiago, "Pardonne oui, but it is seldom that I come across such a talent. Might I know your name, Monsieur?" He pulls a thin card case from his pocket and withdraws a card from it and offers it. On the front is his name, Mikael Rousseau, with scrollwork and musical notes over a fleur-de-lis background. On the flipside are the names 'Vieux Carre and Bourbon & Bedlam (The Carousel Bar)', and 'Whispers of Widow Paris', along with their contact numbers and web sites. Under the card are several folded bills.

Santigo smiles softly to Madeline, "My music sounds better here and there, I am no performer such as those that play in this majestic place. I leave my audience to chance, and my theatre unto my wandering feet to find a place where they would like to rest a bit, and that is where I play." A small smile, "I am sure we shall meet again." He takes Mikael’s card and it seems to disappear before one's eyes, so smooth is his sleight of hand. He says, "I am Santigo. I will come and meet with you sometime if you'd like." He looks around and then back to Mikael, "Not is so grand a place, it seems to swallow my heart."

Emrick looks to Robin, "I think I'm gonna head back to the shop, champagne and art is nice, but a beer and a couch might be what’s called for right now." he says with a smile and a nod. Robin smiles and nods "I'll follow you inside at least"

Mikael nods his head to Santigo, "Oui, I would like that very much Monsieur Santigo. My lounge is not as grand as a museum, but it has its own heart." He turns to Robin and smiles brightly, "Pardonne moi, I am enjoying this eve very much. So much to see and hear..." he chuckles softly, "Almost enough to make mon head spin."

Madison really found herself enjoying the Music but lets the others talk and finds a place to sit and enjoy a piece of the art, remaining to herself tonight.

Santigo stands and smiles, "Might the evening be rememberable as it has been remarkable. I thank you for your attentions and kindness." He heads back inside.

Angie watches Madeline leave then she looks to the others. She seems like she is contemplating then she exits

Mikael nods his head to Emrick as he hands another card to Robin, "I look forward to that."

Mikael gives Madison a smile and then goes to help with the refreshment table. "I hope the rest of the eve finds you well, Mademoiselle."
