Harpies are both feared and trusted. They are trusted as they are the official recorders of debts owed, status gained and can serve as diplomats or envoys to other domains. They are feared as they are unusually aware of dirty little secrets, crimes committed in other cities and if they have a mind to are able to raise a Kindred to the heights of legend or to destroy their reputation forever. Harpies are generally from the Toreador clan but some have chosen the Brujah or other clans to hold the station. Harpies communicate with other through various secret channels. As such it is a very bad idea to cross a Harpy for all Domains will hear of it soon after. Harpies consider themselves to be the "voice of society" and can be quite brutal with their comments. Newcomers to a Domain are advised to ensure the Harpy is aware of their arrival so proper arrangements can be made for safely entering the Domain. Some Harpies charge the arrivals a "boon" or favor for such assistance but not always. When dealing with Harpies it is best to remember that they are generally extremely skilled in social skills, quite vain and will always make sure they come out ahead in any deal. Treat them with respect, keep your business short, leave them in peace and you may end your visit to an Elysium without too much trouble waiting for you on your return home. How to Use this Page This page is designed to let players circulate the more 'permanent' rumors that exist within the sect and the clan. It is also a means by which new players can get a sense of what is going on within the Camarilla without having to go looking for +bboard posts in-game. Players should feel free to edit their clan's rumors especially if there are some juicy current events. Links A Harpy's Primer Basic Rumors What is Known Giovanni Death: Don Ignacio of the Giovanni was murdered a while back. Because of this, the treaty between his clan and the Tremere for the protection of the Traitorous Gargoyle Draven was broken. Due to this dissolution, the Keeper of Elysium and Toreador Primogen Madeline offered her personal protection to the creature. Disease:There was a time in the history of this Praxis where Prince Casman lost his Praxis to a Sabbat disease. All, even the oldest here, are quite new to the area, considering. Rumors from Court November 1, 2013 Gangrel:A young, untrained Gangrel named "Never" sought permission to join the Camarilla at the first court of November with the sponsorship of none other than Elder Aeric of Clan Tremere. The Seneschal appointed him a few tasks to complete before permission would be granted for him to become a member. Sheriff:The sheriff has been a very unreliable post. The appointee is either ostracized, leaves, or is killed off. November 15, 2013 New Rose:A new Toreador named Raksmei presented herself to the Court; apparently a neonate. She's apparently terrified of the Sabbat. A Herald:The Herald of Aeric of the Tremere presented his sponsor's concerns that the Seneschal was not dealing with the clan's concerns about the situation with Draven. A Failure:Elder Aeric declared that the current Seneschal, Jax Xander, a spineless kindred who does not see to the needs of the Praxis but rather allows murders to roam free. Masquerade:Aeric accuses Jax of sheltering a Primogen who has broken the Masquerade. Nosferatu: A new skulker has arrived within the city but he's not like any other Nosferatu that anyone's seen. This one dresses like a Ventrue, talks like a Tremere and insults like a Toreador. Clan War?: The Seneschal, upon granting the Territory of the University to the Brujah, has, according to the Tremere Primogen, initiated a Clan War between Brujah and the Tremere. Universal Truce:There seems to be a tentative truce between the Tremere, Nosferatu and Brujah as to who would control the University. Rumor has it that the three clans might be working together to ensure the safety and prosperity of the grounds on all sides (within, without and below). January 2018 Death Cult: Deputy Cray announced he's starting a new place for the dead, offering funerals and ceremonies. And apparently Caerus is starting a new cult while he's at it. I can't imagine what might go wrong if (when) rumors of a death cult start spreading. Carlton Going Public: It seems with another step in putting past instability behind us, Prince Vegard is making Carlton Pines the main Elysium open to everyone. It's a show of strength and power, but watch out for the snakes and necromancers around. And a Silvanna, banned from Elysium since she was sent to work for the Giovanni. Primogen Seats: Wow, that's quite some upheaval with the Primogen Council! Prince Vegard announced he's frozen the seats for Brujah, Gangrel, and Ventrue over Primogen not attending meetings or doing their jobs to his satisfaction! Takes a lot to throw out public insults and accusations like that. New Lasombra: Seneschal Torvik introduced Heathen as her new childe. Despite all the talk of overpopulation, well, it must be nice to be the Prince's, um, Seneschal. Wasn't he just a ghoul for the Daughters, or the Toreador? I'm sure there's some interesting story there. Still, not long ago a Sabbat ghoul, and then popular in Tower circles, I expect it's quite a coup for Arya. New Tremere Ghoul: Deputy Cray introduced Morgan Renee Batista De Rossi to seek approval as his new ghoul, which was granted. I wonder if we'll see her again. New Gangrel: Primogen Jaegar introduced Raul Meryuimisspaa as a just-arrived Gangrel come to try out our city. Apparently the more rural sort, we may not see much of him. New Ventrue Ghoul: Prince Vegard introduced one Violet James as his own new ghoul. Some kind of troubleshooter? She's been quiet in the back of court, but he implied we should see her around quite a bit. Hospital Disappearance: Celeste's ghoul, Mikael Rousseau, passed on news of a strange disappearance at the hospital that has Masquerade implications. Primogen Beauregard is investigating, but also asking for assistance in the investigation. Sounds like a good way for an enterprising neonate to get noticed. We'll have to assume for now the Malkavians are handling their domain. Sentinel Grounded: Prince Vegard announced that Sentinel is not being charged with a violation of the Masquerade over her irresponsible behavior since it was promptly covered up. Promptly covered up is good. But we'll only be seeing the gargoyle at Edwards or Madeline's havens for a while. Gangrel Primogen Unfrozen: In an announcement that wasn't quite an apology, Prince Vegard publicly stated that the Gangrel seat is unfrozen as Primogen Jaegar did seem to be doing his job after all. Nicolai seemed to take it all pretty well. Nightly Socializing: Keeper Renoir is planning to host at the Carlton ballroom nightly now. To make sure every evening there's a place to be. Apparently even Amelie's time is not a bottomless well as she's also making known there's room for an Assistant Keeper to help her keep making all of the rest of us look like boring hermits. Rumors About the Others (Non-pillar clans: Caitiff, Daughters of Cacophony, Gargoyles, etc.) What is Known Jan 2018: Amelie and Nicolai, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! But she's been banished from Vegard's sight due to the irresponsible behavior for the time being, restricted Edwards and Primogen Blanchard's properties.

Assamite-Antitribu Rumors What is Known Dec 22nd, 2017: Agate reported having executed the Sabbat known as Byron Obertus, as her duty as Sheriff. With the assistance of an anarch Assamite, Carys, whom she intends to be educating in Assamite ways. Because apparently stray Assamites are thing now? Dec 27th, 2017: Agate defeated a clay golem that attacked the Toreador property Lionne Studios, and is investigating that and other sightings to find the controller. Because stray clay monsters are a thing now? Brujah Rumors What is Known Jan 2018: Madeline and Leon, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! "Kissing? Aren't they usually too busy dancing to make out?" "Hey, you don't think the famous dancer entranced one of ours just to have a dance partner, do you?" "No. And what do you mean 'ours'? We're both Toreador." Hey, when *was* the last time we heard something from Bruno? Gangrel Rumors What is Known Aug, 2017: JD really told off the Prince and the Primogen. That's one way to resign from a Primogen seat. Took off to set up as the big dog in San Marcos, he said. But righteous as he sounded, everyone's treating him wrong about all of it, maybe fooled by someone. Oct, 2017: JD changed his mind about the San Marcos thing. He's taking on the zoo as his project, to set up kinda like he had with CARES. Maybe we'll see some more of the obstacle courses and sparring and exotic animal ghouls soon. Nov 8th, 2017: Nicolai hosted a game night as his newly acquired Cybotrek building and got plenty of praise for several Kindred having a fun night. Dec 24th, 2017: There was a Sabbat attack on some Kindred on the beach. Nicolai was praised for fighting them off himself, three vampires and a dog. That sounds like it would be impressive to roughhousing outlanders, right? Jan 2018: Nicolai and Amelie, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! Wait, how did he get a Daughter to hang out in a tree with him? Maybe that's why he's the Primogen; he is a lawyer after all. Or maybe he's confusing her for a literal songbird who belongs in trees. Maybe we need to get a Whip to keep a closer eye on him. Jan 12th, 2018: Raul Meryuimisspaa was presented to Prince Torvik and accepted into Prospect. Jan 12th, 2018: Prince Torvik announced our Primogen seat was frozen, along with Ventrue and Brujah, for not doing the job enough. That's quite an insult to Nicolai. Has he been too busy with his new venture and making out with that Daughter to handle the Primogen work? Jan 17th, 2018: Nicolai held the official opening of his new Prospect Opportunity Program for ex convicts. Pretty well intended, including the Toreador Primogen. That one harpy, the reporter, seems overly interested in the auto shop part of it. Jan 19th, 2018: Prince Torvik announced he's lifted the freeze on our Primogen seat. It wasn't quite an apology, but said it was miscommunication and Nicolai is actually doing his job. Lasombra-Antitribu Rumors What is Known Jan 12th, 2018: Arya presented Heathen as her new childe at court, and accepted as a fledgling. Must be nice, being the Prince's wife, getting a new childe with all the noise about overpopulation lately. Caught several Kindred by surprise, I think. Wasn't he Daughter's ghoul, and just a few months before that a Sabbat ghoul? Those are...some optics. Jan 19th, 2018: So Prince Torvik started court with a mushy scene serenading Seneschal Torvik. Are we *sure* she's just faking it for the power and position? Malkavian Rumors What is Known Oct, 2017: Guivre has been named our new Primogen, and he named Celeste as the new Whip. I think that latter means seeing even more of Mikael around. Dec, 2017: Even with the storm going on, Celeste's ghoul Mikael hosted an opening for his new bar Bourbon and Bedlam that was quite a success and well received. Jan, 2018: Seems like half the Toreador fawn and drool over Mikael. He's pretty competent at a lot of things, but wow are they jealous of what a great singer he is. Jan 19th, 2018: I think we have a bit of drama. Guivre publicly commented on Celeste not doing enough as Whip. Maybe a little miscommunication over doing things in person or herself rather than having Mikael handle everything to do with other people? Jan 19th, 2018: A disappearance of a patient at the hospital, our domain, with a possible Masquerade breach. But Guivre is on it, and requesting more assistance to look into it quickly. Nosferatu Rumors What is Known Jan 11th, 2018: Nino was in fine form when he dropped in on Elysium. He managed to insult everyone there before remembering he was there to let everyone know he'd gained more influence with the city bureaucracy. Even shut up a harpy. "Sassy Smurf!" "Hah!" "Shh. Not so loud. Harpies have ears everywhere. And do you want to be in his vicinity once she figures out whether she's offended at the personal insult or that it's such an old pop culture reference?" Jan 25th, 2018: So Stanley is no longer named as Whip, it seems. Rumor has from a Primogen meeting that Nino brought in a dead rat to name as his new Whip, expecting it to be notably more useful. That's...not a graceful way out of even an informal title. Toreador Rumors What is Known Sep 3rd, 2017: Hey, do you think Sheriff Agate has it in for Azrael? You know how much he whines about not wanting public attention and so hates responsibility? And here she is naming him senior deputy in recognition of a job well done. Helping the Tremere, no less! Tormenting him for fun sounds like an Assamite sort of thing. Oct 2017: At the insistence of the Primogen Council the Prince has named Senior Deputy James Boudreaux as our new Scourge. It should be interesting to see a Toreador approach to that position. Or whether we'll get a return of the demon Azrael. Whether it's the stress of doing the job right, or trying to duck responsibility like it was a fatal disease is still a question. Does anyone have a betting pool going? Nov 2017: Grand opening of the Royal Cajun Cabaret went quite well. Lovely show with a nice crowd. With an independent Kindred as a star performer? For being allergic to being a responsible, upstanding Kindred, Azrael seems to be going to a lot of effort to appear respectable these nights. Question is, is it all some nefarious scheme or...hah, I can't even finish that sentence. He just convinced over-indulgent investors to abet his obsession with New Orleans by building his own playground. Dec 2017: Asheton has stepped down as Whip to pursue his personal projects. Now Madeline has named the adorably competent and diplomatic Arianna to take the position. We're all looking forward to her charming efforts to keep everyone organized and working together. Dec 2017: Prince Torvik has repeatedly complimented Madeline and the clan generally on keeping organized and managing all that domain we've been granted. The public recognition is great after the effort put in. Now we just have to watch out for competition and sabotage. Dec 17th, 2017: Grand opening of the Crown Theater, Madeline's newest project. Quite an event, all sorts of great shows, and a real who's who you'd expect from one of the city's most influential Kindred. Dec 22nd, 2017: So Azrael has taken on the recently executed Sabbat's ghoul, Angelica Santos, for his own. Couldn't bear to see another clan make off with her? Too cute to resist? Can't pass up an excuse to catcall a nurse? But this also brings up another question, is this turning into a habit for Prospect; it was only a few months ago we "acquired" Heathen from them and now we have Angie. Tremere Rumors What is Known Sep 13th, 2017: "News from Transylvania! Tremere there have learned how to reproduce with lich eggs instead of Embrace, and they're hatching an army of Tremere without having to worry about the Third Tradition. And these new Tremere can transform themselves into cockroaches. Or other Kindred into cockroaches, which is even better." And promptly named Deputy, because we're desperate or Tremere are scary, I guess. Dec 12th, 2017: Caerus lead an effort into countering the weather trouble. Apparently there was something magical about Titan. Dec 27th, 2017: A clay golem attacked a Toreador property, Lionne Studios. So far no one has publicly blamed the Tremere. Nobody let something escape their lab, right? The Sheriff and Toreador Primogen are investigating. But that sure sounds like a Tremere thing, right? Jan 5th, 2018: Caerus announced he's starting a new place to honor the dead, offering free funerals and ceremonies. We should expect rumors of a new cult. Is he trying to bring pitchforks and torches back into style? Jan 12th, 2018: Caerus introduced his new ghoul, Morgan Renee Batista De Rossi at court. Which the Prince approved of after a report from Regent Wade. Jan 19th, 2018: Caerus recited a poem at the end of the court session. It was pretty good, got some applause, especially from the Toreador Primogen. What, is *everyone* pandering to the Toreador now? Or have they gone and pressured Prince Torvik to make it part of the Deputy duties? Ventrue Rumors What is Known Sep 13th, 2017: That newly presented Ravnos, Kagan, sure seems intimately familiar with Prince Torvik from the past. Did you hear what he was telling that apprentice harpy about Vegard's "impressive manhood"? Sounds funny to me, but I want to know more about this time Vegard was in Transylvania. Odd liasons aren't so surprising, considering his Lasombra wife. Speaking of which, do you think she's related to why we haven't heard anything from this Ravnos since? Dec 29th, 2017: Freja von Celle was officially presented and accepted to Prospect, with permission to set up her Synth Mind corporation. Jan 12th, 2018: The Primogen seat for Ventrue is empty, frozen by Prince Torvik's order, due to a scarcity of active Ventrue of sufficient standing. The Prince is very disappointed in all of you. Yes, you. Jan 12th, 2018: Prince Torvik introduced Violet James as his new ghoul. (This time it wasn't even stealing one from the Toreador.) Jan 19th, 2018: Prince Torvik started court by serenading his wife? Really? Don't you think that's overdoing the mushiness? Perhaps, but it does seem to keep all those Toreador enthralled, so maybe he's just pandering to the audience to keep them distracted from higher ambitions.
